Tuesday 8-14-01

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by discussing an article on the front page of the World Herald’s Sports section. The Omaha.com target=blank>article was about Josh Brown being sad because he doesn’t have a girlfriend and showing regret for the incident where he got his butt handed to him by his ex-girlfriend’s new dental student boyfriend. TnT were amazed and embarrassed that the story was even printed in the paper. The guys spent a large portion of their show this morning talking about the article.

Also early in the show, TnT spent a bit of time talking about the shooting in Council Bluffs that took place on Sunday at a soccer match. Further details have been made available and the guys found out that the man who was shot and killed had also been stabbed. According to their sources, the man was shot 5 times, 3 in the chest alone, but had been stabbed just prior to the shooting. They also heard that the police were going to try to find the person who stabbed him and charge that person with attempted homicide. TnT found that to be pretty amusing considering that the man’s death was caused by the 5 bullets fired by police and not the stab wound.

The guys spent some time this morning discussing the upcoming Z Bash. TnT asked one request of their listeners in regards to this year’s concert. They simply requested that no one would poop outside. There are, after all, Port-A-Potties everywhere. As I’m sure you are aware, at last year’s Bash there was a woman who witnessed pooping through a fence like a Play-Doh Fun Factory. If that wasn’t terrible enough, Donnie mentioned that one of his buddies squatted down and took a growler on the ground underneath his rain poncho. Even more disturbing was a call that TnT got from a new regular caller “9 Ball” who said his buddy “8 Ball” had also taken an outdoors poop at last year’s concert. 9 Ball explained that his friend had been “backed up” for several weeks before the concert and a doctor had put him on all sorts of laxatives. Well, the medication kicked in while he was at the Bash last year and, unable to hold it, 8 Ball jumped up onto a trashcan “like an eagle” and busted a major load of liquid fecal mater into the garbage. With these two new stories of outdoor pooping added to the already well-known Fence Pooper tale, TnT found themselves obligated to request that no one poop outside this year. Let’s see if we can all comply with their very simple request.

When Attaboy Travis came in this morning, TnT continued their discussion of Josh Brown. I believe that discussion may have been what lead into yet another topic on the show this morning, crying. Travis mentioned that he occasionally cries with his wife and he feels it brings them closer together. Todd and Tyler both talked about a few things that bring them to tears as well. Donnie, on the other hand, said that he never cries and has certainly never cried over an ex-girlfriend or his ex-wife. Travis then went into a story about how he cried just yesterday after going school supply shopping with his daughter. On their way home, he looked over at her holding her new backpack and the sight invoked strong emotions within him. His little girl is growing up. After his admission, TnT, Donnie, Brian and even the callers all jumped on Attaboy Trav and proceeded to spend the next 15 minutes calling him a puss. It was very funny stuff.

TnT spoke with Z Bash 2001 headliner David Lee Roth this morning. Within the first 5 seconds of the conversation, David slipped in a few swear words but seemed to clean it up a bit for the rest of the interview. TnT spoke with him about taking over for Poison now that their tour has been cancelled. They also talked about the upcoming Z Bash 2001. Basically, the interview consisted of TnT trying to ask David questions in between his long rants about Judo. It was nice to hear that David seems legitimately excited to perform next Saturday.

Towards the end of the show, TnT brought in their buddy Jose from the Spanish speaking station down the hall, 1420AM. They continued their discussion about the Council Bluffs shooting from earlier in the show and asked Jose the Spanish speaking population’s take on the whole situation. He spent some time talking about what he heard, his phone call with the Mexican Consulate and troubles that sometimes arise from avid soccer fans.
