TnT Show 09-05-2001

Wednesday 9-5-01

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by talking about their appearance at the Council Bluffs location of Eddy’s Conoco this afternoon. TnT are revealing the new Todd and Tyler cups today, which can be refilled for only 25 cents throughout the end of October at any Eddy’s Conoco location. They spoke with one of the strippers who will be appearing with them as “eye candy”. Her name, Miami, is derived from the city in Okalahoma, not Florida. TnT advised her to reference Florida instead of Okalahoma when she introduces herself in the future.

The guys spent a bit of time during the early portion of the show discussing the Husker Vs. Notre Dame tickets that are for sale in the paper and on-line. They had heard reports of tickets going for up to $2000 but they believed that price was over-inflated by the media. They looked in greater detail at the prices on-line and found that some of the eBay packages were including multiple tickets and/or multiple games. One of which even offered up a hotel room to the winning bidder. Upon further research, TnT found out that the average scalp price people were asking seemed to be around $400 per ticket.

TnT spoke with Susan Spencer from CBS’s “48 Hours”. Tonight the program is going to detail some strange, hidden killers in your home that you might want to be looking out for. One of which is a funky mold that causes brain damage. Another piece airing tonight is about carbon monoxide fumes building up in house boats and there will be yet another segment on blood clots caused by long plane flights. Check out CBS tonight and see what will probably kill you and everyone you know.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on the recent shark attacks. This particular commentary was pretty amusing even though it was peppered with some pretty bigoted remarks such as, “the Lord’s mad cuz they’z too many queers”. Larry will be in Lincoln appearing at the Royal Grove on September 21st so stop on out and see his show.

TnT got into a lengthy discussion about the Great Plains Athletic Conference this morning. They spent some time discussing the various schools in the conference like Dana, Done and Hastings as well as their associated mascots and team colors. They took some calls from listeners with up-to-date information, as some of the schools had recently changed mascots due to political correctness.

During their discussion of the GPAC, TnT’s old friend Heavy C phoned in and asked for a bit of help. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan in the fall of ’83 and racked up enough quarters playing football to letter. Due to grades, he had to transfer schools before he actually received his big yellow “W”. TnT phoned the college’s athletic director on his behalf, Ira Zeff, and spoke to him about getting Heavy C his “W”. The athletic director was really cool and had a great conversation with the gang. He said that he would check the records for C and then mail him his “W” once all the information could be confirmed. Heavy C sounded quite excited and TnT were happy to help their buddy lift the dreadful weight that has plagued his conscious for the last 18 years.

Towards the end of the show, TnT spoke with another one of the strippers, Jamie who will be appearing with them at the CB Eddy’s Conoco this afternoon. An e-mailer pointed out that her raspy voice sounded just like Donnie’s little daughter and when TnT got her on the phone, that was confirmed. She was one of the ladies involved in the lesbian show given to Slave Boy Jeremy and his buddies just prior to Jeremy’s big “I’ll cook you chicken if you let me look at you” date a few months back. TnT tried to get a hold of another one of the strippers who would be joining them today but weren’t able to get her on the phone.

TnT took a moment this morning to remember one of their listeners who recently died in a KETV.com - News - Man Dies In Morning Crash target=blank>tragic car accident. You may remember Ivan Miller as the guy who phoned in several months ago and sang a couple of songs for TnT. The songs were about how TnT, “are real, real good. They’re doing real, real good” and that TnT are, “gonna go, go, go, go, go to the top”. TnT played the clips of his songs several times towards the end of the show and then passed along their best wishes to Ivan’s family. Sometimes this world f-bombing sucks….

That’s about it for the update today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
