Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning joined by their old friend and former news chick http://kvoa.com/news/bios/lisavolenec.html target=blank>Lisa Volenec. Lisa is in town for the big Huskers Vs. Notre Dame football game and after hearing that TnT were giving her a hard time about not contacting them yesterday, she swung by the studio to hang out for a bit today. It was great to hear Lisa on the TnT show again. I believe shes been absent from the show, with the exception of a few phone calls here and there, for right around one year.
Lisa spent some time talking with the guys about Tucson but somehow the conversation always seemed to revert back to the Huskers. As we all remember, Lisa is a huge Husker fan. Anyway, during their conversation this morning, the death of coach Solichs father was mentioned. The coachs father is going to be buried in Pennsylvania on Sunday. Lisa seemed a bit uptight about that, considering the Huskers have such a big game ahead of them the day before the burial. TnT were quite amused to hear Lisa wish that Frank Solich was Jewish because people of that faith usually have the deceased laid to rest within 24 hours of the death. That would have left coach Solich with less on his mind this week and, perhaps he would be more prepared for the Notre Dame game. Lisa hung out for a bit longer, joining in on the topics of the day and then left without saying an on-air goodbye. Im sure that if the Huskers dont win on Saturday, well be hearing Lisas voice via the phone again bright and early Monday morning when TnT call her to rub it in. Stay tuned.
TnT sent Big Pussy out on Putz Patrol this morning. They had received word that Putz would be appearing at the Sarpy County courthouse this morning and thought that they would send Big P there to entice Putz. Ralston Costume was kind enough to set Big Pussy up with a catholic schoolgirl outfit, in which he wore to the courthouse. TnT checked in with him several times throughout the show as listeners dropped off items Big Pussy could use to try to be more like a 12-year-old girl, therefore enhancing his ability to lure Putz. Some if the items dropped off included little girl perfume, an NSYNC locker calendar and a purple young girls shirt. Unfortunately, Big Pussy had to leave a bit early in order to make it to his classes at UNO today. He never did spot the Putz but we were able to obtain some photos of him in his schoolgirl outfit. Check out the picture page on the TnT section to catch a glimpse.
TnT and Travis spent some time discussing a Sports Illustrated article about their friend Nancy Lieberman-Cline. The article discussed an alleged sexual relationship between Nancy and one of her players that may have lead to Nancy being fired as coach of the Detroit Shock. TnT have been aware of Nancys sexual orientation for quite some time and even joked with her a bit about it in the past. This morning, they not only talked about Nancys sexual orientation and past, but the guys discussed a variety of issues surrounding the article including whether or not it is right for any coach to have any sexual relationship with a player, regardless of what sex they prefer.
Travis caused Husker fans everywhere to gasp in unison this morning when he announced his Lock of the Week. Attaboy is taking Nebraska giving 14 to Notre Dame on Saturday. It took Dodge Count Duke all of about 2 seconds to phone the show and term Travis as the French kiss of death before melting down in a Husker frenzy. It was petty funny stuff. Travis also announced his choice for Box of the Week, which is Illeana Douglas. Check the Box of the Week animation on the main TnT page for a photo of exactly who she is. By the way, TnT were pleased with Travs selection today because the actress actually fits the spirit of the Box. She could be considered hot to some while causing others to vomit at the thought of knocking it out with her.
Pat Hazel from the Funny Bone came in this morning and hung out with TnT for a bit. The guys have given Pat a hard time in the past but they seemed to get along fine throughout Pats time on the show. They discussed the old Bakers Card Shark commercials Pat appeared in before moving on to other things in his career. Pat worked closely with Jerry Sienfeld, opening for him on the comedy circuit years ago and writing some of the American Express commercials Sienfeld has done. Hes also been making the rounds doing various corporate comedy shows across the country. Pat also talked a bit about working on a script for a TV show called Toys Were Us. Pat also spent a bit of time talking about how he got his start in comedy here in Omaha by doing magic tricks. TnT also spent a bit of time talking with Pat about Husker fans and freaks. You can catch Pat all weekend at the Funny Bone by calling 493-8036. Keep in mind that there is only going to be one show on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
Todd and Tyler wrapped up their show this morning by talking to their old buddy Chad from Ticket Express (398-1999). Chad said that hes got very few Husker tickets left and spent some time talking with TnT about how such high profile games like tomorrows affects ticket prices. Give him a call or visit www.huskertickets.com to get hooked up with all of your ticket needs.
Well, thats the update for today. Tune in on Monday from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
