Monday 9-24-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their appearance with Larry the Cable Guy at the Royal Grove on Friday night. They were pleased by the great response their Lincoln listeners gave them, even after Donnie dropped a joke about Frank Solich’s deceased father. TnT also spoke a bit about other things that went on this weekend. Tyler attended a party in Plattsmouth and was shocked to here someone refer to the nighttime darkness as being “as black as a stack of cats”. Donnie and Brian spent one of the weekend nights drinking beer with firemen in Springfield. Todd didn’t mention doing much this weekend other than grilling up some food during his son’s football game. He also briefly mentioned how every football team in his life, whether pro, college or peewee, got their butts handed to them. TnT also discussed the Friday night telethon that took place on all the networks.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and thanked TnT and their listeners for coming to his show. He also delivered a commentary on Madonna’s whacked out comments about the war on terrorism the United States are currently pursuing. Stay tuned daily for more from Larry.

TnT spent a little time talking about the Miss America pageant that took place over the weekend. They bounced around http://www.missamerica.org” target=blank>www.missamerica.org and looked at the ladies for a bit as Brian detailed what he saw. It was his opinion that the hottest one, Miss Tennessee, was voted out by the other ladies because she was too hot. Brian came in and did the news and entertainment news this morning. To wrap up his entertainment cast, he gave TnT one of the worst stories in recorded history about how a woman was charged $20,000 for a water bill because of a leaky toilet. TnT scolded him so perhaps he won’t pick kicker stories like that anymore.

TnT had a very interesting conversation with Peter Greenberg from the Travel Channel this morning. The gang spent a great deal of time discussing various places in the world that Peter has been, as well as talking about recent changes in airport security. Todd got some travel tips from Peter, too. The gang also discussed some of the best and worst places in the world to travel and it was interesting to hear Peter say Cuba and the Middle East were nice places to go. The guys may speak with Peter again in the future so stay tuned.

Early in the show, Tyler told a story about something that happened on Friday night. The gang rode to Lincoln with their promotion’s director, Jimmy the Giant Peach, and at one point in the night, Tyler lost an earring in the Peach’s vehicle (but didn’t know it). Peach found the earring later and confronted his girlfriend with it. She said it was not hers and then her suspicions arose. If it wasn’t hers, after all, who’s was it? The Peach phoned Tyler to see if it was his but Tyler wouldn’t claim it, as he wanted to see the Peach squirm a bit while his girlfriend accused him of fooling around. After sharing the story, TnT opened up the phone lines and took calls from listeners with similar stories. The guys got calls from listeners who had screwed with their buddies similarly as well as getting a few calls from people who had busted or had been busted due to accidentally leaving something behind at the scene of the sexual encounter. One of the funnier calls came from a listener with an evil laugh who, after finding out his best friend had nailed his girlfriend, went and nailed the girlfriend of his best friend.

Unexplained quote of the day from Tyler, “I was caught cheating once and she took me back, but it was her own stupid fault.” I laughed like Corky in a pudding factory.

TnT wrapped up today’s show by reading a few e-mails and continuing taking calls from people who had an “I was busted or nearly busted cheating when my lady found bla bla” stories.
