Monday 10-1-01

Todd and Tyler began their show today by discussing a variety of things that took place over the last few days. The first Husker in TnT’s Husker Lottery was busted over the weekend. John Bowling got ticketed for failure to disperse on, I believe, Friday night when he wouldn’t leave a 2am party after the police asked him to four times. John also took a seat upon the police car, which may have been the final straw for the officers. As you will notice, Dodge County Duke has John Bowling as one of his Husker Lottery picks so he is the first winner of the season. Also early in the show, the guys spent some time complaining about the airlines, Delta in particular. Tyler’s dad is scheduled to fly into town soon and he wanted to get the ticket changed so he could come in 3 days earlier. Mysteriously, the $280 ticket quote would have been jacked up to $1000 for the schedule minor schedule change. Tyler was pissed, Todd agreed and then Tyler detailed how his fiancée Becky let the airline have it when she phoned them as well.

Early in the show, TnT spent a bit of time talking about a high school football game that was recently cancelled because the referees had tickets to see the Nebraska Vs. Rice game. The high school game was scheduled for that Thursday night to begin with and then the Husker game was rescheduled due to the events of September 11^th. The referees who were responsible for the game decided they’d skip their obligations to the high school and go see the Huskers in stead. As you can imagine, TnT were pretty upset about the irresponsible, idiotic decision made by those refs.

Speaking of the Huskers, for the first time Todd and Tyler came out on the air and mentioned directly that Eric Crouch is the father of a 2-year-old girl. They’ve been referencing his child indirectly quite often over the past few months but after seeing that ESPN is going to talk with Eric about his baby, they felt as though they were obligated to bring it up. When Travis came in, he and TnT got into a heated argument about whether or not Crouch having a kid was newsworthy. Travis thought it was a non-issue but Todd and Tyler disagreed. To solidify their argument, TnT mentioned the World Herald’s front-page coverage of Josh Brown getting dumped by his girlfriend. If the news felt that was a story, then why wouldn’t the illegitimate child of the starring quarterback be?

TnT spoke with a dream expert this morning named Gillian Holloway. She’s written a book titled, “The Complete Dream Book”. The guys spent some time asking her a variety of questions related to dreams such as various ways to interpret them, why nightmares occur, the wet dream phenomenon and other types of dreams. Gillian took a few calls from TnT listeners and gave them interpretations of their dreams as well. She was pretty interesting although I don’t think Todd and Tyler believed some of the stuff she was saying. After all, if you dream about nailing your hot neighbor, maybe you just want to nail your hot neighbor. It’s not necessary to interpret that as meaning that your car’s tires are under inflated and your thumb is extra bendy.

TnT continued taking calls about dreams throughout the remainder of the show. Even though they’re technically not dream annalist experts, they did a fine job of sorting out the details of their caller’s dreams and pointing out exactly when the caller was simply whacked. Todd and Tyler also continued discussing the baby of Crouch.

J Medicine Hat came in this morning and hung out with TnT for a while. He talked a bit about some of the recent shows that have taken place at the Funny Bone over the last few weeks as well as joining in on the topics of the day. In the later portion of the show, the guys spent a bit of time reading and discussing a list of 10 things a father should and shouldn’t do when his daughter brings home a date. They also went over some items a new boyfriend should and shouldn’t do when he meets his date’s father. Medicine Hat, Todd and Donnie all have daughters but J’s is the only one who is of dating age. He shared a few stories about a guy his daughter is dating and from the sounds of it, if Medicine Hat ever gets his hands on the grubby little bastard, the kid will be doing more than just screaming out the dirty name of an imaginary racehorse. Todd talked about how his daughter isn’t quite old enough to date and mentioned that if he has any say in it, she’ll never date. If she does, he’s going to attempt to intimidate the hell out of any potential boyfriends. Donnie’s daughter is only 5 or so and she isn’t allowed to car date for another two years (North Bend style) so he doesn’t have much to worry about for the time being.
