TnT Show 10-02-2001

Tuesday 10-02-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a variety of things in the news and on their minds. Both agreed that they are getting a little antsy for military action in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th. They also spent a bit of time reading a few hate e-mails from their listeners. The first was a Husker fan that was bragging about how the Huskers are doing so well and none of them have gotten in trouble with the law as TnT suspected. The author of that e-mail obviously neglected to mentally digest the John Bowling troubles TnT talked about yesterday. The second hate e-mailer was pissed at Travis for being a Husker suck-up. TnT seemed to get a kick out of that one.

TnT also discussed how Susan O’Rourke, presently the new news anchor on Fox’s 9pm broadcast, appeared in a Pamida advertisement in the Sunday World Herald where she was modeling bras. The guys spent some time pining over the photographs and then talked about other local news people they’d like to see model bras. It didn’t take long for TnT to mention nearly every female news anchor in town by name. Listeners phoned in and filled TnT in on exactly where and what Pamida is, many giving obscure details that no one really gave a crap about. Throughout the remainder of the show, TnT kept going back to the discussion about Susan O’Rourke’s bra advertisement and, at one point, wondered what Travis would look like in the same outfit.

Unexplained quote of the day: “I don’t want to drink anything with penis in it.” I’ll let you try to guess who that quote is attributed to.

Travis wasn’t with the show this morning because he opted to go to Iowa and check out the Iowa State press conference instead of the Husker press conference. Sitting in for Attaboy was Brian, who delivered a very good sports update. Travis will be back tomorrow.

Kevin McKenzie from the Great Plains Counseling Center came in this morning and spent a few hours with Todd and Tyler. The gang spent several hours discussing a variety of mental health related issues. Some of the topics that came up included how people are dealing with their emotions relating to the terrorist attacks, how some people are handling their feelings towards Muslims and they also spent some time taking calls from listeners with relationship questions of all sorts. Brian’s flirtatious nature also became a topic of interest for a while today. TnT gave Brian a hard time for being such a flirt and after hearing a few stories about Brian, Kevin agreed that he probably has some issues he needs to work out. The entire exchange about Brian’s flirting was funny as hell. If you missed it, tune in for Saturday’s “Best Of” show. Perhaps Donnie will have that segment ready for you to hear. You can get a hold of Kevin or any other counselor at the Great Plains Counseling Center by calling 292-7712.

To wrap up the show, TnT spoke with Pauly Shore. Pauly’s coming back to the Omaha Funny Bone on October 11th through the 13th for a special engagement. The Bone will also be doing a premier of one of Pauly’s new movies on Saturday the 13th. To begin the conversation, Pauly sounded like he had just gotten up. It took him a moment or two to become coherent and stop singing unintelligible lyrics. After that, Todd and Tyler discussed a variety of Pauly’s projects including “Spooge”, his documentary that prominently features Todd and Tyler, as well as another movie titled, “You’ll Never Weiz In This Town Again”. TnT also asked Pauly about being at the 20th Anniversary of MTV but he didn’t seem to dig it much because it was nothing but rap music. I think Pauly may have also dropped the N-Bomb during that portion of the conversation. To conclude their interview, TnT spent some time discussing Pauly’s act, which is going to include about 15 minutes on the terrorist attacks and the Taliban. It sounded like pretty funny stuff so you won’t want to miss it. Pauly will be in studio with Todd and Tyler one day during the week of his Funny Bone appearances. Stay tuned for further details. Also, make sure you phone the Funny Bone now to get tickets to see Pauly. Phone 493-8036.

That’s it for the update today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
