TnT Show 10-10-2001

Wednesday 10-10-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the Nebraskans for Peace rally yesterday. Not as many people showed up as one might expect. The guys talked a bit about their disagreement with the ideals of the Nebraskans for Peace people and pointed out that we are at war and nearly 7000 American casualties have already been taken. Also early in the show, Tyler called Channel 7 a bunch of assholes because all of there weather graphics took up the whole screen last night while he was trying to watch “Philly”. The graphics were so bad that, at times, the actors faces were even covered up. TnT were also pissed that the World Herald was, once again, late in arriving the radio station as well as the QT Tyler stopped at on his way to work. The paper finally ended up arriving around 7am.

TnT also spent some time wondering why the national media is giving bin Laden so much “face time”. They concluded that the media was trying to offer equal time, similar to what they have to do during political races, so they don’t come across too one-sided. The guys thought it was ridiculous for the national media outlets to continue giving bin Laden and other members of his group as well as all of the anti-American protesters so much time on the air.

Last night was the first installment of the Caravan of Creeps. Todd and Tyler came right out and said that they didn’t know why they were even there last night. Both of them stressed that they had no problem whatsoever with the Delta House or the haunted houses involved in last night’s appearance. They did, on the other hand, express a great deal of anger towards the sales people at the radio station who set the whole outing up. During their discussion of last night’s event, Todd and Tyler wondered who’s brilliant idea it was to mesh a happy hour situation with a haunted house situation. Normally, the people who would be interested in going to a bar for happy hour might be men from the ages of 21 to 49. Those same men are most likely not going to be interested in going to a haunted house unless they’re taking their kids, as Todd pointed out. After venting their frustrations for a while, Donnie came in and gave a great description of Haunted Hollow. He didn’t have enough good things to say about it, as he described the place in detail. Even TnT thought that particular haunted house/area sounded pretty cool.

At one point in this morning’s show, Brian tried to use the laws of Physics to explain why short people have bad hearing. I could explain this but it’s much funnier not to.

Early in the show, the guys got into a discussion about Brian’s flirting. TnT’s short guy friend also named Brian had told TnT he saw BW flirting with a hot blonde named Mandy after they left the Arena Sports Bar on Monday night. When the guys mentioned it to Brian, he disputed it and said he was just talking to her. Mandy phoned the show and told TnT exactly what had happened and from her account, it definitely seemed like she felt BW was flirting with her. From there, Brian continued to dispute the charges of flirting with a hot blondy with a huge rack and he seemed legitimately upset for a while. During that discussion, Donnie spent some time spewing random bits of “I hate midget” propaganda, for lack of a better explanation.

All the talk of Brian’s flirting and TnT’s reaction to it lead the guys into a discussion about what it’s like to work with Todd and Tyler. Donnie and Brian both said that TnT can be difficult to work with on occasion and TnT didn’t dispute that. The guys did say, though, that they could be much, much harder to work for. Brian and Donnie tried to convince TnT that when they do something wrong, it would be suitable for TnT to talk to them off the air about it and get things squared away. Todd and Tyler disagreed and said that they like to shake down their employees on the air. As a listener, I’d have to agree with Todd and Tyler. It’s much funnier to hear TnT yell at Brian for another dead kid story or at Donnie for being a neck than it is to hear about TnT yelling at them.

Rob Little from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with Todd and Tyler for a bit today. He’s going to be opening up for Pauly Shore this weekend but until then, he’s headlining the Bone. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to have a very good time. Rob shared a story about Sean Gnant spooning with a hammered chick that Rob thought was mildly retarded. The She-Corky in question phoned in and said she wasn’t a window licker, she was just really, really drunk that night. She also said that she slept with Sean but didn’t have sex or make out even though she was topless. TnT concluded that they didn’t knock it out because Sean’s gay. Rob also talked with TnT about his audition for “The Tonight Show”. Check out his web site at http://www.roblittle.com” target=blank>www.roblittle.com and call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to make reservations to see Rob. He was very cool and (surprise! that’s sarcasm) funny as hell! Don’t miss his show at the Bone.

From “Ed”, Todd and Tyler spoke with NBC.com - File Not Found target=blank”>Jana Marie Hupp this morning. The guys have spoken to her before and it was nice to see that she was just as sweet today as the last time TnT interviewed her. The guys discussed the cable TV she watches, what it is like being on a show that makes her recognizable and where she was during the terrorist attacks on 9-11. It turns out that she enjoys educational TV, everyone thinks she’s an old girlfriend or someone they went to school with and she left her home 12 blocks from the Trade Center to go shopping in Target for 3 hours to escape all of the terrorist coverage. She even went over her Target shopping list with TnT. Make sure to tune in to “Ed” tonight for the season premiere and look for the character Nancy, as that will be Jana!

Unexplained quotes of the day from Donnie: “Ex’s are people too!” “You just can’t talk in front of midgets.”

TnT phoned Deb Ward of Channel 3 to congratulate her on becoming the new full time anchorperson on the Channel 3 news. She seemed pleased with the change but also said that she will continue doing the investigative reports she’s been doing for years. Deb also joked around with TnT a bit in regards to female newscasters who model bras. Tune in Channel 3 to catch Deb in action. You’ll probably have to imagine her in only a bra, though.

Rob McCartney from Channel 7 phoned in this morning and talked with TnT for a bit about a variety of things. They discussed the media’s coverage of the war before Tyler yelled at Rob for Channel 7’s weather graphics. Rob mentioned that they are trying to figure out a way to be less invasive. Rob also spent some time talking about the effects of a drug called GHB. The drug was mentioned during Attaboy Travis’s sportscast after he reported on a pro football player who sucked down a bag of corn nuts and did a header into a coffee table (“Heathers” reference, sorry. I’ve been watching that too much lately). Check Rob out on Channel 7 and feel free to imagine him in only a bra as well. I’m sure he likes that.

Todd and Tyler are supposed to be at the Eddy’s Conoco in Elkhorn at 204th and Dodge Street from 11am to 1pm today. They are going to have a bunch of strippers hanging out with them, the same ones from the last Eddy’s Conoco adventure. Several of the strippers phoned the show today to talk about the event, one of which sounded as raspy as Marge Simpson’s chain smoking sisters (a scary mental image just popped into my head). Stop out and see the guys.

Well, that’s the update for today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
