Thursday 10-11-01

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by talking about a new book that claims Hitler was gay. A few humorous butt ranger-ish comments were tossed around, leaving me with a disturbing mental image, before they moved on to other issues. Also, the networks have agreed to edit bin Laden’s future video tapes in order to stop any hidden messages within the clips from getting to his followers still within the US borders. TnT thought it was a step in the right direction but felt that it would be even better if we stopped giving bin Laden so much credence all together. Yesterday’s stop at the Eddy’s Conoco station was a success. The guys spent a bit of time talking about the appearance and the Boomers dancers who showed to hang out and flash their cans at people.

Tyler’s got a problem with his ass. For the last week, he’s been kicking out Plutonium-laced ass bombs of butt wind, choking all in the studio with his noxious gas. His anal assault continued this morning as Donnie attempted to salvage everyone’s olfactory glands by spraying a citrus air freshener into the atmosphere. It obviously didn’t work to mask the odor because when Travis first came in the studio, he asked, “Who pooped an orange?” Tyler also mentioned he’s been blocked up for a couple of days, the kind of blocked up one might get after eating a brick of Velveeta. Luckily for all in the room, I believe Tyler finally dropped load during the commercial at 9:25am.

Unexplained quote of the day from Travis: “My wife’s cervix doesn’t move.”

The guys received an e-mail from someone within their building that detailed a story about a woman who was dating an Arab man. As the story goes, the woman was stood up on a date about a week before September 11^th. Later, she went to the Arab man’s apartment to see why he stood her up and found his apartment to be empty. Following that, she received a letter from him telling her not to get on any commercial airliners on September 11^th or to visit any malls on Halloween. What was interesting about the story is that Tyler’s fiancé Becky had heard the exact same story but the person she heard it from claimed it actually happened in town to a friend of a friend of a friend. TnT thought the whole story smacked of urban legend and their thoughts were confirmed when a listener pointed them in the direction of http://www.snopes.com” target=blank>www.snopes.com, an urban legend reference on the web.

The message board on a web site called Slam Omaha had a discussion thread about Todd and Tyler and their CD. Earlier this week, the guys were talking about how their CD moved to the #1 spot in Homer’s local CD listings. In the national prospective, they were second behind a CD by Tenacious D. TnT had never heard Tenacious D, who I guess do some sort of song parody thing, and they talked a bit about it. Well, some Tenacious D fans got all up in arms about TnT’s comments and went to the message board mentioned above to bash the guys. TnT read many of the posts and talked a bit about the whole situation before moving on.

Travis came in this morning and gave his Lock and Box of the Week. The reason for doing both today instead of tomorrow is because Trav’s wife is going the hospital at 8am tomorrow to be educed to give birth to Justice Baby #3. His Lock of the Week is Colorado at home – 8 against Texas A&M. His Box of the Week is Tracy Ullman. Travis didn’t get to do much of a sportscast today because the Ed McMahon and Polly Shore interviews came about.

TnT spoke with Ed McMahon this morning. Ed promoted a new television show based on his recent Internet venture called “Next Big Star”. The premise of the new show is based on the old “Star Search” idea but the behind-the-scenes people have tweaked it to include more of what works and less of what didn’t in the old “Star Search” format. TnT also spoke with Ed about his time in the military, where he flew 85 combat missions and trained pilots to land on aircraft carriers. It was another great interview that I’m sure we’ll all be hearing on a Best Of show in the near future. “Next Big Star” is going to be airing on PAX every Sunday night from 6 to 7pm for the next year or so, as they’ve gotten a 52 week contract so make sure to tune in.

Pauly Shore came in studio today and hung out with TnT for a bit. When he arrived, TnT were in the middle of their conversation with Ed McMahon. Pauly joined in on the conversation and mentioned to Ed that he would be willing to do something with “Next Big Star” in the future. Ed seemed receptive to the idea so who knows what may come of it.

During Pauly’s visit, the guys spent some time talking with him about the movies he’s been working on including “Spooge”, the documentary Pauly filmed in part with Todd and Tyler several years ago. They discussed the Semen Center scenes as well as the parts where Pauly ate testicles at the Round The Bend Saloon in South Bend. Tyler talked about a few other scenes in the movie as well and mentioned to Todd that he would bring him the movie so he could have the chance to view it. TnT also took some phone calls from Pauly Shore fans that wanted the chance to talk to him.

Pauly’s other film, “You’ll Never Wiez In This Town Again” is currently being shopped around but you can watch the movie on Saturday afternoon at the Funny Bone. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 and they will take down your name. Then, arrive at the Bone on Saturday afternoon with a cash donation and you will be admitted. Keep in mind that 3 nickels, some used dental floss and a Canadian quarter is not considered a cash donation so make sure you bring at least $5 per person, preferably more.

Towards the end of Pauly’s visit, the guys tried to hook him up with a local lady who could provide Pauly with some secretarial assistance. Basically, Pauly was looking for a hottie between 20 and 30 years old who could type really fast and didn’t mind if he touched himself occasionally while spouting off his random thoughts from bed. The calls flooded in and the group of guys asked each caller a variety of questions. In the end, the very first caller to offer her services to Pauly seemed to be the best and was given the temporary position.

Pauly Shore is going to be at the Funny Bone tonight through Saturday night. I just phoned the Bone (2:15pm) and they said there are still some tickets for the 10:15 show this evening but the rest of the shows have been sold out. Call 493-8036 pronto to get your tickets reserved for Pauly’s show tonight. Also, I believe they still have room for the movie screening on Saturday.
