TnT Show 10-15-2001

Monday 10-15-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing their weekends. Tyler went to Kansas City with his dad to watch the Chiefs Vs. Steelers game. He reported that he didn’t run into any asshole Chief fans as one might have expected. He speculated it was because the Chiefs lost that game. Tyler also talked a bit about the Kansas State campus and atmosphere, as he and his dad bounced around the campus a bit on Saturday. Todd tried to catch some football at a local sports bar but because the place was full of tables of 8 being taken up by two guys and he couldn’t get a seat, he didn’t seem to enjoy himself. The “Greetings From Throckmorton” CD is now available at all local Quick Trip convenient stores as of today.

Also early in the show, Todd read over a few Barely A Pulse articles from the paper. There are bats in Memorial Stadium and someone at the World Herald oddly finds that amusing, not frightening. TnT talked about how the Champion’s Club in Lincoln still owes the contractors who built the place 2.1 million dollars. The guys thought that the excuse the Champion’s Club people gave for not paying the remainder of their bill was incredibly lame. The Champion’s Club people claimed that they fell 30% short of their targeted memberships of 400 and, therefore, were short on money and couldn’t afford to pay the remaining 2.1 million that they owed. TnT continued talking about that throughout the show.

Trisha Meuret from Channel 7 came in for Brian this morning and did news. Brian’s away all week in the Bahamas so Trisha will be sitting in. She did an excellent job of playing along with Todd and Tyler’s style of news and fit in quite well. It was nice to hear a female voice in the news chair again. TnT visited with her for a bit and talked about the small town in Nebraska she grew up in. They also discussed her education in Lincoln and tried to guess how old/young she is but she wouldn’t give it up. Also during Trisha’s time on the show, the guys found out that her parents own a grain elevator or something, as well as owning a turkey farm. She confirmed that turkeys are indeed incredibly stupid animals. Trisha will be back tomorrow so if you missed her news this morning, tune in early and catch the Tuesday version.

Travis came in this morning and did sports. Before he arrived, TnT spent a bit of time wondering why Travis had not called them to fill them in on the new Justice baby. TnT seemed pissed that Travis hadn’t phoned them over the weekend and thought that because they are good friends with Attaboy, he would have at least called them to tell them the baby was born and everyone was okay. When Travis did come in, he brought some photos of his new daughter, Mary Francene Justice and talked a bit about the bad movies he watched while waiting for his wife to deliver. Surprisingly, Travis didn’t take a nurse out to lunch while his wife was giving birth, as he did when his son was born. Instead, he let Dr. Ed take him to the exclusive doctor’s cafeteria.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning. Before delving into his commentary, he talked about the upcoming October 30th release of his newest CD. The guys also wondered who Larry would be cheering on in the race to the World Series. He’s been a life-long Braves fan but the Diamond Backs have been using the “Gitter Done” sound clips from Larry during their games. Larry flip-flopped about 5 times during the conversation so I’m still clueless on who he’ll be pulling for. Oh yea, his commentary today was about the food drops in Afghanistan. He wondered why we’re dropping them peanut butter and was pissed that some of the Afghan people are feeding the dropped food to their donkeys.

As the show progressed, TnT continued to talk about the man who fell out of the stadium in Kansas City on Sunday. It was a topic early on the show but spawned a larger discussion later in the program when Tyler retold his tale about visiting Arrow Head stadium over the weekend with is dad. Tyler was close to where he landed but didn’t actually see the drunk crash. A few Steelers fans that were at the game phoned in to talk about it, as did several listeners who watched the game on TV. Although the TV broadcast mentioned the incident, they didn’t air the video of the guy’s fall.

Cricket Communications, new wireless company, is coming to Omaha and to kick off the company’s launch tomorrow, they’re going to work with Z-92 to offer discounted gas prices tomorrow. From 7:30am to 9am at the Fantasies station right off of 147th and Maple Street, gas prices will be dropped to 92 cents per gallon. There will be a 15-gallon limit, by the way. Cricket and other Fantasies locations all over town will also be taking part in the price drop but the prices will be 99 cents at those locations. I didn’t catch all of the other locations and times because I was in the car at the time but all of you Todd and Tyler fans can take part in the 7:30am to 9am price drop at Fantasies tomorrow during the TnT show. I believe Big Pussy will be heading out to the location to give TnT updates on the mayhem that will most likely ensue. Make sure you stop on out and get some cheap gas on behalf of the Todd and Tyler show and Cricket Communications tomorrow!

Last week at the Todd and Tyler Conoco remote, two strippers named Jamie and Miami gave a listener named Joe a dinner and night out on them because he won the girls’ “Best pair of boxer shorts” contest. Joe phoned TnT today and informed them that neither of the two strippers had gotten a hold of him yet. TnT phoned Jamie and Miami but neither of them answered the phone. TnT left them both some lengthy voice mail messages and asked why they stood up their winner. For the remainder of the show, they awaited return calls from the dancers but neither of them checked in. Todd and Tyler were amazed that the strippers lacked commitment to their obligations.

Todd and Tyler phoned Rob Little from the Funny Bone. He opened up for Pauly Shore over the weekend and TnT wanted to get his reaction to the shows. He said that Pauly was pretty cool although he didn’t speak with him much. Rob is going to Detroit end Seattle for some comedy festivals and eventually, he is going to be on Leno. He said he’d phone TnT ahead of time and let them know when that comes about. He also confirmed that he got a little nookie this weekend from a skinny Omaha lady. Check out his web site at www.roblittle.com and feel free to e-mail him if you were at any of his shows.

Chirsten, the listener that Pauly Shore got via the TnT show to act as a secretary for him over the weekend phoned in and gave TnT a report on exactly what she did for Pauly in his hotel room. She said that she just typed a bunch of jokes for him and tried to help Pauly organize his thoughts. She said that she also went to the late Friday night show and Pauly didn’t even hit on her or her friends.

Tonight is another edition of Monday Night Football at the Arena Sports Bar. The winner of tonight’s field goal contest can have their choice of the wrestling tickets or the “best seat in the house” chairs. The 5th row wrestling tickets are for next Tuesday’s WWF event taking place at the Civic. Stop on out to the Arena tonight and hang with Todd and Tyler!

Well, that’s the update for today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then visit here in the afternoon for a new update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
