Thursday 10-25-01

Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by talking about last night’s Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. They had a great time and, after a night of drinking, the guys were surprisingly uncrabby this morning. Donnie’s little boy is doing a bit better but the guys gave him the rest of the week off to spend time with his son. That meant Big Pussy was with the show again today playing the roll of the kinder, gentler call screener. Early on, Pussy talked with TnT about how he has mastered the art of sleeping in class. They also talked about how one of the hottie waitresses from the Arena Sports Bar has been sitting next to Pussy during his Geography class and trying to help keep him awake. When he starts to nod off, she just bops him in the head with her huge cans.

The guys had a staff meeting yesterday that related to the anthrax scares. TnT talked for a bit about the meeting before going off on all of the ass kissing employees who asked questions that had already been answered just to extend the length of the meeting. The guys thought it was pretty stupid of the brown nosers to ask the questions they did just for the purpose of not having to go back to work right away. TnT took a few calls from listeners who concurred that even in their line of business, there is always at least one ass kisser who’s got to ask a bunch of questions that have already been answered just so it looks like he/she cares more than anyone else about their job.

Last night on Fox’s 9 o’clock news, Travis and the news anchors had an interesting exchange of dialogue. TnT didn’t see the conversation but luckily for them, their lawyer friend Michael tapes every episode of the Fox news. Michael went to his tape archive and transcribed the entire conversation and then sent it off to TnT. What the guys found interesting was that during the conversation, Travis seemed to be giving his co-worker Susan “The Bra” O’Rourke a hard time about being nervous about the upcoming Huskers Vs. OU game on Saturday. Attaboy basically reminded her several times that, ”It’s just a game”. Later in the show, the gang reenacted the conversation with Todd playing the part of Taylor Wilson and Sean Gnant taking on the roll of Susan O’Rourke. It was pretty funny, although in a strange way, sad at the same time.

Okay, I know this has nothing to do with the show this morning but I think it’s amusing. As I write today’s update, one of my cats is crouched upon my kitchen counter in the “ready to strike” position literally barking at a somewhat browning banana.

The guys played another Husker clip of the day which you will need to know in order to qualify for their $1000 Huskers beating Oklahoma guarantee. If you heard it this morning, stay tuned to Z-92 throughout the day and listen for the audio clip of former Huskers singing "Oklahoma". Related to the Husker clip of the day, the guys got a call from the man who actually made the play featured in the audio clip. The guys talked with him for a while about that game, his career with the Huskers and some of the family members he has that have or are playing football currently. In order to avoid people not listening to the show and coming to the web page for details on the clip of the day (cheating!), I won’t reveal his name or any details about the play.

The guys spent nearly 10 minutes analyzing a caller who has been phoning for the last week or so. The guy basically just calls in and utters some unintelligible noise into the phone. TnT find it quite amusing and talked in length about the character. I wish there was more to write about the conversation but, well, the guy just goes “aaaaaaahhhhh” for a really long time.

Sean Gnant and Eddie Gosling from the Funny Bone came in this morning and hung out for a while. During Brian’s entertainment report, Sean started talking with TnT about the now infamous spooning with a retarded girl story that involved Sean and a listener named Christy. Christy phoned Todd and Tyler and she and Sean went back and forth for a while about the details of the story. It was great hearing the two bicker about whether Sean lent her a “Nestlé’s Quik” shirt or whether it was his “Trix are for kids” shirt. Down To Here stopped by the TnT studio this morning and performed a few songs for the guys. They will be playing at the Freaker’s Ball on Friday night along with the Labels and the Fish Heads. Speaking of the Freaker's Ball, it is taking place on Friday night at the AmeriSports Bar located in the Ameristar Casino. There is going to be a costume contest as well as the musical entertainment. The winner will receive a $1000 prize. Second place gets $300, third place gets $200 and the best pair/group prize is $500. To wrap up the show, TnT spoke with the hottie Jessalyn Gilsig who plays Lauren Davis on Fox’s “Boston Public”. She talked with TnT about how she got the part and she teased the very excited Tyler about some of the things that will be taking place during the new season that premiers on Monday night. She was very cool and seemed to enjoy talking with TnT about the show. Check it out next Monday, it’s a great program.
