TnT Show 10-31-2001

Wednesday 10-31-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing Travis’s first night on the Channel 3 news. There was a strange glitch during the 5pm broadcast that briefly covered up Attaboy’s face and TnT thought for a bit that someone might have been screwing with him on his first night. Todd and Tyler were also mentioned quite a few times during the anchor’s “happy talk” with Travis. Humorously enough, even though there was plenty of mention of Travis’s radio gig with TnT, there was no mention whatsoever of Travis’s former station of employment. They also mentioned that the World Herald finally made reference to Travis’s career change. TnT didn’t seem surprised that the Lincoln paper reported it first because the Word Herald, after all, doesn’t have a broadcast section any longer.

On one of the TV news magazines last night, they did a big report on a bunch of Arizona college students who video taped themselves using and making extacy. TnT discussed the show as well as the drug itself before opening up their phone lines to anyone who had tried it. They were curious about the effects of the drug, including it’s side-effects/drawbacks. From what they saw on TV last night, the only drawbacks to the drug are that guys can’t get erections and some guys have the tendency to make out with their male buddies while jacked up on the drug. Several listeners checked in and shared their experiences with “X” and all but the first caller said that the drug does not make you want to grab your buddy’s package.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned in this morning and delivered a commentary on how he turned his trailer into a twisted, redneck form of a haunted house. He also mentioned that his new CD, “Lord, I Apologize” is supposed to be in stores now. Stay tuned to TnT for more from Larry as the week progresses.

The Channel 7 Players came in this morning to perform some Halloween-related skits for the TnT audience. Dr. Ed, Rob McCartney, Poop Scheutz, Pam Jones and Bill Randby each took on a variety of rolls from three movies. They began with scenes from “Ghostbusters”, followed up by “The Blair Witch Project” and concluded with “Young Frankenstein”. Each performer did a stellar job and seemed to have a lot of fun with TnT today. Currently, some 8 hours later, my ears are still ringing from several of Pam Jones’ performances this morning. Before the gang left, Todd and Tyler replayed their “TV people farting” conversation that took place a few months ago and will be on one of their upcoming CDs. Everyone seemed to laugh, including Dr. Ed who pondered why he, as a medical professional, still gets a kick out of fart jokes.

Bone Pecker, a new band made up of a couple of the guys from the Mercuries, came in studio today and played a few very cool songs for TnT. They talked about how the band formed for a while and then mentioned that they will be playing at the 49er tonight. Stop on out and see them!

Towards the end of the show, TnT spent a bit of time discussing the age at which one might stop trick-or-treating. The conversation comes up every year around this time and each year Todd calls his mom to find out when he stopped trick-or-treating. It seems he has a tendency to forget the answer to the question from one year to the next. Anyway, the guys phoned Todd’s mom today but she didn’t answer. Instead, they discussed what they could remember from their own childhoods, when they moved from begging for candy to soaping windows and throwing eggs as well as talking about how lots of kids who they consider too old for trick-or-treating don’t dress up yet still go around trying to get free candy.

Well, that’s the update today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for an update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
