Monday 11-5-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a little World Series talk. The Diamond Backs defeated the Yankees to win the title this year, which made both Todd and Tyler pretty happy. Todd won a case of beer from the King of Promotions, James the Giant Peach. Tyler was just happy because he hates the damned Yankees. There was Husker talk scattered throughout the show today as well. The Saturday game was a horribly boring blowout (again) so the guys focused for a while on the troubles the Huskers should expect next year when they lose Crouch.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on how he believes we should jail bin Laden instead of killing him so the greasy little prick can endure countless years of anal rape instead of getting killed and, therefore, getting off easy. The World Series also came up in TnT’s discussion with Larry, as did yet another session of “You sum’bitches should be gitt’n my CD any day now”. Tune in for more from Larry as the week goes on.

The guys got into a discussion about annulments in the Catholic church early in the show. I don’t remember exactly how the conversation came up but it lead into some interesting conversation. Donnie and his wife (#2) had tried to get an annulment in the past but through some situations that he won’t talk about on the air, it obviously didn’t work out the way they had intended it to. TnT tried to coax Donnie into talking about it but were unsuccessful. Instead, they opened up the phone lines and took calls from listeners who filled them in on the dirty details of annulments, including problems people face trying to obtain one, the “life story” book one must write for the church and the overall cost structure of the procedure.

TnT spoke with Bob Reno from http://www.badjocks.com” target=blank”>www.badjocks.com again this morning. They discussed the recent Nashville cheerleader video taping incident as well as talking about a variety of other sports-related crimes/troubles that have taken place since TnT last spoke with Bob. There was discussion of Dennis Rodman rubbing dice on the crotch of a bald man, cheerleaders doing “girl stuff” rituals and large black men twisting one off in someone’s front yard. I’m sure TnT will be speaking with Bob again in the near future so if you missed today’s discussion, don’t freak out and nail your buddy’s girlfriend only to find out two years later that the baby she had with him is actually yours.

Todd and Tyler spoke with Debra Ward from Channel 3 today. As you may recall, Deb sent a news crew into the TnT studio on Friday morning to get TnT’s reaction to the Husker casket story she was doing. The clips aired on Friday night’s 10pm news but both TnT missed it. Donnie attempted to get a tape this morning but seemed to hit a brick wall with the Channel 3 people. During their discussion with Deb, TnT also mentioned that they will be making a Channel 3 television appearance on a show called “Son of Sanguinary”, a creature feature-like show Channel 3 must slip into the late night hours in between infomercials.

Donnie’s 1-year anniversary to his wife (#2) is approaching. Todd and Tyler spent some time this morning trying to guess what sort of celebration Donnie has been planning for his new wife. After ruling out a trip to Branched Oak to camp and the Alpine Inn to watch rodents feast, TnT seemed to narrow down Donnie’s plans to staying in a hotel room somewhere in Omaha. Donnie wouldn’t directly say what he had planned though and he surely wasn’t going to tell Tyler, as Tyler has been known to blow surprises in the past. The discussion spawned calls from listeners who had stories about anniversaries, most of which involved tales of someone forgetting the anniversary altogether.

Tomorrow Kevin McKenzie from the Great Plains Counseling Center will join Todd and Tyler for another “Trained Counseling Tuesday” adventure. Kevin usually arrives around 7am so make sure you’ve all got your questions ready for him first thing in the morning.
