TnT Show 11-06-2001

Tuesday 11-6-01

Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by discussing Brittney Spear’s new video. They both dug the video because of it’s “soft-core porn” feel, but agreed that the song, like most others by the teen hottie, sucks. They also spent some time discussing the 43-year-old man who was busted for having sex with two consenting teenagers (16 and 17-years old). TnT talked about a variety of issues relating to the case including the age of consent and whether or not they would have done the same thing provided two drunk, alleged whores had visited them at home wanting a little som’thin som’thin.

Also an early topic on today’s show was the guy who tried to fly from Chicago to Omaha with a bunch of knives and a stun gun. TnT spent some time discussing the idiot and used this case as a reason why the government should take over control of airline security. They urged their Omaha listeners to phone Lee Terry and ask him to change his mind on voting against the federalization. To wrap up the early morning segment, there was some Monday Night Football reaction and from all accounts, TnT had yet another great crowd out at the Arena Sports Bar. Another edition of MNF will take place next week.

Kevin McKenzie from the Great Plains Counseling Center came in this morning and hung out with TnT for a while. He brought with him his Power & Control Wheel, which Todd and Tyler took turns sitting upon and gleefully spinning circles. Nearly all of the phone calls today involved some sort of abuse in a relationship. An unsettling majority of the ladies who called in seemed to justify reasons that it would be okay for a man to hit a woman. The reasons they gave varied but all seemed to have the same eerie feeling to them. TnT, along with Kevin just couldn’t understand why any woman would justify being hit for any reason. That seemed to be the theme of Kevin’s entire visit today. A woman would call in and give a reason that it would be okay for her to get duked by her man and then Kevin and TnT would rebut her comments. Kevin will be stopping by the show again in a couple of weeks so make sure to tune in. Until his return, feel free to phone the Great Plains Counseling Center at 292-7712 if you need to talk with someone…and quit beating the hell out of each other!

Todd and Tyler spoke with UNO coach Pat Behrns this morning. They discussed the upcoming teams UNO must face as well as talking about recent injuries and the Division 2 ranking system. TnT will be speaking with coach Behrns again in the future, as the UNO Mavs get closer to the end of their season.

Jeff Dunham, a ventriloquist who will be appearing at the Funny Bone on November 11th and 12th phoned TnT today. The gang talked a bit about airport security. Because Jeff travels with his very expensive dummies, he takes their heads on as carry-on luggage. He shared a few of his experiences before he slipped into character and pretended to be the old, crabby guy “Walter”. Tyler was obviously amused all to hell by the idea of talking with a ventriloquist on the radio but he was able to pull through the phone call without letting his heightened enthusiasm and excitement get in the way. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations to see Jeff’s show.

To wrap up the show, TnT played the audio recorded from Channel 3’s Husker casket story, in which they were featured along with their friend Scottie from Husker Hounds. Debra Ward, who produced the story, referred them to as “Husker curmudgeons” but both TnT seemed to get a kick out of that. They were, however, appalled at one detail mentioned in the story. One of the 19 Husker casket owners was recently buried and of the 400 people who attended the funeral, only 100 were family and friends. The other 300 sick son-of-a-bitches went to the funeral just to see the damned casket! TnT ranted about those idiots for a while before drawing their show to and end for the day.

Well, that’s the Tuesday update. Although Todd and Tyler didn’t get into the article they mentioned earlier in the show about the 50 things women wish their men knew, I’m sure they’ll have plenty of time to discuss it tomorrow. Tune in from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
