TnT Show 11-15-2001

Thursday 11-15-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing some technical difficulties they were having in the studio. Todd’s microphone wasn’t working so he had to move to the other side of the room in order to talk. There, however, he couldn’t answer the phones because the screen and phone system is set up on the other side of the room. The guy’s delay system was also giving them troubles. Whenever the delay was turned on, TnT sounded muffled and somewhat crackly. I believe the guys even had some troubles getting their headphones to work as well. Todd’s journey across the desk screwed up the show mojo for a couple of minutes and during that time, TnT pondered airing a “Best Of” segment until an engineer could come in and fix the problems. Figuring airing a “Best Of” would screw their listeners, they stayed on the air and quick fixed Todd’s microphone troubles by having Donnie run a cable from his area, a closet-like room filled with big metal computer boxes and a pin-up poster of a naked Irma to Todd’s normal position in the room. Even though they still had a few minor technical difficulties throughout the remainder of the show, TnT rose above it all and performed yet another hilarious Todd and Tyler radio program.

Last night was another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. TnT enjoyed the show very much and spent a little time talking about the evening. Brian came in and did the news, which, as usual, the guys discussed in detail during the first hour or so of the show. Surprisingly, no one in the studio had to poop so, for the first time in two days, there were no poop-educed commercial breaks to split up Brian’s report. Also a note of interest, throughout much of today’s TnT show, Larry the Cable Smoker made appearances. TnT discussed how they heard through the grape vine that Larry the Cable Guy secretly hates Donnie’s Larry the Cable Smoker act and has even asked several people to ask TnT if they will stop doing the bit.

TnT spent some time this morning talking about a Cosmo article that detailed 99 things women should do to a naked man. Basically, the article tried to tell women a bunch of sexual things that most men would enjoy. TnT discussed the first few on the list amongst themselves but then opted to have female listeners join in on the conversation with them as to avoid sounding like homos. They switched lady callers several times during their initial discussion of the list, getting different points of view on several of the article’s points from each of them. After a while, the guys put the discussion on hold in order to talk with their first guest.

Todd and Tyler interviewed Larry Hagman this morning. You may know him from his roll in “I Dream of Jeannie” or as J.R. on “Dallas”. He’s recently put out a book called, “Hello Darling”, a biography about his whacked out life and claims the reason he wrote the book is because he was bored. TnT discussed his liver transplant as well as touching on Larry’s wild drug use, which included trips on acid and peyote. Larry also shared the story about how Jack Nicholson introduced him to pot about 30 years ago. TnT discussed Larry’s TV career, mostly centering on “I Dream of Jeannie” and “Dallas”. Larry was pretty cool and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT.

Dana Altman from the Creighton Blue Jays spoke to TnT his morning about the upcoming basketball season. There really isn’t a lot to detail about the conversation, though. I’m sure TnT will talk with him again as the season progresses so stay tuned. Good luck to Dana and his Blue Jays this year!

David Testone from the Funny Bone came by this morning and hung out with TnT for a couple of hours. He talked a bit about his wife, Colorado (where he is from) and the bird he and his wife are raising. David also joined in on the Cosmo article discussion when TnT reintroduced it during the last hour of the show. Catch David at the Funny Bone this weekend by calling 493-8036 for reservations. He will be opening up for Ron “Tater Salad” White, who will be headlining the shows all weekend as well as joining TnT in studio tomorrow morning.

Towards the end of the show, TnT spoke with their old friend Victoria Jackson, who performed at UNO last night. She remembered TnT from their last visit several years ago and said that she loves the guys. Her call today consisted of Victoria telling a travel horror story about a drunk guy on an airplane who was wrestled down into a bathroom by a DEA officer. The story was pretty funny in and of itself but Victoria’s telling of the tale made the story much better. Perhaps TnT will speak with Victoria again in the future.

That’s the big Thursday update. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another show and then check back here tomorrow afternoon for the Friday update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
