Monday 11-19-01

Todd and Tyler started off the big Monday show by discussing the meteor shower that was supposed to be taking place over the weekend and, I believe continuing on to this morning. Due to cloud coverage, they speculated that no one was able to see it and the people who had gotten up early to check it out would have to wait another 95 years for the next big meteor shower to occur. They then moved on to discussing a couple of football players who were busted for crimes including a smoking pot NFL guy and a gate avoiding UNL student. The one who avoided a parking lot tollgate was Husker Josh Davis and he happens to be one of Donnie’s Husker Lotto picks. Another sports related topic that was brought up early in the show was the story about some high school cheerleaders who were suspended after a banner with the word “rape” was displayed during a football game. TnT talked about the story for a while, which is detailed at http://www.badjocks.com” target=blank>www.badjocks.com, including a photograph of the banner.

TnT spent a bit of time discussing their release of “Wood Eye” this weekend. They made appearances at a QT and a Homers on Saturday and from all accounts, the CD is selling excellently. The 108^th and L Street store even reported selling out (although they had more this morning at 5:30 when I went in). TnT thanked all of their fans for picking up the new CD and urged anyone who doesn’t have “Wood Eye” yet to pick one up today.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned in this morning and delivered a commentary about how much he hates going to weddings. Larry the Cable Smoker made an appearance during Larry’s visit with TnT today and the real Larry’s dislike for gay Larry was pretty obvious. TnT mentioned to the real Larry that they would kill gay Larry when the real Larry gets them the promised interview with The Official Website of Major League Baseball target=blank>Luis Gonzalez. From the sounds of it, Larry will be getting to work on that pronto.

At one point in the show today, Todd mentioned that he and his girlfriend stayed at a downtown hotel over the weekend. While downtown, they went to eat and then took a “Handsome Cab”, the horse-drawn buggy, to the Civic, where they watched a UNO hockey game. Tyler was floored when he heard the story because such activity, as he explained, “goes against everything we stand for”. Throughout the show, Tyler piled on Todd for being so “old Omaha” and punctuated most of his comments by playing the Homer Simpson “Queer, queer, queer” sound clip. When Travis came in, he applauded Todd for his romanticism and said that the buggy ride to the Civic was “cool”. Tyler, of course, disagreed and then played the Homer sound clip for Attaboy Travis, too. Later, a listener phoned in and said he saw Todd that evening. The listener then explained to Tyler that Todd was wearing a Don Johnson-ish “Miami Vice” jacket. That only further fueled Tyler, as he humorously played the “Miami Vice” theme song to celebrate Todd’s alleged homoness.

Tyler went to the Funny Bone over the weekend and saw Ron White perform. At one point in the evening, he and Ron were having a conversation and Ron offered to tell Tyler about a great way to make a woman climax. Oddly, Ron said that he had to charge Tyler $4 for the information and requested that if Tyler used the technique and it worked for him, Tyler would have to give Ron another $4 each time he sees him in the future. Tyler explained the positioning of the technique and for the most part, he did a fine job. Todd and Donnie attempted to absorb Tyler’s description, at one point using drawn stick figures as illustrations, and seemed to understand the basic concept of where who and what went. To further serve their faithful listeners, this sexual position knowledge which cost Tyler $4 will be demonstrated tonight for free at the Arena Sports Bar as Donnie will attempt to get Big Pussy “engorged”. Make sure you swing out tonight for that disturbing visual.

Todd and Tyler utilized the phones this morning by bringing up an interesting topic; dating already pregnant women. The discussion came up early in the show when Todd mentioned an ad he had read in the paper. The ad was from a woman who seemed to be looking for the father of her child, who she had obviously met at a bar and had a one-night stand with, never hearing from the guy again. Through a few twists of conversation, the guys landed on the dating an already pregnant woman tangent. TnT opened up the phone lines to listeners with stories to share and I can honestly say that this topic spawned some of the most disturbing, funny and scary phone calls I’ve ever heard on the Todd and Tyler show.

To begin with, the first call came from a guy who was phoning from a jail cell. He talked about hooking up with an APW (already pregnant woman) and eventually he ended up adopting the child. Later, he and the mother got a divorce and now the guy’s in jail for not paying child support. That tale, as you can imagine, set the tone for the rest of the disturbing calls that filled the last hour and a half of the TnT show today. Seriously, there were just some amazingly strange stories this morning. One lady talked about a biker with a rubber hand that fell in love with a pregnant woman who wouldn’t admit she was pregnant. Did I mention the biker had a rubber freak’n hand!?!? Another guy turned a 17-year-old APW gay, later turning her friend gay too and then the two gay women ended up together. There was a story about a pool playing guy who hooked up with an APW for only 3 days, had sex with her in a movie theater, then found out she was pregnant, and spent the next year avoiding her because she was stalking him. There was an odd story about a guy who hooked up with a stripper that eventually gave up 4 kids for adoption, one of them his biological child who he’s been looking to find for about the last 20 years. He was a tad bitter, I might add. Another call came from a Native American guy who talked about how his brother, “an old Indian skirt chaser” nailed his APW girlfriend while they were going out. I warned you. The topic definitely spawned some of the most disturbing, funny, and scary phone calls I’ve ever heard on the Todd and Tyler show. It was great!

To wrap up the show, Bruce Patrick came in studio and announced that on Thursday and Friday from 6am to 6pm, Z-92 will be playing clips from the Todd and Tyler show. That’s right, 24 hours of TnT! Make sure you tune in as the long holiday weekend kicks off at 6am on Thursday morning.
