TnT Show 11-21-2001

Wednesday 11-21-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by reading a couple of e-mails. The first was from a man who claimed to have found “Wood Eye” in his car after letting his son borrow the vehicle over the weekend. The e-mailer complained about the content of the CD and basically called TnT the scourge of the universe. The guys got the feeling that the e-mail was fake because of several references to things that occurred on the TnT show that weren’t necessarily on the CD. The second e-mail was from someone who claimed to be a former neighbor of Donnie in Benson. That e-mailer was upset at Donnie for his comments about his house in the hood. Also early in the show, Brian was late arriving to work because he hit a few too many snooze bars. Before he arrived, a listener phoned in and told TnT a rumor off the air about Brian that is floating around his neighborhood. It turns out that the rumor is that Brian is gay and, oddly, a black man.

TnT spoke with Senator Ben Nelson this morning. Ben recently made a public friendly wager with a Senator from Colorado in regards to this weekend’s NU vs. Colorado football game. TnT wondered whether Ben had given the Colorado senator the points, as the Huskers are favored by 10 ½. Ben told TnT that he didn’t give the Colorado senator the points and then moved on to talking about a variety of other friendly wagers he’s had with other political figures. The guys also spent some time discussing the new airport bill that just went through, as well as talking about jumping out of airplanes and going on safari. It was cool to hear from the Senator again and I’m sure TnT will be in contact with him again in the future so stay tuned.

TnT opened up the phone lines for much of their show for any listener who wanted to call in with frivolous, silly or selfish things they are grateful for this Thanksgiving. The guys didn’t want to take a bunch of serious calls and for the most part, their listeners played along with the concept of the morning. People talked about a variety of things they were thankful for including women who have breasts, Diekmans, various outfits worn by Vegas cocktail waitresses and much more.

http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_show...olbert.jhtml” target=blank>Stephen Colbert from Comedy Centrals “The Daily Show” spoke with TnT today. He’s one of the guys who does the wacky interviews with clueless people all the time. He discussed a special airing tonight with a bunch of his past interviews as well as spending some time talking to TnT about his career with “The Daily Show” over the past few years.

Blue House came in studio and played a couple of original tunes for TnT. Even without their bass player, the guys still sounded awesome. They did a tune called “Grease the Cat” and another titled “She Lies”. You can catch Blue House at the 83rd and L Street Grandmothers tonight at around 8:30pm for their annual pre-Thanksgiving show. Stop on out and see Blue House. You won’t be disappointed.

Larry the Cable guy phoned TnT this morning and delivered a commentary on eating turkey for Thanksgiving. There really isn’t too much more to say about Larry’s call this morning, though. Tune in next week for more from Larry the Cable Guy on the TnT show.

Travis did his Lock and Box of the week today because TnT won’t be doing a live show on Friday. He’s chosen Colorado getting 10 ½ against the Huskers as his Lock. His Box of the week is Greta Van Susteren from CNN.

J Medicine Hat swung by the studio again today and hung out with Todd and Tyler for a couple of hours. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to have a good time visiting with TnT again. You can catch Medicine Hat at the Bone for the next few weeks. Call 493-8036 for reservations.

Well, that’s the update. Tune in on Thursday and Friday from 6am to 6pm as Z-92 will be doing Todd and Tyler’s Thanksgiving with your mom. Then join TnT back on Monday morning from 5:30am to 10am for another live show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
