TnT Show 11-26-2001

Monday 11-26-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a variety of topics. Both TnT gave a little Thanksgiving reaction before moving on to some of the other things that took place over the weekend. Todd went to Arizona and checked out the ASU game. Although he was not present during the fight that took place on the field, he elaborated a bit on what he heard started it all; a guy jumping up and down on the mid-field mascot painted in the grass. The Husker loss was another point of interest this morning. The guys didn’t dwell on it too much but they did discuss how bad the defense looked, the Huskers getting knocked out of the championship game and how Crouch can kiss his Heisman goodbye. Donnie went so far as to calculate how much each player on the defense owes Crouch for helping to screw him out of the Heisman and, consequently, the estimated $5 million signing bonus.

On a related note, TnT talked about some of the horrible, appalling, disgustingly pitiful local TV news coverage of the game, before and after. They wondered why drunken people who are supposed to be representing Nebraskans somehow always end up on TV looking like total assholes. Tyler mentioned several specific reports he had witnessed, one of which was a guy yelling, “This town SUCKS!” on camera. Oh yea, the Sports Illustrated jinx was also mentioned related to the Husker loss a few times during the show.

When Travis arrived, the guys continued their discussion about the Husker loss to Colorado over the holiday weekend. They then discussed other good looking teams in college football, the need for a playoff system, and they also speculated on the variety of possible bowl match-ups that will be panning out shortly. Scottie from Husker Hounds phoned in and also joined in on the Husker loss discussion. He tried to offer up a “we’re not mathematically out of it yet” spin to the Husker’s championship contention but TnT would have nothing of it. I don’t believe Dodge County Duke phoned in this morning. Perhaps someone from the Fremont area could go check on him and make sure he’s not swinging naked by the neck from a shower rod with a Valium bottle throat bulge and a McCormick’s bottle up his ass?

During Todd’s travels this weekend, he snagged a copy of “Sky Mall” magazine from the airplane. The guys spent some time this morning talking about the odd, eccentric items for sale in the magazine and wondered who would buy such things. They concluded that people who have nearly everything might enjoy such strange products because, logically, they’ve got everything else already. The read through the catalog and talked about many of the items listed, a great deal of which were pet related.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning. He spent some time talking about the Husker loss before angrily ranting about the airline industry and how he and another neck friend of his were searched while a group of Arab looking men were not. His commentary this morning was about food, Thanksgiving, large fecal excretions, and how there is not enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Tune in as the week progresses for more from Larry.

During Brian’s entertainment report, the guys got into a lengthy and in depth discussion about “The Goonies”. Todd and Tyler seemed to know nothing about the “deliciously dizzy adventure with crowd-pleasing fun!” –Kathleen Carroll, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS. Brian and Donnie also had only slight knowledge of the “cinematic treasure trove of breathtaking action, dazzling effects and shiver-yer-timbers thrills!” Several callers checked in to tell TnT about the movie and from there, the guys got off on a tangent discussing the wide range of movies the guy who played “Sloth” was in. Join Tyler in his basement tonight as he partakes in a Sloth movie marathon.

J Medicine Hat came in studio this morning and hung out with TnT for a while. Along with joining in on the topics of the day, J also shared a strange dream he had that involved the TnT show and it’s various cast members. Fortunately, it wasn’t a sex dream so no one had to worry about J sneaking up on’em for a good old fashion drunken-butt-sex-in-a-satellite-dish-full-of-coke encounter of manly love. J will be in town at the Funny Bone through this weekend and tonight is the X-rated show. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations and catch J before he gets rock star famous in Sin City, allegedly.

TnT won’t be at the Arena tonight for MNF. Jessica Dol will be, though. I don’t know what the story is on that because, honestly, no one tells me anything and I get all of my TnT show knowledge just like you do; by listening. Anyway, tune in tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am for another epic Todd and Tyler show. Then, check back here in the afternoon for the daily update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
