TnT Show 12-04-2001

Tuesday 12-4-01

Todd and Tyler stared off their show this morning by reading over a few e-mails from listeners who like the 3rd Shift Replay. They also discussed a bit of TV last night. Tyler checked out “Ed” and Todd watched the “48 Hours” show that they discussed yesterday with Erin Moriarty from CBS. Also, Channel 3’s third news story of the night showed several kids playing video game football together in order to determine the outcome of a football game that hasn’t taken place yet that could lead to the Huskers ending up in the game for the national championship. They ranted about the terrible news story for a while and touched briefly on the whole Husker situation. They didn’t go into too much detail on the Husker talk, though, because, as Donnie put it, Husker calls “are like a virus to the show”.

A North High student named Mike phoned TnT this morning to tell them what he knows about the Fred Felps group that plans to protest in Omaha on Friday. Mike said that the kids at North High are being told to ignore the protesters and are being encouraged not to cause any physical harm to the group of religious nuts. He also talked about how the students are putting up ribbons on trees and in the windows to show support to their principal, a good friend of the now deceased man and part of the reason Felps’ group chose to picket North High.

After recovering from a show mojo stealing free plug call that, understandably, really seemed to piss Tyler off, TnT spoke with Larry the Cable Guy. It took Larry two phone calls to get a good connection but once he went from Cable Vader to regular Larry, he told TnT about an exciting event for him. Tonight on the Billboard Music Awards, Larry and his hottie girlfriend are going to be sitting right next to Creed. Chances are high that, because this nation has been brainwashed by the likes of Lynn Taylor, Creed will win an award or two and Larry will probably get on TV. Larry didn’t go on to do a commentary but promised the guys he would deliver one tomorrow, along with a little Billboard Awards reaction. Check your local listings for the award show and see if you can spot the neck in the confederate flag hat with his hands down the pants of Scott Stapp.

A caller from an organization called FOUR, Friends Obtaining United Respect, phoned TnT this morning and told them about how his organization is planning to counter act the Felps group when they come to town on Friday. The caller said that they have people who will be wearing small angel wings and those people will surround the Felps group to attempt to peacefully block them off from being viewed by the students of the school. TnT liked the idea and then took contact information for the group, omaha_four@yahoo.com.

Todd and Tyler talked with http://www.opd.ci.omaha.ne.us/media/pio.htm” target=blank>Officer Meg Fricke, the spokesperson for the OPD about the protests that are being planned for Friday. They asked her some questions about what might and might not be allowed during the anti-Felps protests in front of North High and Forest Lawn cemetery. Meg filled in the guys and stressed that the police would like peaceful protests. The guys may speak with Meg again before the end of the week so stay tuned.

News Chick Brian pounded the phones this morning and was able to get actual times and places of the Felps clan protests that are scheduled for Friday morning. He spoke with Cheryl from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS and she said that the group of hateful religious people will be protesting in front of North High School at 11am for 30 minutes before moving to Northwest High School to protest at 11:45am for another 30 minutes. From there, the group plans to protest the Forest Lawn cemetery from 12:30 to 1pm. Now that TnT, their listeners and all of the people in town who will counter-protest Felps have the times and places, a good crowd of Z listeners should have these freaks run out of town fast. By the way, a wonderful number in the universe is 785.273.0277. I like to just shout randomly at that number sometimes, you know, calling the number a hateful bigot, that sort of thing.

TnT spoke with Deb Ward from Channel 3 this morning. TnT had been talking about the Victoria Secret catalog that has the $10 million diamond bra and wondered who they would like to see wearing it. After going through the list of local TV news hotties, they landed on Deb. After some speculation about whether or not Deb has the breasts of a black woman, she called in to clear a few things up. It was pretty funny. During her call, Deb called Travis a Husker suck up, which TnT got a huge kick out of. She also called the Playstation video game bit that aired on TV last night an “experiment” and said, “It went horribly wrong”. After that comment, TnT expressed their total adoration for Deb once again. Before Deb left TnT, she mentioned that it was her husband’s 50th birthday today so happy birthday Mr. Deb Ward.

Towards the end of the show, TnT spoke with RJ from the Fish Heads. After telling the guys about a bet he lost which required him to shave his head on stage over the weekend, he shared a great idea about the Friday protests that TnT really seemed to like. RJ suggested that TnT should put together their group of anti-Felps protesters and have them protest not the Felps people directly, but random, general things that don’t make much sense just to throw off the Felps people. RJ suggested protesting about putting mufflers on lawn mowers. From there, TnT spent some time coming up with their own ideas and taking a few calls and e-mails. For the most part, the guys wanted to stick with the “God Hates ___” theme, where they would fill in the blank. Some of the suggestions that they came up with were “God Hates Clowns”, “God Hates Mimes”, “God Hates Donnie”, and my personal favorite from a caller, “God Hates These Cans”.

To conclude their show, TnT spent the last segment of the program discussing animal urine. This was sparked after an early morning caller suggested that TnT load up squirt guns full of fox piss and soak the Felps protesters.

Well, that’s the big Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the Tuesday 3rd Shift Replay and then check out TnT tomorrow morning from 5:30am to 10am for another show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
