TnT show 12-17-2001

Monday 12-17-01

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by discussing their weekends. Todd went to Kansas City and to check out a pro football game. While there, he saw a couple of Husker fans about 10 rows behind him waving Husker signs. TnT talked about how stupid those people were because the Huskers are a college team and the game those fans were at was a pro game. The two have nothing to do with each other. Also early in the show, TnT spent some time sharing memories of the Columbus Wolf Puss, who Tyler ran into this weekend. He couldn’t recall why she was dubbed the Columbus Wolf Puss so Donnie came in and filled TnT in on the disturbing story, which involved a bikini contest, a wolf puss, a dry razor, toilet water, and a pie area covered in tiny, bloody dots of absorbent toilet paper.

In another humorous slip of the tongue, Tyler referred to his girlfriend as Balki instead of Becky today. It took Donnie all of 30 seconds to find the “Perfect Strangers” theme song. That particular slipup and the ensuing fodder teamed up with TnT’s short work week and upcoming long vacation seemed to set the tone for the entire show this morning; silliness. The guys talked back and forth and seemed to have a great time today, much like they do on any other day but this morning, there was just something different in the air. The show was just won of those shows where even though TnT didn’t latch on to any specific topic for any length of time, they were still very funny just being Todd and Tyler. They even broke out into song several times while discussing “Hooked on a Feeling”.

Tyler and Brian have been talking about a plot for a movie that they have come up with recently in their office. It was mentioned on the air this morning after a news story Brian did about an astronaut who is coming back home after spending the last 4 months in space. The guys wondered what it would be like to be the returning astronaut coming back to Earth after the terrorist attacks had occurred while he was on the space station. They discussed possible plotlines and other things the movie might need, things like dialogue, sub plots, and characters. The concept behind their possible script seemed pretty interesting, as nearly all space movies are about people getting to space, not returning home after life on the planet has been destroyed.

The guys spent a little time this morning discussing freaky fans. I believe the topic came up after someone mentioned the cable show “Fan Club” or “Fanatic” (or whatever). They spent some time talking about the crazy fans they’ve seen on those types of shows and then opened up the phone lines for people to rat out their freaky fan friends. The best call on the topic came from a woman who turned in her roommate for being a Nelson freak, yea, the twins with long, blonde hair that hit it big back in 1990 and have since disappeared. The caller detailed some of the strange things her roommate does in regards to her favorite band and then she put her roommate on the phone to talk to TnT. Both girls were very funny and seemed to be pretty light-hearted about it all. TnT continued the occasional discussion about freaky fans throughout the show.

Blue House came in studio today and played a couple of tunes for TnT. They began by doing “Blue Christmas” and had Todd, Tyler and Brian doing the “Do doo dooo doo do”s and they concluded their visit with an original tune titled “You Lied”, which was written about a bitter, failed relationship Joe from Blue House has had. The band mentioned that they will be performing some private parties over the holiday season but will be back out and about for all of us to enjoy after the New Year.

The guys talked a little today about how their comedy friend Tammy Pescatelli, who performed at the Funny Bone all weekend, got a high colonic while visiting town this weekend. They wanted to get her on the phone to discuss the colonic but she had already left town. Instead, they opened up their phones to anyone who had received such treatment. They wanted to find out what it was like as well as what purpose it serves. Although they didn’t get any calls from anyone who had actually had it done to them, they did get several informative calls from people who had either witnessed a colonic being given or knew someone who has gotten/given one. One caller who saw one given explained the technical details and supposed health benefits of the procedure while another caller told TnT about the machine used for colonics that he saw when he went in for a massage. As I mentioned earlier, the guys were in a pretty silly mood this morning (very enjoyable to listen to, I might add) so you can only imagine the fun Todd and Tyler had with this topic today. Honestly, TnT are the only guys I know who could make talk about high colonics, the intervals of pooping, and bacteria in the bowels hilarious. Check out tonight’s 3rd Shift Replay beginning at 10pm and you can relive this morning’s colonic discussion.

As TnT wrapped up the show, they reintroduced most of the topics they had discussed during the earlier portions of the show such as their idea for a movie script and freaky fans. They also continued on the colonic discussion with talk of the longest interval of time in between bowel movements. The guys also tossed around the idea of trying to figure out whom they could get to do an on-air high colonic for the show. That idea may manifest itself in the near future so stay tuned.

Tomorrow Storm and Donette from http://www.ivorystar.com” target=blank>Ivory Star will be coming in the studio to perform a little Christmas music for the guys. Make sure to tune in from 5:30am to 10am for the second to last TnT show of 2001. Also, you can listen to this morning’s show during the 3rd Shift Replay again this evening beginning at 10pm.

That’s it for the update today. The show this morning was great, even though Todd didn’t think it was for some reason. Do yourself a favor and check out the repeat tonight at 10pm and you’ll see what I meant when I said the guys were just in a goofy, funny mood all morning. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
