TnT Show 01-17-2002

Thursday 1-17-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing a variety of things. To begin with, Tyler told us all about the amazingly raging pee boner he had at 2am this morning when he went to the bathroom. This lead into a discussion (and some calls) about various techniques of dealing with a pee boner, including one wildly ingenious idea involving sitting on the toilet backwards and using the rim around the bowl to hold your bear down while you go. The guys then read another “You suck,” email from a listener who is mad that TnT have taken over his station. On a related note, the guys were curious exactly what time last night’s 3rd Shift Replay show ended. They got some calls from their overnight listeners filling them in on the details and they seemed pleased to hear that the overnight people were indeed listening to the Todd and Tyler 3rd Shift Replay. Brian spent a little time complaining about a couple of things he found relating to his new car. The dome light and the rear defrost don’t work but that’s to be expected in a 13-year-old convertible. He didn’t bitch too much, though, because Todd and Tyler wouldn’t let him. After all, they didn’t want to hear any bitching about a $350 car that they spent a majority of yesterday’s show arranging for Brian. Not everybody has the opportunity to beg for a cheap car on the #1 rated morning show in town.

Also early in the program, Gene from the Brass Grille (1207 Harney) came in with a Dan Hill album. The record didn’t have the song TnT wanted, though. Instead they hit the net and found an MP3 file. From there, the Z Gees took over and performed a wonderful sing-a-long with Dan Hill moment. It was a beautiful thing, and it’s all about the sauce. Gene hung out for a while and joined in on the topics of the day, later being made fun of by TnT’s comedy guest for wearing pants that went out of style way back in the days of “Break’n”.

The guys spent some time today discussing age. There was an article in the paper about a 108-year-old man, supposedly the oldest Nebraskan alive. The guys were amazed at the age of the man and discussed all of the things he must have seen during his lifetime. Throughout their discussion, the guys kept taking significant moments in history over the last 100 years and then saying the age of the man during the event. For instance, the guy was too old for WWII and had retired by the Korean War. The guys also got a kick out the article mentioning that his two daughters, about 80-years-old, joined the old man during the interview.

During their talk of the really old guy, TnT wondered at what age you just give up on living or become bored with life. For the most part, everyone seemed to think that as long as you can get around yourself and are coherent, you’d want to live as long as you can. As you can imagine, TnT also brought up the sex angle and asked a variety of questions related to old people banging away. I believe it was at that point that the “Would you rather be caught humping an 80-year-old in a nursing home or a sheep in a barn” question revealed it’s sick, twisted, ugly head. Tyler talked about his days working in a nursing home for a while, too. TnT took calls on the topic for a while and during that time they received calls from listeners who had stories to share about very old relatives within their own families.

When Travis arrived this morning, he had a car full of clothes, was freshly shaven and had showered off the funk. He told TnT that he had a meeting with some consultants for his gig at Channel 3 today. The consultants were going to figure out what colors of clothing he looks best in as well as trying to help Travis determine what make-up would help to cover up his goiter-like neck and make him look more professional. TnT thought that Travis looks just fine on TV but they understand the world of the TV consultant, as did Travis who actually seemed to be looking forward to the professional’s opinions on his appearance. During their talk with Attaboy, Trav revealed that the new anchor on Channel 3, Greg Peters, actually as a professional airbrush-like machine he uses to apply his make-up, a machine that basically squirts his face with a layer of flesh-toned lacquer in order to make him appear TV presentable.

TnT spoke with Mark Walburg, the host of Fox’s “Temptation Island” program. Mark talked about the show and the participants as well as detailing his opinions on reality TV in general. At one point in the conversation, the guys asked him about all the hotties who appear on the show. Mark admitted that even though he is married, he was bummed that none of the fine young women on the show even bothered to flirt with him. Mark was super cool and surprisingly funny this morning. Oh, I should also mention that Mark is friends with Todd and Tyler’s in studio guest today and spent some time talking about playing basketball and other things with Kid.

As just mentioned, TnT were joined by Kid (formerly of the ‘80s rap group Kid & Play). He joined in on the topics of the day and with the exception of occasionally trying to take over the show, easily thwarted by the very talented Todd and Tyler, he played along quite well with TnT and seemed to be genuinely funny. The guys discussed a variety of things relating to his career such as the history of Kid & Play and the Kid hair style, the three “House Party” movies, all the groupie pie he got back in the day, as well as talking about his acting career and how he got into stand-up comedy. Kid also briefly touched on how Play went church. Interestingly, Kid name-dropped some very cool people to which is friends with, including Bill Maher of “Politically Incorrect” and a variety of the stars that appeared in his “House Party” movies. You can catch Kid at the Funny Bone tonight with Billy D. Washington by calling 493-8036. It should be a great show so make sure to get on out to the Funny Bone this weekend!

The guys will be joined by Funny Bone comedian Billy D. Washington tomorrow. They are also scheduled to speak with Erin Moriarty of CBS’s “48 Hours”. You never know what else might come up so make sure to tune in from 5:30am to 10am for the show. Keep in mind that if you missed any of today’s TnT show, tune in the mighty Z tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
