TnT Show 01-23-2002

Wednesday 1-23-02

Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by discussing a new twist on the Wayne Gimp story. It was reported that, not only was the Texas man held against his will for 9 days as a gimp, but he was also branded on the ass with a “W”. TnT speculated that the “W” signified Wayne somehow but were unable to get any solid proof of the meaning of the brand. The guys also spent some time talking about the NFL and the upcoming playoff games before moving into a discussion about last night’s “That 70’s Show” that aired on Fox. They talked about hot cousins they would have liked to nail before reading another e-mail from a guy named Bill that hammered heavily on Travis and Brian for being cheap.

As you may recall, yesterday TnT spent some time trying to brainstorm lyrical ideas for a song to the tune of “Chevy Van” using details of the Wayne Gimp story. They titled their song “Roger Van”, named after the flower shop owner who got busted. After yesterday’s show, they went into the recording studio and laid down the track. Today, they debuted their new song but before doing so, Donnie warned TnT that the tune may not sound very good. He reasoned that TnT didn’t have the background music going on when they sung the song because the music had to be edited and later added in order to fit for time. Anyway, TnT played the tune this morning and as described by Tyler immediately after, “The lyrics are good but that was just horrible!” The guys talked about the song for a bit before concluding that Joe from Blue House, who helped out by singing background stuff on the song, turned TnT’s performance “too professional” and because they weren’t their normal jackball selves while recording the tune, the song didn’t come across with the usual Houston Lawn Singers flare. The guys talked about fixing the tune later and vowed never to air this morning’s version ever again. If you missed it, it would be well worth it for you to tune in to tonight’s 3rd Shift Replay at about 10:15pm to catch the song, as it will most likely be the last time you’ll ever hear it in that form.

The guys spent some time this morning discussing movie quotes. The concept behind the discussion was from a list they read of movie quotes that would be cool or funny to use in real life situations. The guys read over situations one might be in and then the associated movie lines that would fit each one. It was a pretty funny list but due to all of the other activities that were taking place on the show today, they didn’t continue the discussion beyond the initial conversation.

TnT continued talking about the Wayne Gimp story as the show progressed. They read over some e-mails and took more phone calls from people who used to live in and around the Wayne, NE area. A caller named Matt from Wayne phoned them and offered to be their correspondent, an offer to which TnT took him up on. The guys asked Matt to visit various wind tunnels in Wayne and find out what the local buzz was about the story. Several times throughout the show, Matt phoned TnT from various locations. Each time, he told TnT that the locals wouldn’t talk about the story, especially to the media (which Matt had become a member of since taking on the roll of TnT show correspondent). Matt said he would try again tomorrow.

With all the discussion of gimp sex and bondage, TnT expressed once again that they just don’t get the whole bondage thing. After all, when they’re having sex, they want pleasure, not pain (unless it’s Tyler who likes his nipples seriously tweaked…don’t ask me how I know that, please). They opened up the phone lines and asked for calls from people who could explain the mindset of someone who digs whips and chains sex. One lady who phoned in, the lady who licked Travis’s gravy ring of a goatee a while back, told TnT all about her “light bondage” lifestyle. She also talked about the pleasure she gets out of being strangled while being nailed. The guys continued their discussion, touching on bondage, autoerotic asphyxiation (strangling), bondage secret codes and more throughout the show.

Funny Bone comedian/magician Kozak phoned TnT this morning. He will be appearing at the Funny Bone all weekend, including tonight’s Z-92 night at the Bone with Todd and Tyler. He’s been doing the Vegas thing for the last 3 years and seemed happy about finally making it back to Omaha. During the conversation, TnT caught up on old times and listened to him tell some really disturbing stories about his dog, which included talk of a $25/day pet resort and making feminine hygiene products out of cigarette butts and tea bags for his dog when she went into heat. He will be joining TnT in studio on Friday morning so make sure to tune in. Call the Bone phone at 493-8036 for reservations.

Warren Dersow and Sean Gnant from the Funny Bone joined Todd and Tyler in studio today. They joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to have a great time with TnT. Warren talked with TnT for a while about pot use and discussed his book titled, “You Know You’re A Pothead When…” Both of the comedians were great this morning (yes, even Sean!). Make sure to get out to the Funny Bone to catch their acts.

TnT spoke with http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/cas...rroddy.shtml” target=blank>Rod Roddy of CBS’s “The Price Is Right” show, now in his 16th year as the announcer for the program. He talked a bit about his new slot machine, the show itself, and the 30th Anniversary show of “The Price Is Right” that will air on CBS at 7pm on January 31st. The guys got into his beginnings in radio, which occurred in Oklahoma City but had ties to Omaha, as well as talking about his transition into television with a little show you may have heard of called, “Soap”. TnT asked about his whacked wardrobe, which he has made in Bangkok, and they heard a few other Bangkok stories from him as well. Mr. Roddy is going to be at the Harrah’s casino in Council Bluffs this Saturday at 6pm in the Mr. G’s lounge doing a big “Price Is Right” style thing centering around his new Plinko slot machine based on the show. He informed TnT that Harrah’s is the only casino right now outside of Vegas that has his new machines. Rod was super cool with Todd and Tyler today and made for a great, entertaining interview. If you missed it, check out the 3rd Shift Replay or tune in on Saturday morning for the “Best Of”.

Tonight is another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. Join Todd and Tyler and their gang for the show this evening, featuring Kozak. It’s only a dollar per person so call the Bone Phone now at 493-8036 for reservations.

That’s all for the update today. Tune in this evening at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and then rejoin Todd and Tyler tomorrow at 5:30am for another show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
