TnT Show 01-24-2002

Thursday 1-24-02

Todd and Tyler started off the show today with a little talk about last night’s Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. Kozak headlined the performance, doing a mix of comedy and magic and, at one point, throwing fireballs into the audience. Slave Boy Jeremy nearly ruined one of his props before the show began so TnT talked about how Kozak hammering him on stage for a while. Donnie was late to work this morning and after realizing that no one knew how to start the tape to record the show for the 3rd Shift Replay, the guys decided to call him. His wife answered and after a moment, said that he was still at home but was getting ready to leave. TnT talked to the sweepy widdle guy and gave him some crap for oversleeping. Somehow, with incredible speed, Donnie was able to get to work from his place in Benson in less than 20 minutes.

Also early in the show, James the Giant Peach brought in a T-shirt cannon that was given to them by J & M Displays. He tested out the apparatus with a hat and it seemed to work quite well. TnT took some more calls from people about the Wayne Gimp story. Many of them had stories to share about people they had heard saying that the Texas man deserved what he got. The guys expressed their disagreement with that mindset again and spent some time talking about it. TnT also discussed how Afghanistan is back in the opium business and shared sweet memories of when they once smoked opium with a comedian who came to town.

The guys spent time this morning discussing tonight’s dodge ball game against Elmwood-Murdock that is taking place at 7pm. They received some phone calls from students throughout the show who said that the crowd tonight should be pretty big. Donnie came in and gave the directions to get to the gym and mentioned that the first 100 people will receive Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star collector’s cards upon entering the gym. Make sure to wing on out to Elmwood-Murdock tonight and catch the excitement!

Brian brought up a story this morning about how a couple of the band members in On The Fritz came upon a car accident on their way home from a gig in Lincoln last Friday night. He told the story and then Wayne from the band phoned TnT and gave a detailed account of the incident. It was a great story and thankfully, it sounds like it will have a good ending. The mother is in the hospital but is expected to make it. The baby Wayne and his brother saved is doing just fine, having only received minor injuries.

http://www.dentbaseball.com/buckydent.htm” target=blank>Bucky Dent, the new manager of the Omaha Royals came by the studio today and spent a majority of the show hanging out with Todd and Tyler. The guys talked in depth about his time in baseball as a player and manager. They discussed his ‘70’s poster and also took phone calls from listeners who had questions for Bucky. The gang also talked about his baseball school and the upcoming training camp and season for the Omaha Royals. Bucky shared more stories than I could possibly document here during his 3-hour visit to the show. If you missed today’s interview, check out tonight’s 10pm 3rd Shift Replay. He was very entertaining and played along well with TnT. Now that he’ll be in town more often as the Royals’ manager, I’m sure Bucky will be speaking with TnT more frequently.

Warren Dersow from the Funny Bone stopped by the show today and hung out with TnT for a bit. He joined in on the conversation with Bucky Dent throughout the program and seemed to have a good time hanging out with TnT. Catch him performing at the Funny Bone all weekend by phoning 493-8036.

Tonight is the first of this year’s Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star games taking place at Elmwood-Murdock at 7pm. The doors and concession stand will open at 6pm and the first 100 people will receive Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star collector’s cards. Make sure to swing on out to the game tonight and watch the Massacre of Murdock, the Execution of Elmwood.

Well, that’s the big Thursday update. Kozak from the Funny Bone will join TnT during their show tomorrow. I’m sure they will have a little reaction to tonight’s dodge ball game as well. We should all expect the guys to be a little bit sore in the morning especially Tyler who’s going to get his new braces tightened for the first time this afternoon. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and then join TnT again tomorrow morning at 5:30am for another show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
