TnT Show 01-25-2002

Friday 1-25-02

Todd and Tyler started their show today by discussing last night’s dodge ball game that took place against Elmwood-Murdock. The guys won 5-2, their final loss coming in the last game of 7, occurred due to a terrible call by referee Jessica Dol. They talked about the games for a bit, touched on Brian being a dick by hitting a female teacher way too hard and then thanked everyone who came out to see them. They had an excellent crowd, as you will be able to see in the pictures. The guys also thanked all of the sponsors, including the people at Extreme Limo who provided them with a huge SUV limo for their trip to the game. They took some phone calls from people who attended the match for a while. As far as injuries went, Tyler mentioned that he sprang his ankle during one of the games and was a bit sore. Other than that, no one was injured and no one seemed to be all that sore. The guys did speculate that they would most likely feel the pain tomorrow.

Also early in the show, Tyler mentioned a show he saw on HBO last night called http://rw.hbo.com/schedule/bin/super...&request=VID&; “target=blank>“Nerve.com”, which featured a bunch of http://www.hbo.com/docs/av/masturbate_surestream.ram” target=blank>women being timed while the masturbated. He said that the camera only focused on their faces, though. A listener or two who had seen the program as well phoned in and talked a bit about how hot it was. Later, when comedian Kozak joined TnT, he too had watched the same show and spent some time talking with TnT about it.

Brian came in and did news this morning. He began his news by apologizing for thumping the female Elmwood-Murdock teacher with a dodge ball last night, the incident TnT were giving him such a hard time about before the newscast. From there, Brian delivered quite a bit of news today on a variety of topics including yet another crank house getting busted; this one surrounded and protected by a bunch of pit bulls and video surveillance equipment. The guys discussed a variety of the topics mentioned during the newscast and then moved on.

JR and Gunner of Acoustic Groove came in studio this morning and played a couple of tunes for TnT. They sounded great doing a Simon and Garfunkle tune as well as the Peter Gabriel tune from the film, “Say Anything”. You can catch them performing at the Brazen Head this weekend. During their visit, TnT talked with them about bands, band histories, and band breakups in the Omaha area. They offered a little trained counseling to other Omaha bands and got a few calls, including Jason, the former drummer from Star 69 and Donette from Ivory Star, who will be performing at the Ranch Bowl this weekend.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today from California. He delivered a commentary on the idiots in the Congo that were siphoning gas right next to a river of molten rock and ended up blowing themselves to hell. Larry said he would be checking in with TnT again next Wednesday so make sure to tune in.

A listener named Matt, Todd and Tyler’s correspondent in Wayne phoned the show today. He talked with TnT about what the locals had to say about the Wayne Gimp story. He’s been asking people their opinions on the tale on behalf of TnT for the last few days. For the most part, Matt said that the people of Wayne are not supporting Roger Van and many believe he will deserve any punishment he receives for sexually torturing his Texas Gimp for 9 days. As further developments come about, Matt will continue to check in from Wayne with details and opinions.

Kozak from the http://www.funnyboneomaha.com” target=blank>Funny Bone joined TnT today and hung out with TnT for a while. He joined in on the topics of the morning and shared many of his own stories with TnT. He talked about how he broke his leg about a year ago, which ended up starting a chain reaction of medical problems for him that eventually lead to him missing work for 8 months and spending all of his time getting hammered, smoking pot and snorting crushed up pain killers while sitting on his couch. Yes, he eventually had a stay in a rehab center and said he’s all better now. Kozak also talked to TnT about magic and illusions as well as the history of some tricks. TnT also got a great story out of Kozak about a magic trick gone bad where he was hog-tied and couldn’t escape without breaking a bone in his arm. Check Kozak out at the Funny Bone all weekend. He’s even doing a family show on Sunday for the kids. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. You won’t want to miss this show.

Towards the end of the show, TnT spoke with Omaha Lancer’s coach Mike Hastings. He attended the Omaha Sportscasters banquet last night and was awarded the co-sportsman of the year. TnT congratulated him on the award as well as his new baby boy, Hudson (a name obviously chosen by his wife because Mike didn’t really seem to dig it). Coach Hastings also told TnT that he was interviewed by the Fox sports guy last night and was asked about whom he was picking for the upcoming playoff games/Super Bowl. He referenced the Steelers and Tyler during his answer and afterwards, the Fox guy asked him if he could answer the question again without mentioning anything to do with the Todd and Tyler show. You can catch the Lancers playing in Lincoln tonight and in Sioux City on Saturday.

To close the show, TnT brought in Jessica Dol and gave her a hard time for the horrible referee call she made at the end of last night’s final dodge ball match. Her call forced Todd and Joe from Blue House to leave the game, leaving Murphy as the only teammate left. Todd stressed that he and Joe were not out when Jessica said they were and then fired her from being the referee in further games. Now, instead, Jessica will be joining the Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star team as a player. You can see her in action against Villisca next Wednesday.

Well, that’s the update for Friday. Tune in on Sunday at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and then rejoin TnT at 5:30am on Monday morning for another show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
