| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 04-03-2002 Wednesday 4-3-02 Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by discussing the unusually cold April weather. In there estimation, February seemed to have better weather than what were getting now and they both seem fed up with the cold. From there, the guys read an e-mail from news bootie call Trisha Meuret of Channel 7. She informed the guys that at 9pm on ABC tonight, there is going to be an hour long program called, Crisis in the Catholic Church, and one third of the show will feature the Father Herek story. Also early in the show, TnT discussed what they watched on TV last night. Tyler checked out The Osbournes on MTV and said it was a very funny show, although Ozzys totally lost his mind. Todd talked about the Dateline episode he watched which detailed a story about a plane that ran out of gas on its way to Europe from Canada. Both TnT were surprised to hear that a huge jet could glide nearly 25 miles once the fuel ran out and still land safely. TnT were joined by a listener named Mike, the guy who hit Brian with his car in front of the 20 Grand theater last week. He brought some breakfast with him, as per the agreement made when he called in last week, but neither Todd nor Tyler got to eat any of it because the food disappeared. Anyway, TnT brought Mike and Brian into the studio and each of the guys gave their accounts of exactly what happened. After hearing both sides of the story, TnT seemed to agree that Brian was the bigger hothead and was most likely more in the wrong than Mike. Brian didnt give Mike a make-up hug on the air but TnT mentioned later, that the two did give each other a squeeze. It is possible, however, that the hug didnt actually happen, as there is no photographic proof (and we all know what a homophobe Brian is). Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and gave a commentary on how the Cartoon Network is pulling the Speedy Gonzalez cartoons from their broadcasts because they claim it offends the Mexican population. TnT agreed with Larry that it was a little ridiculous and that the Cartoon Network is trying to be a little too politically correct. Stay tuned to TnT for more from Larry the Cable Guy. Senator Ben Nelson came by the Todd and Tyler studio today and hung out for just under an hour. TnT talked with him in detail about a variety of issues including the recent Washington DC anthrax scares, which kept the Senator out of his office for 95 days. From there the gang moved on to talk about Middle East peace, the bi-partisan support for the war effort, Ben explained the Global Community concept to Donnie, they discussed Nebraskas budget problem, the future of a prescription drug plan and more. Before Ben left, he also shared the details of his recent trip to Afghanistan. Senator Nelson told the guys that he would be unable to attend next Mondays charity dodge ball game at Millard West but he did leave a cash donation for the Svitak family. It was yet another very interesting, informative visit with Ben Nelson on the Todd and Tyler show today and hopefully the guys will have him back on the show again soon. Troy Roberts from CBSs 48 Hours phoned the guys today to talk about tonights episode featuring a story about a man who was abducted by gorillas controlled by Columbian drug lords while he attempted to ride a motorcycle from California to the southern tip of South America. The guy was held for a month, beaten and tortured before being released, yet he continued his motorcycle trip after being freed. Hes now on his way back up to America, currently in Brazil, and will be staying as far away from Columbia as he can on his return visit. It sounded like a pretty interesting story so if you are so inclined, tune into CBS tonight for 48 Hours. After their discussion with the 48 Hours guy, TnT spent some time talking about the man in tonights story. They asked Troy Roberts if it was even possible to drive from California to the southern tip of South America and Troy said it was. The guys then spent some time discussing the geography of South America. Wondering how cold the southern tip of South America might be, the guys whipped out an atlas to look for latitudinal lines of comparison. They were curious, considering south of the equator is now having its summer season, where in the Northern hemisphere would be comparable latitudinally so they could get an idea of the type of weather the motorcyclist would be encountering. Donnie seemed to have his hands on the map and after a few minutes of neck-ish confusion, he gave up and handed the map over to Todd. Yes, Donnie sitting with a map in front of him this morning was much like putting an encyclopedia down in front of a cross-eyed orangutan on a morphine drip and asking it for details on how nuclear fusion takes place inside of a star; very little would get accomplished. After Todd perused the visual aide, he determined that the southern tip of South Americas mirror image in the north would land you somewhere in northern Manitoba, Canada. During Brians entertainment report, he mentioned the story about the miniature horse that was chewed up by the dog not too long ago. Brian referred to the horse as scar face, as the doctors who treated the animal are allowing its face to heal as an opened wound. As soon as Brian said scarface, Tyler jumped in, without missing a beat, and said cockaroach, as Al Pacino did in the movie, Scar face. It was so bad yet hilarious at the same time. Its safe to say that Tylers Scar face ranks at about the same level as Todds Patton and Donnies Christopher Walken. As the entertainment news continued, TnT got into a lengthy discussion about the storyline of General Hospital circa 81. They took quite a few phone calls from listeners talking about the Luke and Laura love affair, as well as the rape of Laura that lead to her marrying her rapist. Lucky would be a bad name for a rape baby, Tyler said. Towards the end of the show, TnT brought in Jose from the Spanish speaking station down the hall for a little language lesson. Earlier in the show, Todd mentioned that before he went to Mexico on vacation a few weeks ago, he learned the term for asshole. Fortunately, he didnt run into any assholes while south of the border but Todd did say he wished he knew how to say excuse me because he occasionally bumped into people while walking the streets or visiting crowded areas. Jose taught the guys how to say, Excuse me in Spanish and stayed in the studio for a while to talk about Mexican boxers and soccer. Jose was very cool and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT as much as they enjoyed having him on their program. Perhaps Jose will be an in studio guest a bit more frequently in the future. Well, thats it for the big Wednesday update. Tune in this evening at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and then rejoin Todd and Tyler tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday edition of their program. The guys will have a comic guest, a musical guest and from the sounds of it, a full plate of topics to discuss. It should be a stellar show so dont miss it. Thanks for watching. Good night. Corby-
