Friday 4-5-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a few things from the World Herald. In the fashion section, TnT noticed a hottie who has appeared on one of the Sunday morning home shows. They spent a little time discussing her before moving on to Rainbow’s article, where she details why she wants to be a Cosby kid. As you can imagine, TnT thought the Cosby kid article was a bit silly, considering the show hasn’t been on the air in what, 10 years? Also early on, Tyler mentioned he talked to Big Pussy before coming on the air and found out a rather interesting story he shared after Brian finished the news. That story became the focal point of this morning’s show.

As we have all heard, Big Pussy was dumped by his girlfriend a while ago but he has been hovering around her as a “friend” ever since. TnT have stated on several occasions that such hovering is a bad idea and that Big Pussy should move on. Well, it seems that he hasn’t taken TnT’s advice. Several months ago, before he was dumped, Pussy and his girlfriend made arrangements to see tonight’s No Doubt show in Kansas City with some friends. Pussy paid for the hotel room and the tickets, tickets TnT found out that Pussy’s friend’s mother threw out. Even though Pussy and his girlfriend broke up, they still planned to go to Kansas City together as “friends” and stay in the same hotel room. On top of that, as mentioned a moment ago, Pussy’s friend lost the tickets but he and his ex-girlfriend are still going to drive down to Kansas City tonight even though they won’t be able to get into the sold-out No Doubt concert.

Todd and Tyler spent some time analyzing Big Pussy’s situation and everything that they feel he is doing wrong. After hammering him for a while, the guys phoned Pussy at home to see if he was listening (he wasn’t, he was a sweeepy widdle Pussy). TnT told him that they had been talking about him all morning and explained how they thought he was screwing up. After finding out that Pussy and his ex-girlfriend were indeed going to be sharing a hotel room Tyler said something to the effect of, “You’re going to get her all slopped up (drunk) and hump her, aren’t ya?” Pussy stated that he did not intend to turn this trip into a way for him and his ex-girlfriend to get back together but TnT seemed to think that was the only logical reason why Pussy would continue to go with the planned trip. It seemed to everyone that, “there’s just no reaching the guy”.

After letting Big Pussy return to his lonely, empty, heart-broken bed, TnT opened up the phone lines and asked for calls from any listener with a similar story to share. The first few callers were on target with the topic. They had tickets to something or plans made prior to a break-up and told TnT how they handled the situation once the break-up occurred. As the calls progressed, those who phoned in seemed to get a bit off topic. Several times throughout the show, TnT had to reset exactly what they were looking for and get the callers back on track. Throughout the remainder of the show, talk of Big Pussy’s situation and calls from listeners with similar stories to share dominated the program.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a very odd commentary about how he recently accidentally went into a gay bar and then into a really bad strip club. TnT thought at first that Larry was going to go off on another homophobic rant but Cable Guy didn’t take things in that direction and Todd and Tyler seemed quite glad. The guys spent some time discussing the final Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star game that is taking place on Monday night at Millard West. Donnie came in and mentioned a variety of celebrities that will be attending the game, including Omaha’s mayor and the councilman from Fremont who defended TnT back when the Superintendent first shot down Todd and Tyler’s charity dodge ball game invitation. Also, all of the branches of the US Military will be present at the event. Before the game, the school is having a dinner including some donated pizza and afterwards, the National Champion Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star team will take to the court to slaughter yet another unworthy dodge ball opponent made up of “glory days” jocks who now spend their time attempting to coach or glowing in the power in which they think they now have over high school kids. “GET READY!” On Monday’s show, Todd and Tyler give the details of the event once again and they would like to invite everyone to show up early for the final dodge ball game of 2002.

Greg Morton from the Funny Bone joined TnT in studio for the last half of their show. The guys talked about Greg’s act, the impressions he does and a little bit about being a Canadian. Greg also added his insight into Big Pussy’s Kansas City debacle. He seemed to have a great time on the show today, laughing out loud on quite a few occasions, and interjected comments quite well throughout his visit.
