| Administrator ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 04-23-2002 Tuesday 4-23-02 Todd and Tyler started off their program this morning by discussing a variety of topics. There was a little talk about the NFL draft and Eric Crouch, the guys talked a about the Food Network and Jill Cordes because of an interview they had scheduled with her after the first newscast, Brian came in and was pissed that someone took his parking sport this morning so he wouldnt be able to get out of the station parking lot once it fills up later in the day, Donnie mentioned that he has secured an interview with John Carroll from Survivor 4 for Thursday, and TnT got a call from a man who witnessed a drunk Corky at Shakers recently. During Brians newscast, TnT spoke to Jill Cordes of the Food Network. She used to work here in Omaha at Channel 7 before trying for a spot on The View and finally landing a gig on the Food Networks The Best Of program. Now she lives in New York City with her husband and travels 5 months out of the year to a variety of places all over the country filming the TV show. She talked with TnT about her job, the places shes been, the food she has eaten and mentioned that shes off to Florida to film Bill Murray and his brothers new restaurant next. At one point in the interview, TnT asked her if there was ever any food that she had to eat for on-camera purposes that she didnt like. Jill caused a bit of a giggle when she replied that she once had to spit out a muscle. Jill was incredibly cool, quite funny and she really seemed to enjoy talking with Todd and Tyler. Perhaps well hear from her again in the future. Although they covered a variety of topics in the first few segments of the show, they guys held off on developing any of them further until they brought Slave Boy Jeremy into the studio after the Jill Cordes interview. Jeremy gave his side of the story described late in yesterdays show by Jessica Dol about Jeremys first meeting with her parents over the weekend. Jeremy admitted to getting too drunk prior to meeting Jessicas parents but claimed his drunkenness was, an accident. After talking about the weekend and giving Jeremy a hard time for making a fool out of himself in front of his new girlfriends parents, Todd and Tyler opened up their phone lines. To set the tone for the call-in topic, Todd, Tyler and Donnie all shared some stories from their own lives. Todd and Donnie both said that their ex-in-laws never really cared much for them and their first meetings with them were less than stellar. Tyler told a story about how he went to pick up a date back when he was a teen and nearly embarrassed the crap out of himself when he noticed in the reflection of the door that he had several bloody toilet paper wads stuck to his recently shaven chin. They were later joined by James the Giant Peach who told a very funny tale about meeting his wifes parents for the first time. At one point, Peach offered Donnie two bucks not to finish one of his North Bend neck stories and to everyones surprise, Donnie turned it down. It seems he was more interested in being the temporary center of attention than earning $2 to shut up. Of course, after Donnie finished his story, he tried to weasel the money out of the Peach. Once the tone was set, TnT took quite a few Meet The Parents stories from their listeners. At one point, TnT asked for inter-racial Meet The Parents stories and got a few, as well as getting a very sexy call from a female listener with a lesbian story that went along with the topic. Throughout the remainder of the day, calls came in, each with their own twist, as Todd and Tylers Tales of Meeting The Parents day continued. Tony Tone from the Funny Bone joined TnT in studio this morning after just getting married last Saturday to a woman he met in Omaha a year ago. Today was his first time on the Todd and Tyler show and he fit in very well. He joined in on the topics of the day and scattered throughout his visit, he did quite a few of dead-on impressions of a variety of people. He seemed like a very funny guy and it sounded like he had fun hanging out with TnT today. You can catch him headlining at the Funny Bone tonight and appearing as the feature act with Adam Ferrara through the rest of the weekend. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. By the way, the Funny Bone just kicks 100 asses. If youve never been, make it a point to get out there soon. Were very lucky to have such an excellent comedy club in Omaha. Lets make sure we support it. 8^) Travis came in this morning and provided the TnT audience with a sports report. He also delivered his For What Its Worth editorial that originally aired last night on Channel 3s 10pm newscast. The topics he covered in this weeks edition included the rivalry between the Husker and Creighton baseball team, how Crouch should stick to football because his singing voice will never lead him to a career in the music industry, and how the Huskers new play-by-play guy for this coming football season doesnt matter because all of the games are going to be on TV. Travis would like listener feedback on the topics he covered, both good and bad feedback are welcome. You can reach him via his e-mail address at Channel 3, which is travis@km3.com, or you can call him on his voice mail and leave him a message. That number is 402-593-2706. Speaking of the Creighton Blue Jays, TnT spoke with baseball coach Jack Daum this morning. The Blue Jays split 4 games over the rainy weekend and although happy with the team, Daum mentioned he would like to have won the series by at least one game. From there, TnT and Jack discussed the regional and future games that will soon be taking place. Tomorrow the Blue Jays take on Kansas State at 3pm and later in the week, Creighton will face Southwest Missouri State. Well be hearing from Coach Daum as the season progresses so stay tuned to Todd and Tyler for more. Towards the end of the show, Brian came in and did the entertainment report. He concluded the report with yet another dead kid story. This time, a young child was pinned between a car and a tree, dying in front of his mothers eyes as she sat in the passenger seat of the very automobile that had her son pinned. Todd, Tyler, Donnie, Tony from the Bone, and several callers all piled on Brian for his depressing dead kid kickers as he gleefully laughed as though they were joking. Also during the final portion of the show, the gang spent some time discussing a swing clubs advertisement that aired during a commercial break for something called Club Styx, http://www.clubstyx.com. They got a call from a swinger who gave TnT some details on the swinger club she is in, although her club isnt affiliated with the advertisers that originally spawned the discussion. The guys tried to get the swinger to invite Midget Brian, who was in studio for a short visit (ha!), to her swing club and the caller sounded quite interested in having him attend. Brian, on the other hand, seemed a bit hesitant yet somewhat curious. If thing span out for the little guy, Im sure well get the details. The topic of swinging seemed to intrigue Todd and Tyler so perhaps theyll spend a little more time talking about this Club Styx thing and swinging in general later in the week. Well, thats it for the big Tuesday update. Tomorrow TnT are going to speak with the guy who does the voice of Homer Simpson so expect to hear both Bruce Patrick and Donnie juicing themselves all over the microphones during that interview. You can catch the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings program tonight on the mighty Z beginning at 10pm and make sure to rejoin TnT on Wednesday at 5:30am as they kick off another great show. Thanks for watching. Good night. Corby-
