| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT show 05-08-2002 Wednesday 5-8-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about the Stones tour announcement yesterday. They werent surprised that Omaha wasnt on the list of scheduled stops because we still dont have a functional arena but they did seem bummed that neither Kansas City nor Ames or Des Moines was on the list either. The closest they will be coming to us is Chicago (http://www.rollingstones.com/dates.php). Then the guys moved on to discuss how former Husker Calvin Jones was busted for steeling a video recorder and $200 from his friends. TnT mentioned that they are beginning to think that the Husker football department needs to have some sort of post-Husker training program to help graduating Husker players learn how to live normal lives in the real world. From there, Tyler talked about buying new socks and underwear yesterday, a pre-vacation tradition that was burned into him when he was a kid. He also said that a young lady at one of the mall photo places (where they wear the little beanies on their heads) recognized him and asked to see his braces for conformation that he was indeed Tyler from the radio. Also early in the program, Todd and Tyler announced that they now have a new intern for the summer. Theyve nicknamed him Curious George because hes got some poking ears and a shaved head, which makes him look like hes got monkey fur. His first assignment was to head to the Council Bluffs Quick Trip this morning to sell Fat Freddy meat bouquets for Mothers Day. All proceeds from the sales of the meat bouquets will go to the American Cancer Society, something the guys have been doing for as long as I can remember. Throughout the show, TnT checked in with Curious George to get reports on the sales progress. Later, he moved to the 108th and L Street QT location and finished up selling the meat bouquets there. TnT mentioned that they are going to bring their last box of Mothers Day meat bouquets out to the Funny Bone tonight when they appear for Z-92 night at the Bone. Stop on out and get your mother a fistful of Todd and Tylers meat. Brain came in this morning and did a very lengthy newscast full of a ton of great stuff. There was plenty of talk about the pipe bomb guy, as well as discussion of all of the other stories he read today. During his newscast, TnT got a call from Channel 42s meteorologist, Dean Wysocki. He talked about the weather with the guys for a while and then told TnT he wanted to nominate his ex-girlfriend for their MILF contest. TnT told him to have his ex-girlfriends son call in and do the nominations, that call came in very late in the show, to which Dean said he would. Later when Travis arrived, he outted Wysocki, saying that he has heard reports that Dean has been calling some of the other local morning radio shows lately (are there any? NOPE). Depending on the accuracy of Traviss reports and whether or not Dean Wysocki would like to exclusively call Todd and Tyler (the #1 morning show in town, I might add) this morning may have been the last time well hear Dean on the show. Todd and Tyler fired up their connection to Dr. Ed in Tyler, TX again this morning and spent a couple of hours with everyones favorite doc. After answering some medical questions from TnT and Brian, Dr. Ed took countless phone calls from listeners attempting to save a co-pay. As with any Dr. Ed day, there were a variety of strange topics discussed this morning. Eye popping puking, Brians bleeding ass, doing it doggy style to influence the sex of a baby, deceleration injuries, bloodshot shower eyes, and babies born with tiny, long cone heads were among the topics covered by Dr. Ed. There were a few technical glitches with Todd and Tylers connection to the doc this morning but all in all, the hardware worked well and sounded great on the air. TnT will be firing up their connection to Dr. Ed again in about two weeks so start storing up your medically related questions now. Peter Van Sant from CBSs 48 Hours phoned TnT this morning to discuss tonights episode. He gave some details of the story, which is about a big Virginia drug ring run by a bunch of teenagers selling Chronic pot. The kids were pulling in more than $300,000 a month and eventually something went bad and one of the kids ended up dead. As a side note, the dead kids father used to work for the government, protecting the President. Anyway, it sounded like tonights 48 Hours will be interesting so if you are so inclined, tune into CBS and catch the episode at 9pm. Towards the end of the interview, TnT played their audio clip of Robert Blake for Peter. He reacted by saying that the clip was, a remarkable piece of tape and went on to say it was, extraordinary. He then said that he would mention the clip to some of his coworkers who are working on the Robert Blake coverage so perhaps TnTs interview will end up getting some national attention in the near future. Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a commentary on how France doesnt want the United States to give the death penalty to anyone convicted in the terrorist attacks. Larry also announced what he has been teasing us with for the last week. There will indeed be a Blue Collar Tour movie, much like the Kings Of Comedy film that was out several years ago. After the paperwork gets finalized, Im sure he will be a bit more willing to talk about the situation. TnT spoke to Patton Oswalt this morning, who can currently be seen on CBSs King Of Queens. He will be appearing at the Funny Bone all weekend long with Paul Hooper and co-headliner Brian Posehn. Patton talked with Todd and Tyler about a variety of acting rolls hes had including an appearance on Seinfeld, he played the guy dropped from the plane that landed in the tree in the film Magnolia, and he also talked about the part in As Good As It Gets that was cut out of the movie. He was great and will be joining TnT in studio tomorrow along with Brian Posehn, who is currently playing the creepy mailroom guy (or janitor, I cant recall) on Just Shoot Me. Colleen from the Funny Bone brought in Paul Hooper, who will be appearing all weekend. They hung out with TnT, joined in on the topics of the day, and both seemed to enjoy their time on the show. Towards the end of the program, TnT tried to call Pauls mother on the air to wish her a happy Mothers Day for her son. They ended up getting an answering machine so they left a lengthy, somewhat dirty, very funny message. You could almost hear Paul twitching with anxiety as Todd and Tyler were leaving the message. It was great. Following that, TnT phoned Colleens mother and talked to her for a while. She seemed very sweet and said she would bake Sean Gnandt some cookies after Donnie successfully pretended to be Sean. Tonight is another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to make reservations and keep in mind that the entry price tonight is only $2 per person. Stop on out and see Todd and Tyler, as well as Paul Hooper, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn. Well, thats it for the update today. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of todays program and make sure to join TnT tomorrow at 5:30am as they bring their work week to a close. There will be a couple of Funny Bone comedians in studio and TnT will bring their MILF contest to a close and give away those two round trip Southwest Airline tickets to the winner. Keep in mind that due to the Vegas trip, tomorrow will be TnTs final day on the air until next Monday. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
