Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the Eagles tour and their upcoming stop in The guys spent quite a bit of time talking about their Vegas trip today. They had a great group of winners this year, most of which helped to nearly wipe out all of the available beer on the Southwest Airlines flight to Vegas. TnT shared a variety of stories about the weekend including a tale about how Jeremy sneezed on the back of a hot chick at the Hard Rock. Brian turned a 30-minute late Friday afternoon nap into a 15-hour Night of the Comet sleep fest that drained a full evening of enjoyment out of his trip. Travis pulled the Amazing Disappearing Wedding Ring trick upon his arrival in Vegas, and then acted as though he wanted to beat up a bunch of gay guys roaming Also while in Vegas, Todd and his girlfriend got married! They planned to do it in front of all of their friends but due to some confusion as to where one could and could not get a marriage license, he and Christy ended up getting married at the courthouse while everyone else went to eat. As Todd explained, the marriage was not only for love, but also because his now-wife needed some insurance. As you can imagine, Donnie gave Todd a hard time about the wedding because, according to facts Todd has been spewing at Donnie ever since he and Caller 9 got married, 80% of second weddings that occur within two years of a divorce also will end in divorce. Todd shot that theory down completely after he did a little justification math in regards to how long both he and Christy have been divorced. It sounded reasonable and then Donnie went away. TnT received a new Tony Bologna song this morning. The content of the tune revolved around the 1-day intern, Curious George, and his departure from the show. To everyones delight, it was surprisingly funny, relatively short, and the self-indulgent guitar solo was Channel 97.7-ed up for all of TnTs Spanish speaking listeners. After playing the tune, the guys talked about it for a bit, later repeating it for Travis as he laughed at the songs reference to former news babe Lisa Volenecs huge cans. Coach Jack Daum of the Creighton Blue Jays swung by the studio today. He talked a little baseball with the guys but for the most part, he just seemed to hang out and join in on the topics of the day with TnT. Keep in mind that the Blue Jays are playing the Huskers on Wednesday at the Johnny. So far, more than 10,000 tickets have been sold so if you dont already have yours, you might want to get your tickets now. I believe Ticket Masters, as well as a variety of other local stores have them for sale. You should also be able to get them at the ticket booth at the Johnny. Good luck Blue Jays! When Travis arrived the guys continued discussing the Vegas trip. They brought up Traviss Amazing Disappearing Wedding Ring trick. His explanation was that he went golfing and took the ring off because he didnt want it to tear his hand up. Afterwards, he just forgot to put it back on. He elaborated further by saying that he does this often, pointing out that he wasnt wearing his ring this morning either. From there, the guys mentioned how Donnies wife gave Travis a hard time for not talking to her during the Vegas trip. She called him pretentious and angrily berated him. The guys phoned Caller 9 this morning so Travis could talk to her in an attempt to redeem himself as a good guy in her eyes. Travis told 9 that he doesnt talk to her because he feels sorry for her, being married to Donnie and all. From there, TnT continued giving Trav a hard time when they brought up his reaction to the gay guys wondering Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with his Dirty Star Wars Part 2 commentary. It was pretty funny and both Todd and Tyler seemed to think it was as good as his first Dirty Star Wars attempt that they put on their CD a while ago. Stay tuned as the week progresses for more commentaries from the Cable Guy. Todd and Tyler spoke with Geddy Lee, front man for the band Rush. Theyve got a new album out called Vapor Trails and you may have heard their new single being played on Z-92 over the past few weeks. The guys discussed a variety of things related to the bands history, changes theyve made to their sound over the years, how the lyrics are written by their drummer (one of the best drummers in the industry), their past and present tours, and much more. During the interview, the guys were finally able to get conformation that the lyrics to the song Trees was most likely written in a room with various forms of smoke wafting about. It was a great interview and Geddy was super cool with TnT. It would be well worth it to tune into tonights 3rd Shift Replay to catch the interview if youre a big Rush fan. Towards the end of the show, TnT brought in Stef and Makayla, two students from Westside high school who can be seen on the cable access show, Westside Crew. Todd and Tyler were a bit apprehensive to have the girls in studio because of all the crap theyve given Westside in the past for things their students have done, but after finding out that the incoming students werent on the attack and, more importantly, they were 18-years-old and hot, TnT brought them in for the interview. The guys then talked to the girls about the Westside Crew, discussed the various people on the show, talked about the things they liked the most, and more. TnT asked about whether or not the girls have plans for after graduation; both said they are going to college. The episode featuring the Todd and Tyler segment should air next Monday at Thats it for todays update. Tomorrow Todd and Tyler are going to hold a burnout contest at 60th & |
