Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a call their boss Tom received yesterday. The guys went into Tom’s office for an unrelated meeting and overheard him speaking with a listener who was complaining about the new Spanish speaking FM station Journal recently established. Tom explained that the station was not targeted to the angry listener but it didn’t seem to sink into the complainer’s brain. TnT said that they were quite angry at the covert racism as they listened to the caller’s complaints. To them, it was obvious that the guy was racist and was trying to make it seem like he wasn’t by claiming that he enjoyed the music on the new Spanish speaking station, he just didn’t care for the on-air personalities because they weren’t speaking English. TnT said that their boss handled the situation much better than they would have, admitting that there is no way they could be management during situations such as that. The guys spent some time talking with Black Tony, who swung by the studio, about racism and how they see more and more racists covertly being racists, thinking they’re pulling one over on people. Later in the program, TnT continued the conversation in depth.

Also early in the show, the guys mentioned that the prices they have been giving for the upcoming Eagles concert tickets were a bit off. The ticket prices are actually somewhere around $85 each but the prices they have been giving out, around $350 each, came from a fax sent to them by their buddy Chad at Ticket Express. His tickets guarantee you the best possible seat but of course, you’ll pay a bit more for them because he’s a ticket broker. The guys said they didn’t intentionally mislead anyone, they just didn’t read the very bottom of the fax.

Brian came in to do the news this morning and to Todd and Tyler’s delight, it was a very good newscast. Of course Brian typed it rather slow so the guys had to take several commercial breaks before actually beginning the news. Once things got rolling, TnT enjoyed discussing more priests in trouble (one hung himself and another bitched out a lady trying to save children by turning in a priest for downloading child porn), a former Husker turned himself in for stealing from his buddies, and there was another story about a pit-bull chewing people up.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on how freaky the people in Star Wars ticket lines are. Due to a bad phone connection, TnT weren’t able to interact with Larry much during his call today because each time they tried to say anything, they were assaulted with a terrible echo. Perhaps when Larry checks in next week, he won’t be on his Sports Illustrated phone so TnT will actually be able to converse with him.

Todd and Tyler continued their discussion of covert racists at various times throughout their show today. TnT found it hard to understand the logic of such people. They pointed out that it’s inevitable that English speaking white people will be a minority in this country in the future. They also pointed out that there are still pockets of people scattered all over the country who don’t speak English and no one is freaking out over them. In fact, there is a group of folks in Saunders County who speak only Czech but because they’re not ‘’dirty foreigners’’, no one’s harassing them to learn English. The guys then read an e-mail from someone who wanted Journal to create a station for people who speak German, Swedish, African and more. TnT got a kick out of that because there really isn’t an ‘’African’’ language. In reality, there are about 1000 different languages on the continent of Africa.

From there, they went back to their story about overhearing the angry listener who phoned their boss yesterday and wanted an English speaking person on the Spanish station. They received a phone call from a lady named Mary who claimed to know the man TnT had been speaking about all morning. She attempted to spin the situation, stating that the caller was not racist and actually does enjoy the music because he’s a polka fan, but her spins didn’t seem to get her anywhere. The guys then explained that even though it is called broadcasting, radio stations have a target audience. The target audience of the new Hispanic station isn’t white, 30-something computer geeks.

The guys brought in Jose from Journal’s Spanish speaking station to give his point of view on their main topic of the day. They discussed the multi-lingual shift in this country and then moved on to talk about listener’s reactions to the new FM Hispanic station. From all accounts, things are going well and the audience is really enjoying it. It was great to hear from Jose again and I’m sure he’ll join TnT in studio again in the near future. Oley!

J Medicine Hat joined TnT in studio this morning and hung out with the guys for the remainder of their show. He talked a bit about some recent things he encountered on stage and also told a story about visiting a porno shop on Mother’s Day. While there, he saw some sort of coffee can butt plug in a glass case surrounded by cameras because of how expensive the item was. He also purchased a transparent blow-up doll used by freaks that want to see their throck going to town while actually inside the latex lady. He also joined TnT in their discussion of racism, giving the Native American point of view. You can catch Medicine Hat at the Bone all weekend with an X-rated show on Monday. Later in the show, TnT recapped a story from the very end of yesterday’s program about a woman who accidentally shot off her husband’s sack in a freaky fetish-gone-wrong sex story. They coupled that tale with an article from Stuff magazine about sexual fetishes. As they read through the list of strange things people do in bed, they discussed the freak level of each. Such freaky sexual fetishes included people who wear masks during sex, people who hump feet and stuffed animals, diaper wearers, saddle riders, peeing, bottle insertion, fantasy rape, and those who enjoy humping people in comas. The guys got some e-mails on their topic as well as a few phone calls but for the most part, it didn’t seem like their listeners were all that willing to phone in their strange sexual fetishes. It was either that or the callers just knew they couldn’t beat the freakiness level of things TnT had already discussed. I wonder, is only being able to climax during sex when Travis Justice is on the television screen a fetish? I’m just asking for a friend…

Well, this afternoon is the big Todd and Tyler golf tournament. If you’re not there, like me, I guess we’re just missing out. From the sounds of it, the lovable Ed Utah, Tyler’s dad was in studio towards the end of the show today but unfortunately we didn’t hear from him. Bummer, I love that guy. Anyway, TnT will be returning on Monday morning at 5:30am and I’m sure they’ll give us the details of this afternoon’s event so make sure to tune in.
