| Administrator ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 06-04-2002 Tuesday 6-4-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a story they saw on the news last night that rather amused them. According to reports, the government is now asking fishermen on the Missouri river to keep their eyes out for terrorists. Tyler humorously implied how safe he now feels knowing that drunken fishermen will be watching our waterways. From there, the guys moved on to discuss how they are anxiously anticipating Husker football coverage to start up again in the local media. Baseball has taken over and theyre sick of it. Admittedly, they never thought theyd be begging for Husker football coverage in the beginning of June but it has finally happened. Mark your calendars. TnT brought up a topic from yesterdays show again this morning. As you may recall, they briefly touched on baby showers and other female gatherings, wondering exactly what sort of secret rituals take place that the participating women never tell their men about. At some point yesterday they spoke to Lynn Taylor, who phoned in this morning and told TnT about the 4 baby showers she has had to plan over the last 2 months. She discussed the whole baby shower scene, some of the things that go on during one, and the social implications of such activities. It was rather amusing to hear her complain about the expense of putting on so many baby showers in such a short time because, as she put it, it cuts into her Creed concert fund. Brian came in with the news and TnT talked in detail about many of the stories. One story spawned a discussion about people who turn themselves in after committing a crime, hoping to get a lesser sentence. No one seemed to think that turning yourself in would actually reduce the punishment for your crime but everyone seemed to be amused by the thought that there are criminals out there who actually believe such a thing occurs. After Brian concluded the newscast, TnT ran with the discussion and opened up their phone lines. They asked for calls from people who had turned in themselves or their friends for things they have done in the past and a surprising number of calls poured in. Some listeners shared stories of being turned in by friends and family while others admitted to turning themselves in. One call that stands out in particular came from a lady who said she turned her brother in for murder after he threw a woman who owed him money off of the Mormon Bridge. Travis came in this morning to do sports. Before he began, TnT spent a little time talking about the goatee trend on Channel 3s newscast. They had mentioned this early in the show but reintroduced their discussion when Travis arrived. As many of you know, Attaboy started the facial hair swing on local news not too long ago and now it seems that theres yet another newscaster sprouting chin hair, Chris Eggert. They wondered how long it would be before Debra Ward starts growing a stash, too, and then affectionately began referring to Channel 3 as Goatee TV. My catheter then broke due to the laughter. Travis then read his sports report and wrapped it up by reading his For What Its Worth editorial that aired on last nights 10pm newscast. The topics covered included how MECA shouldnt bow down to the Huskers and let them play in the new arena, there was a little butt kissing to the Husker athletic director in commemoration of his 10th year with the program, and Travis gave some advice to the Royals organization in an attempt to help them boost attendance to the games. If you would like to comment on Traviss For What Its Worth, he looks forward to hearing from you via voice mail at 402-593-2706 or by e-mail at travis@km3.com. Todd and Tyler were going to speak with the coach of the Richmond Spiders baseball team this morning but for one reason or another, the interview did not take place. From the sounds of it, though, the interview may take place during tomorrows show. And with the approach of the College World Series, TnT will probably be speaking to a variety of the coaches who will be coming to town to play at the Johnny; all except for the Husker Coach, who they are sure is an alleged jerk after saying he saw no reason to talk to them last year when the Huskers made it into the CWS. Stay tuned for further Husker baseball and CWS discussion in following weeks. Towards the end of the show, Brian came in and read his entertainment report. I must say that todays e-news segments were just plain goofy. I dont know if the guys were all jacked up on coffee that late in the show or not, and frankly it doesnt matter, but the goofy e-news segment was flat out hilarious. To explain, the guys spent some time trying to figure out how to say various months names in Spanish. They also had a lengthy discussion about how to treat Father Hereks nuts. Tyler wanted to set them on the electric chair and zapem. I believe the phrase Dead nuts walking emerged from there. Todd thought it would be fun to batter those bears up and chomp on them at next years Testicle Festival. Honestly, I cant do their conversation justice when it comes to portraying exactly how funny (and goofy) the e-news was so I suggest you flip on tonights 3rd Shift Replay and listen for yourself. Before bringing their show to a close this morning, Todd and Tyler spent a bit more time discussing their upcoming Celebrity Boxing matches. Earlier in the show, they spoke about having Dean Wysocki and Pat McGonigle as a possible additional boxing match for their card so they explored that further later on. Donnie and Brian ran a little more smack at each other about their upcoming match, too. From an outsiders point of view, it seems that the closer we get to the actual event, more and more hatred is flowing between the news chick and the producer. I can see those two face-to-face in the studio pushing and shoving each other in a press conference-like setting before the week ends. Well, thats it for the Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings show and make sure to rejoin Todd and Tyler tomorrow morning at 5:30amf or the Wednesday edition. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
