Thursday 6-6-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about the rapper R. Kelly who was busted on 21 counts of child pornography for video taping himself having sex with a 17-year-old girl. The guys have heard that copies of the videotape have been circulating the hip-hop scene in large cities and wondered if it had made it’s way to Omaha yet. They admitted that they wouldn’t mind seeing the tape, as they don’t consider having sex with a consenting 17-year-old child porn, but worried that if someone was to send them the tape, they could get in trouble for viewing it.

From there, they moved on to talk about last night’s Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. Everyone agreed that it was a great show and urged their listeners to make reservations for this weekend. As far as the Z-92 staff, only TnT, Donnie, and the Peach bothered to show up for last night’s event and it was clear that TnT were a bit disappointed in the other Z staff members. They pondered changing the name of Z-92 night at the Funny Bone to Todd and Tyler night at the Funny Bone.

Joe from Blue House came by this morning and hung out for a while. He spent some time talking with TnT about an early morning topic they were discussing, should you marry the ‘’rebound girl’’, as well as joining in on their other discussions. Joe also mentioned that Blue House will be performing at the Taste Of Omaha tomorrow night from 5pm to 7pm as well as on Sunday from 3 to 6pm as part of the Blues Cruise, leaving from Freedom Park. Joe dropped off a sign that he created for Slave Boy Jeremy, which read ‘’Free Shaft and Balls.” As you may recall, Todd won a bet between himself and Jeremy regarding a celebrity boxing match last week. As anticipated, Todd and Tyler sent Jeremy, Slave Boy Chris, and Machine Head to Lake Cunningham today. Because he lost the bet, Jeremy had to wear the sign and see if any homosexuals approached him. Several times throughout the morning, Chris and Machine Head checked in to detail what they saw. With the exception of one male listener who showed up to get the free golf balls and ‘’Shaft’’ video, the only other activity reported on this morning was that a lesbian showed up to hit on Machine Head. Afterwards, she kept driving by, continuing to drool over her. Later, TnT sent Jeremy up into the woods to see if he could find the Cunningham version of the 4-man Mandan man can jam. He returned, sadly unsuccessful. TnT mentioned that the scent of Machine Head’s vagina had most likely scared off all the gay guys. That was so damn funny that I spit iced tea out my nose.

Because there didn’t seem to be very much going on at Lake Cunningham (no homos were grabbing Jeremy’s throck through his sandwich board sign), Slave Boy Chris went into the bathroom and gave Todd and Tyler a few of the phone numbers that were scratched on the wall. They then attempted to call a couple of them but were unable to get a hold of anyone. In a genius moment of comedy, though, Todd dialed a number that he said was given to him by Chris from the wall, claiming that above the number it read, ‘’New to town, like it hard’.” In reality, Todd had called James the Giant Peach’s office. The timing was perfect! As Todd dialed and described the text above the number, Peach answered and everyone got a good laugh thinking that Peach had actually left his number on the wall in the gay sex bathroom at Cunningham.

TnT had a conversation with Chad from Ticket Express, ticketexpress.com College World Series Nebraska Football Omaha Concert. To begin with, they talked about the Sammy Hagar / David Lee Roth concert that was postponed in KC. The guys wondered if Chad had heard any behind-the-scenes reasons for the postponement but he had not. From there, they discussed College World Series tickets as well as the availability of Eagles tickets.

The guys spent a little time reading over some personal ads from the latest issue of ‘’Go’’ magazine from the World Herald. They wondered what type of people actually place such ads and spent some time dissecting the lingo used within the ads. They planned to open the phone lines so listeners could check in with their stories of personal ads but that didn’t seem to work out, as there was quite a bit going on during today’s show. Instead, the guys then played a clip off of their ‘’Hair Lip’’ CD where they set up an account as a gay, blonde, Philippino fat guy who likes to party hard.

Dara Troutman, the assistant GM for NETV spoke to TnT today regarding her stations decision not to air the Husker baseball Super Regional game tomorrow due to a prior contractual agreement to show a western Nebraska high school all star football game. She explained that it would cost between 20 and 30 thousand dollars for them to air the game, those costs coming from hiring an additional crew and satellite truck. She then talked with TnT about Channel 6’s report last night that seemed to hammer NETV for not covering the Husker game. Before ending the very interesting conversation, Dara got in a couple of plugs for NETV and asked for donations. The number is (402) 472-3611.

Todd and Tyler spoke to Ron Atkins, the coach of the Richmond Spiders. The team is in Lincoln now to take on the Huskers Saturday afternoon. Ron talked about their trip to town, which had them stuck in the Chicago airport yesterday for 9 hours, before discussing the progress of his team this year and the proverbial road to the CWS. He touched on their chances of getting to Omaha by beating the Huskers and sounded quite confident that his team could do it. Todd and Tyler wished him luck and said that they would like to get him back on the show if/when his Spiders do beat the Huskers in the Super Regional.

Andy Richey from the Funny Bone came in and spent some time hanging out with TnT. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to have a good time. Todd and Tyler talked him up quite a bit while he was there, saying that even though his act is strange, they like strange and found him very funny. To close the show, Brian came in with his entertainment report. During that report, the guys spent a little time discussing a web site about having sex with dolphins. The same subject first came up during yesterday’s e-news but with the web site loaded up, free porn, they had many more details on the subject to share with us today. Hearing Todd read the details of on that web site was quite funny and I believe it was Tyler who said, ‘’If you’re whacking off a dolphin, put a bullet in your head.’’

Before leaving the air, TnT mentioned that they were going to stay in the studio and take some uncensored phone calls from their audience. The guys are going out of town in a few weeks and due to their airline schedules, they’ll have to leave the show a bit early. So the calls that they planned to take after their show today would be recorded and saved and then aired during that time slot when they have to leave early. It’ll be interesting to see exactly what the uncensored Todd and Tyler and their listeners talked about.
