| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 06-07-2002 Friday 6-7-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by mentioning the death of Dee Dee Ramone. They had planned to play a Ramones tune in honor of him to start their show but they couldnt find one. Instead, they played that Sha na na na, Good Bye song. Oddly, later in the show when a reference to Don Johnson was made, the guys were able to find a copy of his song, Heartbreak and played a clip of that. I laughed thinking that theyve got no Ramones but Don Johnsons at their fingertips. Also early in the program, the guys spent some time discussing the R. Kelly situation. Yesterday they thought that he had been busted videotaping himself having sex with a 17-year-old girl. This morning, they said that they heard reports that the girl in the video was closer to 14-years-old, those reports coming from Black Tony who joined them in studio today. Tony said he was allegedly e-mailed a small sample clip of the video, which he deleted immediately, but from what he could tell, R. Kelly was definitely in the clip. As they discussed the situation, TnT laughed at R. Kellys explanation and said that if he uses the, It wasnt me. We all look like defense, it could set race relations back 100 years. They then mentioned a web site that was e-mailed to them called ageofconcent.com and perused its offerings for a while, checking the legal age of consent for various states and countries around the world. Brian came in with the news today and as he read over the stories, the guys talked about each of them. During a story about an upcoming eclipse, Brian said that we probably wouldnt be able to see it here. Tyler then said something that made me roar from the belly with laughter. Why not? We have the Sun here. The simple, straightforward question, legitimate as it sounded, was just flat out hilarious. Brian offered up a half-assed explanation that he probably made up on the spot and then continued with the newscast. Larry the Cable Guy checked in with a commentary on how the state of Texas is no longer allowing the phrase, Remember the Alamo to be said in schools because it is offensive to the large Mexican population. Larry, and TnT for that matter, didnt understand why it would be offensive. After all, the Mexicans kicked the Americans asses at the Alamo. Tune in next week for more from the Cable Guy. TnT continued talking about their celebrity boxing match, which has now been scheduled to take place at McCormack's on July 27th. Due to some legal issues, they are not supposed to refer to the event as a boxing match. Theyre now required to call it a fight; a rule they seemed to think was pretty silly. The guys read down the list of bouts and gave their opinions on who they thought would win each match. Everyone still seems to believe that the Brian Vs. Donnie fight will be the closest but mentioned that many of the other battles should be just as interesting to see. While were in the boxing vein here, Todd and Tyler are going to be out at the 108th & Maple Street Ice House on Saturday from 9pm to 11pm hosting a Lewis Vs. Tyson watching party. You can reserve a table by phoning 934-BEER, in which case you will get in for $10, or you can show up on the day of the event and pay $12 for entrance. It should be a great party so stop out and see the guys this weekend. Travis came in and did his sports report for the guys. Before beginning, TnT asked him when his wife was supposed to come back from her visit to Ireland and Travis replied, I dont know. TnT thought that was rather funny and were further amused to find out that Travis hasnt spoken to his wife since she left town more than a week ago. During Traviss actual sports report, the guys touched on their conversation from yesterday with Dara, the assistant GM of NETV. Even though they were quite polite to her yesterday when she called to explain why NETV wouldnt be showing the Husker baseball Super Regional games, they said this morning that they still didnt agree with the whole thing and think somebody somewhere should have put up the money for the broadcast. Patrick Spring from the Funny Bone came in today and spent a couple of hours hanging out with TnT. He joined in on the topics of the day and spent some time talking about his wife. From the sounds of it, shes a bit of a whack job. She keeps inbred retarded wolf dogs around the house along with her two kids, his step-kids. What a great combination. That discussion spawned some talk about pit bulls and TnT once again stated their opinions on the unnecessary breed. Todd and Tyler spoke to their homeless friend Alex this morning. He confirmed reports that TnT have been getting about the house they had built for him. It was condemned by the city and taken away while he was in the hospital. After he healed up from his heart attack, Alex moved into one of those assistance boarding houses of some sort and collects about $500/month in disability. He seems to be doing better now than ever before. Tyler humorously gave credit to Alexs heart attack for helping him get his life straightened up. After Alexs call, Brian went off on yet another enabling rant, bitching about the fact that Alex is now collecting disability money. He and TnT went back and forth for a while arguing about it before they all moved on. Towards the end of the show, Brian came in with an entertainment report. He read through it while everyone in the room discussed the stories. He concluded the report by reading the latest Sex Offender Registry list from the paper. Before ending the show today, Todd mentioned that hes going to Alaska in a while to visit his friend. That friend runs a web site located at http://www.outdoorsalaska.com and asked if Todd would mention it on the air, as he was concerned about the lack of hits the site has been getting. So Todd did and just before they got off the air, they rechecked the page hit counter on his friends site and saw that it had shot up by a couple of hundred. Take a second, faithful viewers, and click the link to the web site so we can further assist Todd in showing his Alaskan buddy the power of the Todd and Tyler show. Lets see if we can send that counter over 5k. Well, thats it for the update today. Make sure to get on out to the Ice House tomorrow and join Todd and Tyler for their Lewis Vs. Tyson watching party. It should be a great time. Keep in mind that you can also make reservations to see Patrick Spring at the Funny Bone all weekend by calling the Bone Phone at 493-8036. Its going to be 2 for the price of one tonight. Tune in on Sunday at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings show and come back to Z-92 at 5:30am on Monday as TnT start up another week of radio excellence. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
