| Administrator ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 06-21-2002 Friday 6-21-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by reading a hate e-mail that didnt make much sense. The e-mailer seemed to believe that Todd and Tyler are somehow jealous of the Huskers, Dave Van Horn, and Lisa Volonec. The guys tried to figure out what the e-mailer was trying to say but there didnt seem to be much of a chance of that so they moved on. Speaking of Van Horn, the guys took some calls related to him and how he has chosen to leave the Husker program to return home to Arkansas. From there, they reread a hate e-mail that came in late in yesterdays show which lead the guys to believe that people are under the impression that they are exactly like they are off the air as they are when they are performing their show. They stressed again many of the points they made yesterday regarding this, stating that theyre normal guys just like you and I and that their lives are not full of hookers, booze and blow (anymore). They mop floors, do laundry, and are pretty pussy-whipped by their lovely ladies. Brian came in with the news this morning, shortly followed by Traviss arrival. When Trav came in, the guys were pleased to see that he wasnt as grumpy as yesterday. Then TnT spent some time discussing whether or not the Van Horn story should be considered a news story or a sports story. According to what they saw on TV last night, the local TV media believes it is news. In fact, Todd mentioned that one of the stations, 7 I believe, broke from a murder story to give the Van Horn news, delaying a later report in that broadcast about a tornado warning in the area. The guys wondered where the news stations priorities are and concluded that all TV people feel like they have to suck Husker ass in order to make the masses happy. Dave Rimington joined Todd and Tyler in studio this morning. Hes in town to take part in the Boomer Esiason CF golf tournament this weekend. Theres going to be a party on Sunday night at the Double Tree, followed by the golf tournament at Quarry oaks on Monday. Details can be obtained by phoning 330-6164. During Daves visit, TnT got a call from Boomer Esiason. He began by yelling at Rimington because Boomer couldnt find his desktop computer. Dave told him it was in an office in New York City and Boomer didnt seem to dig that much. The gang then went on to talk about Boomers new gig with a show that I believe is called NFL Today, although Im a little clueless because Im not a sports guy and whatever the show is called was only briefly mentioned. Dave and Boomer also shared a story about a recent trip to Costa Rica in which Rimington had to fly in a shaky equipment airplane because of his massive size while Boomer took a safer, more people friendly flight. Humorously, yet sadly, Rimington told TnT that the very plane he flew on ended up crashing in the mountains killing the pilot a few weeks later. Boomer and Dave continued their discussion with Todd and Tyler by giving more details of the CF golf tournament this weekend. There is going to be a variety of sports celebrities and former Huskers playing in the tourney, all to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis foundation, The Boomer Esiason Foundation - Fighting Cystic Fibrosis. (Dont bother trying a non-IE browser on that site, I couldnt get it to load in Netscape.) Before ending his call, Boomer told TnT about how he, Rimington and everyone else in their office were lucky enough not to be in their 101st floor office in the World Trade Center the day it was attacked by terrorists. It was a very interesting tale and from the sounds of it, luck was definitely on their side that day. Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a commentary on how Southwest Airlines is now making fat people pay for two seats. The gang discussed the topic with Dave Rimington, who although not fat, is a monster of a man. Danny Bevins from the Funny Bone stopped by to hang with TnT today. He joined in on the topics of the morning and discussed how he will be going down to the CWS this afternoon. He really didnt have much time with the guys because they had to leave the air at 9am to make a flight. Im sure hes a stellar comic; Colleen doesnt book stiffs, so give the Bone Phone a call at 493-8036 for your reservations. By the way, if you bring in your CWS ticket stub from this afternoons game, youll get into the Bone for only $1. Can you believe that!? Go to the Bone. Go to the Bone. Go to the Bone. Go to the Bone. Todd and Tyler spoke to comedian David Brenner this morning. Hes coming to Omaha for a special engagement next week at the fabulous Funny Bone. He talked with TnT about working in Vegas for the past few years, currently with Kevin Pollak, and discussed the 9-month tour hes been on since the 9-11 attacks. He also discussed his 30-year history in comedy and the type of show he does, current events related. David was very cool so make sure to get out to the Funny Bone next weekend for his shows. As mentioned above, Todd and Tyler had to leave the air at 9am this morning to catch a flight for their week-long vacation. Over the past few weeks theyve been recording some uncensored, off-air phone calls from their listeners specifically with the purpose to air them during the last hour of this mornings show. They did just that and oh my god was it funny. Because it was uncensored, the callers who checked in could say anything they wanted, as could TnT and Donnie. Afterwards Donnie edited out all of the swear words (there were hundreds!) and thats what was aired today. There was really no set topic so its difficult to sum it all up here, but I can say that there were stories of a man who fished his friends softball sized turd out of a toilet and has kept it in a coffee can at work for more than a year, another caller told about having anal sex with a woman having some leaky butt problems, many callers checked in to bitch about Donnie (some loved him, though), and on a few occasions, the How do you get a nun pregnant joke slipped in. How do you get a nun pregnant? Ya ***k her. In my opinion, the uncensored stuff was great and hopefully the guys will do this again when they plan to leave the show a bit early down the road. Well, Todd and Tyler are out of town next week so well be enjoying the Best Of until they return on July 1st. Thats it from me for a week. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
