Wednesday 7-3-02

Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by talking about a variety of topics. Todd’s new house has a Husker mural on the wall (for now, until Todd knocks the whole wall down) and TnT spent some time trying to figure out which Husker Vs. Missouri game the mural depicted. They also talked about the drunk America West pilots, this year’s Z-Bash, and we heard another outstanding ‘’Me and my buddy Kevin’’ story from Donnie about how Kevin drove under Donnie in one of those farm implement sprayers with the really big wheels. Later, James the Giant Peach joined TnT in studio and confirmed that he did indeed have sex with his pregnant wife last night, scissor style. He did not, however, induce labor.

Brian came in with the news, which TnT discussed at length. During the newscast the gang spent some time talking about fireworks. Even though they are illegal in Douglas County, TnT said they’ve seen and heard them being popped off for nearly a week now, many times late at night. The guys bitched about the firework fanaticism for a bit, discussed how necks save up all their pocket change all year long to purchase the explosives, and warned their listeners that if any of them happen to blow off any body parts this year, TnT are going to make fun of them on Monday. Perhaps their threat of public humiliation might actually stop a neck or two from juggling M-80’s or flossing with a Roman candle.

After Brian concluded his newscast, Todd and Tyler fired up their Mexican Connection and spent a few hours with Dr. Ed live from his basement in Tyler, TX. The gang began by playing a little bit of catch-up, discussing the flooding in Texas, and talking about Rice’s poor performance in the CWS. The guys then opened up the phone lines and took questions about Donnie’s skin tagged penis, swelling bug bites, getting screwed by rhinos, paralyzing neck turns, people with fat hearts, high carb diets, fat guy stretch marks, and cat scratch fever. It was awesome hearing from Dr. Ed again and everyone seemed to have a great time this morning. Stay tuned for another Dr. Ed Wednesday in just a couple of weeks.

Travis came in with his sports report this morning. Along with his sports report, Travis talked a bit about some of the reaction his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary spawned. During that discussion, TnT phoned the Wrong Number Guy, a listener who has a phone number just one number off from Travis’s KM3 voice mail line. The guy has been receiving some ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ reaction calls on his home phone number when people misdial Trav’s voice mail. He talked a little about some of the calls he’s received lately. Travis seemed to get a kick out of the fact that someone has been taking hate calls on his home phone on his behalf. I’m sure the guys will talk with the Wrong Number Guy again in the future so stay tuned.

Brian came in with an entertainment report later in the show. During the E-news, the guys discussed Flock of Seagulls songs, played a clip from their interview with one of the Doors to commemorate the death of Jim Morrison, and they got a little confused by a story Brian did about a man named Vladd who ate a bunch of people in 1986. They originally thought the man was Vladd the Impaler but once Brian restated the date of his crimes, they had a chuckle realizing that Vladd the Impaler wasn’t around in 1986.

Also during Brian’s entertainment report, he read another installment of the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Right in the middle of it, the new Z-92 intern, Machine Head walked by the studio in a pair of short shorts and a summer halter top looking shirt. Tyler unconsciously blurted out, ‘’Whooo Machine Head!’’ The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, right in the middle of the sex offender list, and the fact that Tyler unconsciously hooted at the young female intern made it all the more funny. That’s bound to end up on a promo so if you missed it, either check out tonight’s 3^rd Shift Replay or listen for the promo all day. It was hilarious!

Before concluding their program, Todd and Tyler announced that they are now the official spokesmen for Tim O’Neill Chevrolet’s Auto and Motor Sports World located in Council Bluffs, Tim ONeill Motorworld. They’re both driving brand new Chevy Avalanches and Donnie’s cruising around in a 2000 Monte Carlo SS. I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about this in the future so stay tuned for details on specials.

Todd and Tyler are headed out to the Eddy’s Conoco on 60^th and F Street this afternoon between 11pm and 1pm. By the time this update gets posted, they’ll most likely be gone. But you can catch them on Thursday taking part in the Ralston 4^th of July parade as well as at the Anchor Inn on Friday night. The Pheromones will be playing live and TnT will be helping raffle off the first Harley from the Midwest Motorcycle Raffle we’ve been hearing about all summer. It should be a stellar time so make sure to stop on out and see the guys.

Well, that’s it for the update today. The guys will be back on Friday morning but there will most likely not be an update. I’ve got family in town and have asked to sleep in on Friday morning, still awaiting a response from Donnie.
