| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 07-25-2002 Thursday 7-25-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by announcing a new weekend promotion on Z-92 called Cheap Tix for Cheap Trick. The station is going to play the entire Live at Budokan album on, I believe, Saturday morning and to coincide with that, the station has decided to lower the ticket price for the Z-Bash to $19.50. The new price will only be in effect on Saturday and Sunday of this week, and afterwards theyll go back to $24. The guys then read over an e-mail from someone who called Donnie the glue that holds the show together. TnT were thoroughly amused, while Donnie was quite uncomfortable. Throughout the remainder of the show, TnT referenced Donnie as the glue. At one point, in one of the funniest contributions from the e-mail lately, someone asked TnT, what happens when someone puts glue in a well oiled machine? Also early in the show, the guys spent some time talking about a few items in the news. There is an asteroid hurtling towards our planet and is expected to cross our orbit in about 18 years so TnT spent some time pondering the 200,000 to 1 possibility of us getting smashed all to hell in the not too distant future. They also discussed a couple of movies that were based on a similar premise, determining that Deep Impact was a better depiction of the scenario than Armageddon. Todd and Tyler also announced early in todays show that they are going to hold a boxing match in their studio during tomorrow mornings show. Donnie and Brian are going to duke it out, the guys will be charging $1 admission to sales people and others within the building, and they may be selling beer as well. All of these are direct violations of the rules the Nebraska Boxing Commissioner pointed out to the station earlier in the week. The purpose of the fight seems to be to stick it to the Nebraska Boxing Commissioner for causing the shutdown of the Thrillard in Millard that was supposed to take place on Saturday. Basically by doing this tomorrow, Todd and Tyler are daring the Nebraska Boxing Commissioner to come in and try to shut them down. It should be rather interesting to what happens so make sure to tune in early and stick around all morning long. Brian came in with the news report this morning, which was discussed at length by Todd and Tyler. TnT then mentioned that Chris Eggert from KM3 would be sitting in for Brian during the e-news because he was leaving to have the huge cist removed from his back. From the way TnT have been talking about Brians cist in recent days, it sounded more like BW would be giving birth to a Drac. Samis get four, five, uncow BW? Hopefully hell survive the ordeal unlike his fish lipped counterpart. Enemy Mine kicks so much ass! Mayor Mike Fahey joined Todd and Tyler this morning. He was welcomed by a disgruntled Brian saying, Let me be the first to thank you for the new tax hikes. It was hilarious. From there, the guys moved into a discussion about some things going on in Omaha including taxes, user fees, how broke the city is, where the money has to come from to fix our problem, how the city counsel and the mayors office are getting along, the progress of the Arena, why Ralston hasnt been taken over, garbage pickup surcharges, the cities plans for a September 11th tribute, and more. Donnie also proposed his caffeine tax idea to the mayor. He didnt seem to like it, though, pointing out that according to Donnies calculations, each person would be taxed $45 instead of $15 as it is with the mayors setup. Before leaving, the mayor took a few phone calls from TnT listeners. The callers were of rather poor quality; Donnie screened nearly all of them out before even making it to the air. Brett Erickson from the Funny Bone came by the studio this morning and hung out for a while. Hes in town with the sound effect guy from the Police Academy movies, Michael Winslow. The gang joked around about Winslow for a bit, using Tylers sound effect machine in the roll of Michael Winslow. It was hilarious stuff. At one point, Todd and Tyler had Brett translate some of the strange noises being produced into actual words, as they attempted to carry on a conversation with the sound effects of Michael Winslow. By the way, you can make reservations to see the sound effect guy and Brett Erickson by phoning 493-8036. Travis came in with a sports report later in the program. With him he brought Chris Eggert to cover Draco BWs e-news. Before Travis began, TnT spent some time talking with Eggert about his upcoming move to Orlando. Later, Chris provided TnT with a clear and to the point entertainment report, several times questioning the notes Brian had left for him. After the e-news was complete, some phone calls started coming in related to a few of the stories Eggert had read, mainly road hummers and biting while fighting. Calls came in on both subjects, the road hummer stories being a bit more interesting, and that wrapped up the last half hour or so of the show. Thats all for todays update. Please note that there will not be an update written tomorrow. Just make sure to join TnT early for the in-studio boxing match and see if the Nebraska Boxing Commissioner attempts to shut them down. If he doesnt, itll still be great radio to hear Brians emaciated skin flapping in the breeze as he is slapped around by Donnie The Producer of Death Dodge. Also, Michael Winslow from the Funny Bone will join the guys and that must equal fun, fun, fun! Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
