| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 08-16-2002 Friday 8-16-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the 25th anniversary of the death of Elvis. They then gave us all an update on the situation with Tylers stolen car from yesterdays show. Tyler said that an officer rang his doorbell at 3:30am this morning and told him that they had found the car and arrested the thief. He said that the car was involved in a pursuit last night, the police used Stop Sticks to blow out the tires and the car eventually crashed into a pole, not totaling the car but doing some damage to the front end. Allegedly, crank may have been found in the car as well. Then TnT took a call from their lawyer friend Candy and she filled them in on what sort punishment the bad guys might get. From the sounds of it, if they dont have a prior record, they could get off with probation. Following that, TnT got a phone call from a listener who had his police scanner running last night and actually heard the pursuit taking place. He gave a lengthy description of what he heard, confusing everyone in the process. TnT then played a clip from yesterdays show that was about two minutes long. The anxiety filled clip was of when the guys were taking Ive just spotted the car here phone calls and was hilarious. Later in the show, Donnie took a call off the air from a guy who claimed to be the cellmate of the kid who stole Tylers car yesterday. According to reports, the thief didnt know it was Tylers car and all of the other guys who were locked up began hammering him on behalf of the TnT show. Thats justice for ya! Brian came in with the news, which included an On this day in history segment featuring the fact that this morning was the 9th anniversary of the Todd and Tyler show here in Omaha. TnT spent some time sharing memories of their past, including a handful of bad occurrences that happened in the first couple of years in town. Most of the bad memories seemed to center around one program director that used to yell at them daily. They talked about the changes in management and their show over the years, how the playing of songs finally got removed from their show, how they almost quit before getting their old PD fired, how they got together for the first time back in PA, and their current blissful happiness with the station. Former news guy for TnT, Craig Evans joined the guys in studio this morning to continue the anniversary celebration. The gang talked about the party filled old days, which led to more stories about the program director they all hated, and then moved on to discuss how Craig got fired and how he used to lie about what time it was during his newscasts to avoid getting chewed out by the bosses. Many callers checked in to congratulate Todd and Tyler on their 9th year at Z-92. Some shared memories about their early shows, while others focused on former employees. Speaking of former employees, Emjay and the Beastmaster both phoned in with congratulatory remarks, as did the sexiest woman ever to grace the TnT studio, Intern Jenny. TnTs boss Wex even stopped by the studio to talk about their long relationship with the mighty Z and about how well he seems to get along with the guys in comparison to the former bosses TnT had discussed earlier. In one of the funniest moments ever on the Todd and Tyler show, difficult to say because these two guys are hilarious every day, the perfect example of what can only be described as a Todd-ism occurred. Todd said, One thing Ill never forget about our old Program Director is. He then paused briefly and said, I forgot where I was going with that. I hope that ends up on a promo sometime, or perhaps in Tylers hot button computer because it was absolutely hilarious and I hope to hear it again. Travis came in with the sports report for the morning. During his report, Travis mentioned the Huskers and walk-ons during one of his stories. One of the guys mentioned that none of the whores in Lincoln will sleep with the walk-ons. That spawned a call from a guy named Ben Hanson from Cedar Bluffs, who is going to walk on with the Huskers this season. He said he was looking forward to the Lincoln whores and was quite disappointed to hear TnT say that they probably wouldnt nail him. It was very funny. Following that, TnT talked with Ben briefly about the upcoming Husker walk-ons. Lewis Black from the Funny Bone joined TnT for the last hour of their program. He was amazing this morning. His rants covered such topics as his time in the Drama department of Yale University (from where he earned a Masters degree), things on television, in the political world, and the movie Titanic. Id rather watch someone taking a dump and have it come right at me than to see that movie ever again. He gave Brian crap throughout the e-news segments and also shared a very disturbing but rather amusing story about how he once had a kitty cat that gave his cocker spaniel a hummer. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 immediately and make your reservations to see one of the nations best comic minds at work. You wont be disappointed. Lewis Black is the best! Well, thats the Friday update. Keep in mind that Todd and Tyler will not be doing a show on Monday because theyre going to be drinking all day Sunday at the Z-Bash 2002. You should be able to catch the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings program airing on Sunday night and make sure to rejoin TnT on Tuesday morning at 5:30am for the Z-Bash review. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
