| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 08-20-2002 Tuesday 8-20-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by reading a hate e-mail from one of their listeners. The e-mailer claimed to be a long-time fan of the show but was pissed that TnT took yesterday off to recuperate from Sundays Z-Bash festivities. Furthermore, the e-mailer went on to say that TnTs listeners are responsible for putting them where they are now and should not take advantage of those same listeners. TnT were legitimately upset for several reasons. First of all, the guys mentioned that they were taking yesterday off months ago. TnT felt that by not doing a show on Monday they were kind of saving the audience from listening to a definite hangover edition. Secondly, arent they entitled to take a vacation day? Technically, because they did broadcast live from the Z-Bash Sunday and spent the entire day participating in a work-related event, they werent slacking off on their duties to their listeners in any way. After venting about the idiotic hate e-mail, the guys moved on to discuss this years Z-Bash. The weather, which was totally missed by every TV guy in town, was rather crappy (chilly and wet). Because every local weather guy missed the prediction, TnT have decided to boycott weather reports on their show. From now on, the guys will read the sponsor but wont rely on the local TV guys to provide accurate, or even remotely accurate weather forecasts any longer. They held true to their word all morning long and hopefully, to prove a point to the TV weathermen who get paid good money just to be wrong all the time, the boycott on weather reports will continue from this point on. On top of the bad weather, Quiet Riot decided not to show up again this year. It turns out that the entire band was waiting at the airport here in Omaha for the lead singer, Kevin DuBrow. For whatever reason, he decided not to come, stranding his band and leaving the Z-Bash behind-the-scenes people scrambling to fill Quiet Riots allotted time (successfully done by longer sets from most of the participating bands). Consequently, TnT have vowed never to do any event involving Quiet Riot or Kevin DuBrow in the future. On a related note, several times this morning TnT phoned Kevin DuBrows cell phone voice mail and left goofy messages about being punctual. Aside from the crappy weather and the slack off lead singer from Quiet Riot, the rest of the Z-Bash seemed to be a total success. From all accounts, every performance by the various artists was awesome. Throughout the show TnT took countless phone calls from listeners who attended the outdoor event and shared their tales of the day. The guys were sent a variety of photos from the Z-Bash featuring topless women. For legal reasons, those photos will have to be blocked out before they can be published. The guy taking care of that for the station phoned in and said that the Z-Bash photos, regular and topless, probably wouldnt get posted until tomorrow on the main Z92 site. In the mean time, Ive been sent the topless photos and once edited, Ill post them in the Todd and Tyler section. If theyre not up by the time you read this update, check back within an hour, as Ill be working on the editing and publication as soon as todays update is complete. Speaking of photos, topless shots were not the only ones sent to TnT. There were reports of a totally naked woman dancing at the Z-Bash and the guys were sent pictures of her this morning. TnT dubbed her the Queen of the Z-Bash and speculated that, due to the sexual positions the naked woman was contorted into, she was probably a stripper. Well, they nailed it. She dances at the Bottoms Up. The woman featured in those photos, Nadia phoned in to talk about her public nudity performance at this years concert and how she was almost busted by the police before she was able to slip away into the crowd and put her sun dress back on. At one point, the guys asked her if she had been up all night or had just woken up. She responded with a raspy voiced, Im always awake. Brian came in with a newscast and during that time, TnT took more phone calls from listeners with Z-Bash reaction. Todd, Tyler, Brian, and Donnie also told their own Z-Bash stories, scattering them in between Brians news reports. The Grim Reaper, TnTs lawyer friend Michael, stopped by the studio to drop off a birthday gift for Tyler. Neither the gift nor Tylers actual age was revealed over the air so we can only speculate that Michael gave Tyler a set of Power Ranger water wings in celebration of his 24th birthday. Traviss appearance at the Z-Bash also made for much discussion this morning. Every account, whether from TnT or the listeners who phoned in, said that Travis was absolutely hammered out of his mind this year. Several callers reported Trav handing out hugs to both men and women, an obvious sign of how blitzed he was because if homophobe Trav was drunk enough to hug another man, he was definitely intoxicated. There was also a report of Travis being yanked out of a Port-A-Potty by an old guy at one point this year. When Travis joined TnT this morning, he told the story. From his perspective, he was innocently talking to a hottie who was in line to use the toilets. During the course of their conversation, the lady noticed Travis doing the pee dance and offered him a cut. He accepted and went into the Port-A-Potty, effectively pissing off a 60-something guy in the back of the line. The old guy ran up and yanked Travis out of the Port-A-Potty before he could do his business, bitching at him for cutting. Humorously, though, Trav pointed out that the old man then went into the Port-A-Potty himself, cutting in front of all the people he passed on his way to attack Trav. After more calls and discussion of this years Z-Bash, Travis provided us all with a sports report. During the report, he read his For What Its Worth commentary that he aired on last nights KM3 10pm newscast. The topics he covered included how the Husker offence looks really bad this year, Lawrence Phillips is a loser, and how Trav is freaking out over the thought of the West Nile Virus. You can e-mail Travis with your comments at travis@km3.com or leave him a voice mail by phoning 593-2706. Along the sports line, TnT spoke to UNO football coach Pat Burns this morning. The Division 2 season is about to begin and TnT spoke with Pat about this seasons schedule, names to watch on the Mavs roster, the turnaround in UNOs program Pat is credited for, and recognition his program is now getting and how it relates to recruiting. Im sure TnT will be speaking with coach Pat Burns again this season so stay tuned. After Trav wrapped up his sports report, TnT reread the hate e-mail they had focused on earlier in the show, which centered on TnTs decision to take yesterday off. They continued to defend their decision, thoughts that were amplified by the countless listeners who phoned in and said that they understood why TnT didnt work on Monday and didnt blame them one bit. To further prove their point, the guys went down a list of all the times theyve actually missed the show. With the exception of regularly scheduled vacations, the list was incredibly small considering the guys have been on the air here for 9 years now. Jim Short from the Funny Bone stopped by the studio today and hung out with TnT for the last hour of their show. Even though he has finished up his stay at the Funny Bone, hes hanging out in town for the Bob Dylan concert tomorrow night. He spent some time talking to TnT about how he arranges his schedule around Bob Dylan performances and then joined in on all of the other topics of the day. Jim is sure to visit Omaha again in the future so stay tuned for details on his return. Brian came back into the studio later in the program with the entertainment news. During that time, TnT had a lengthy discussion about the bionic man and woman, determining that at least one of them must have had a bionic anus. The guys also gave a call to a listener named Cindy who phoned the front desk to complain about hearing racist remarks on the show today. One of the stories in the e-news innocently included the word, colored. Well, the gang began to joke about the phrase colored, mocking how racists use the word to describe anyone whos not white and how that term, along with a handful of others, are obsolete and politically incorrect now. It was clear that Cindy misunderstood what she was hearing and after explaining the situation to her, she seemed to get it. TnT then went on to tell her that she sounded like a white girl, humorously delivering that statement at the worst possible time during their conversation; after they had made up. It was very funny. Later in the show, Cindy called back and told TnT that she had heard that they dont think the Sistas dig them. She put the kibosh on that, stating that shes a Sista and she only digs white guys. Before wrapping up the show, TnT brought in Well, thats the big Z-Bash wrap-up update. Ill get to work on editing and publishing the topless photos and should have them up on the TnT section of Z-92s web site soon. Tune into the 3rd Shift Replay tonight at 10pm and rejoin TnT tomorrow morning at 5:30am for the Wednesday show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
