| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 09-11-2002 Wednesday 9-11-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing how they planned to deal with the anniversary of September 11th. They mentioned that they werent going to dwell on it too much but said that they would be giving away flags for everyones car in the Z parking lot all morning as well as take some calls and talking about how we as Americans can give the old two finger salute to our enemies by indulging in everything American. Ill elaborate further in a moment. After their initial setup of their plans for the show, TnT discussed some of the 9-11 coverage thats already all over the TV, Tyler saying that he opted to watch Deer Hunter on DVD instead of local TV last night. From there, the guys read over a couple of e-mails and then checked in with the folks in the parking lot, Big Pussy and Bruce Patrick. They told us that theyd be out in the parking lot attaching ribbons and small flags to car antennas until they ran out of supplies. Throughout the show, TnT checked in with the progress of the day. At one point, it sounded like Slave Boy Jeremy and J. Dol were knocking it out in the Z van but when TnT asked Jeremy about it later, he denied it. When TnT checked in towards the end of the show, they got to speak with Channel 7s Trisha Meuret, who had stopped by to film the stations activities. It sounds like shell be coming in on Friday to cover the e-news for Brian while he gets his nut lumps looked at by a doctor. BW came in with the news this morning. During that portion of the show, TnT discussed some things that we can all do today to be American and to spite all of the people across the world that hate us just for being Americans. They suggested we stick it up the enemies ass by drinking American beer and Kentucky whisky, eating read meat and burgers, watching porn and having sex with your wife and her uncovered face and more. They took some calls from their listeners with other ideas of how to indulge in being an American, which led to a discussion about where people were when they heard about the terrorist attacks. Because its their show, TnT asked to hear from people who heard about it from them. That seemed to be a setup for something the guys had planned later in the show, which Ill get to in a moment. TnT spoke to Rob McCartney of Channel 7 this morning. The guys discussed what plans the station had for their coverage of the day. Rob told TnT that theyre doing an hour and a half long tribute beginning at 4pm that will be uninterrupted by commercials. That led to a discussion about advertisers and reasons they have or have not decided to air commercials today. Before ending the call, TnT talked about how Channel 7 and Z-92 worked together last year after the terrorist attacks to raise 1.2 million dollars and mentioned again that they were giving out flags for car antennas in the Z parking lot to thank all of their listeners/viewers for their support last year. At the exact moment that the plane hit the first building last year, Todd and Tyler played a couple of clips from last years 9-11 show. The clips were of the guys witnessing the plane hitting the building and their initial comments about what they saw. Some of the things said included Tyler mentioning that with the technology today, the fire they were seeing at the time would be put out. Todd speculated that it could have been a terrorist attack by a kamikaze towel head. Travis referred to what he saw that day as a towering inferno with people dying left and right. The Peach, when asked if he knew anyone in the who worked in the Trade Center said, Not anymore. After hearing the clips, TnT came back on the air and further discussed their comments. They both seemed quite disappointed, upset in fact, at some of the things that they heard had just heard from last years show. Explaining that the audio clips they played were from just moments after the news broke, they pointed out that they werent making fun of the situation, they just didnt know exactly what was going on or how to handle it. Upon further examination, Tyler felt bad because many of his statements about how the fires would be put out and the buildings would be okay turned out to be totally wrong. Todd nailed the kamikaze towel head theory immediately, as we heard this morning, but at the time agreed with Tyler that things would probably be okay. They continued their discussion for a bit by discussing things that the Peach and Travis had said. Knowing what we all know now, Travis said he felt like a total dick this morning for his statements, and it seemed like Peach felt the same way too. It was at this point in the show that TnT got into yet another heated debate about how local TV news stations should be covering the 9-11 anniversary. It was basically the same argument as yesterday, TnT saying the local angle is worthless and Travis saying its not. After going round and round, the guys took a moment to reflect on their conversation and got a kick out of themselves for turning today, a day of remembrance and togetherness, into an all out fight between themselves. Sean Gnandt from the Funny Bone, opening up for J Medicine Hat this weekend, stopped by the show this morning for the first time in months and hung out with TnT. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to be absolutely on fire as he used some of the remarks Peach and Travis made from the audio clips of last years 9-11 show as ammunition for his comic cannon. I cant do him justice by attempting to repeat some of todays quotes because in comedy, timing is everything and Im writing this several hours after the show ended, putting my timing completely out the window. Tune into tonights 10pm 3rd Shift Replay if youd like to catch Sean ripping Travis and Peach a new bung. Travis returned later in the show and delivered his sports report. He did not, however, give his For What Its Worth commentary from last nights KM3 newscast because he chose to only do one story and it was all about September 11th. Before leaving, he told TnT that due to the TV coverage of the anniversary tonight, he wouldnt be on at 5pm but would give nearly a full minute of sports during the 10pm newscast. He also reminded Todd and Tyler that he is leaving for PA to cover the Penn State game tomorrow so he wont be in. We will be hearing from Travis on the road later in the week for his Lock and Saint of the Week selections so stay tuned for that. Brian brought in an entertainment report this morning but before going into it, he had to defend himself for some comments he made earlier in the show. Earlier, TnT had asked if any of the other Z employees who were helping with the outside flag giveaway had any food, as they tend to do when they help out with station events. They sent Brian out to find some and when Brian asked the Peach if there was any grub, the Peach pointed him to the Salvation Army bus that was in the parking lot. Brian asked the people in the bus if there was any food and was told that they werent aware they had to bring any. The person Brian spoke to then went into the freezer and pulled out some powdered doughnuts for him to take to the studio. Brian then said that he didnt want the doughnuts because those are for people whose houses are burning down or people at the scene of car accidents, not a hungry morning show. Evidentially, some of the people working outside didnt like Brians comments and thought he was somehow slamming the Salvation Army. Todd and Tyler stuck up for Brian and said that they agreed with him totally on the doughnut thing. They understood what he was saying but it was obvious those mad at Brian had not. TnT scolded those attaching flags to cars outside the station for not listening to the show close enough and misunderstanding Brians genuine statement for not wanting the doughnuts. It didnt really matter though. A bunch of people ended up bringing TnT McDonalds and Burger King to chow on so they didnt need the doughnuts anyway. Sean Gnandt, on the other hand, needed them and proceeded to chew on the semi-frozen powder covered balls of dough throughout the remainder of the show. When the E-news began, TnT spent some time giving BW a hard time for his unusual So
transition. Donnie and Sean piled on as well and continued to poke fun at Brian the rest of the morning. Todd even got in on the action saying that when Brian does his So
, it sounds like Todds grandmother during one of their pause-filled conversations. From there, Brian moved on with the e-news and mentioned that today is Brian de Palmas birthday. After pondering what movies he was a part of, the gang finally landed on Scar Face and then the floodgates opened for discussion of other de Palma movies. Consequently, that led Sean and Donnie into a wonderful session of dueling Travoltas. That was followed up by some discussion of peter freaks. I cant remember what that one was about but my notes say peter freaks so it had to be pretty funny. To wrap up the show, TnT were joined by Emjay, their old news chick. She brought the guys a couple of small bottles of whiskey to help them indulge in being Americans, as they had earlier stated. She also brought in some pop sickles. After some coaxing, Todd and Tyler were able to convince Emjay to basically give one of the pop sickles a Diekman. She was able to engulf it ¾ the way, which sent BW into a sexual spasm that had him aiming for Genos mouth. Well before I go, Id like to apologize for the structure of todays update. I know I was kind of all over the board in regards to a timeline today but it couldnt be avoided. I hope you enjoyed todays update nonetheless. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
