TnT Show 09-25-2002

Wednesday 9-25-02

The Big Rod Breakfast Todd and Tyler show started off this morning by talking about how the Huskers no longer have a hotel to stay in the night before a home game because of cuts in the University. They found it odd that the news picked up on the poor Huskers and didn’t bother to focus on the fact that an entire department, the College of Continuing Study has also been eliminated. They then moved into a discussion about Christopher Reeve’s appearance on Larry King, where he showed the nation that he could move his finger. There was also some early morning talk about Frank Solich, among other things, before TnT replayed a clip from yesterday’s show in which the gang discussed anally raping a paralyzed ex-Husker.

BW came in with the news early in the show. The gang discussed a TV tower that fell in Nebraska as well as touching on a variety of other news stories before Brian and Donnie got into an argument about the poverty line. Once again, BW stated that even broke people can survive while Donnie, a former broke guy, stated that there is no way anyone can raise a family on 12 thousand dollars a year.

After the news and the verbal battle between Donnie and Brian had concluded, Todd and Tyler fired up their connection to Dr. Ed in Tyler, TX. They spent a couple of hours letting their listeners as questions of the doctor, scattering in their own questions, too. The topics today included discussion of the West Nile virus, involuntary boners, sleepwalking, night terrors, Todd’s inflammable sack hair, and a plethora of ass-related questions, including one about a guy who has two bungs. Dr. Ed will most likely rejoin the guys in a few weeks so if you didn’t get the opportunity to ask Dr. Ed a question today, keep it in mind for his next visit with Todd and Tyler.

Travis came in with the sports report a little later in the show. He brought up the argument that Donnie and Brian had earlier regarding the poverty line and said that it is possible to live on a small income as long as you are willing to drastically change your lifestyle. Todd pointed out that no one ever wants to downgrade their lifestyle once they’ve become accustom to living a certain way and for the most part, it sounded like everyone agreed with that thought. The argument seemed to die from there, leading into Trav’s actual sports segment.

Travis also read his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary from last night’s KM3 newscast and discussed how the Huskers should stop living in the past, who he’d give the Heisman to if he had to vote right now (Iowa State’s Wallace, and how the St. Louis Rams have sucked since Crouch quit the NFL. If you’d like to leave him some feedback, you can phone his voice mail at 593-2706 or send him an e-mail at travis@km3news.com.

Mark Gross and Sean Gnandt from the Funny Bone came by a little later in the program. They hung out and joined in on the topics of the day but not before the guys dog piled Gross. After the piling, they decided to rename the act ‘’guys on top of guys’’ piling. Then Mark mentioned some work he’s doing on a pilot but he couldn’t give many details. You can catch both of these guys at the fabulous Funny Bone all weekend by calling 493-8036. It should be a stellar weekend of Funny Bone comedy so don’t miss out. Mark Gross kicks ass; Sean’s pretty good too!

Todd and Tyler announced the winner of their American Asshole contest. Donnie, from the sounds of it, ran away with the victory. Due to time restrictions on this morning’s show, the judges didn’t spend much time analyzing why Donnie won the asshole contest. Perhaps when the guys return, they’ll point out some specifics for us.

To conclude their show, TnT spoke to Michael Ian Black from NBC’s ‘’Ed’’, which premiers tonight. They discussed how Black was asked to quit his gig as the host of ‘’Spy TV’’ by the bosses of ‘’Ed’’ and then moved into some talk about tonight’s premier and what can be expected from this season. Black didn’t give up any secrets about this season, which seemed to bum Tyler out. Also during the interview, TnT asked Michael about how one of his co-workers on the show was arrested for allegedly smoking crack with a homeless guy, a charge that turned out to be false.

TnT are headed to Pennsylvania for Tyler’s wedding this weekend so they won’t be back on the air until Tuesday morning. They will, however, be back in town in time for Monday Night Football at Brewsky’s next week so make sure to swing on out and welcome them back into town.

That’s it for the update today. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to check out the ‘’Best Of’’ airing until TnT return on Tuesday. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
