TnT Show 10-01-2002

Tuesday 10-1-02

Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by mentioning that John Mellencamp will be coming to the new Council Bluffs arena on November 22nd. Tickets are $45 and from the sounds of it, everyone seemed quite pleased to hear of his upcoming visit. The guys thanked Council Bluffs for getting their 8000 seat arena put together so swiftly, jabbing Omaha’s slow progress of our very own arena in the process. From there, they went on to talk about last night’s Monday Night Football party at Brewsky’s. BW was spotted with a tall hottie, which TnT asked him about later.

Tyler got married over the weekend in Pennsylvania so the guys spent a little time talking about that. With few exceptions, no one at Tyler’s wedding gave a damn about the Huskers, although the guys did say that when they heard about the loss later in the day, they got a kick out of the news. Tyler also mentioned that his dad (his best man), who has a tendency to drop bad news on Tyler in a blunt way, told him he had some bad news just as Becky was walking down a big hill from a mansion dressed in her wedding gown. Tyler kind of freaked out, as did his buddy who was standing next to him, and told Ed that he didn’t want to hear any bad news right then because he was seconds away from being married. Ed then went on and told Tyler that the reception people had run out of Tyler’s favorite beer, Coors Light. Relieved that the bad news wasn’t incredibly bad, the wedding went on. Later, the Coors Light situation was fixed and everyone not with child got thoroughly hammered.

Todd also talked a bit about the trip to PA, which routed him through Washington DC. Todd discussed flying into DC and how he spent his time in the capitol city. He had lunch on Lee Terry, saw Strom Thurman’s doctor, and visited the Vietnam Memorial. Closer related to the wedding, even though he said he wanted to go fishing in the stream next to where Tyler got married, Todd was able to hold off.

BW came in with the news a little later in the show. Due to the fact that the guys were out of town for so long, they had a lot of catching up to do. As Brian read through each story, TnT took some time to discuss them. For the most part, the Norfolk bank robbery murders seemed to be the only major news story the guys missed so they focused on that for a bit. Brian also told the guys of yet another ghost story related to his new house. Evidentially, his dishwasher is haunted now.

Congressional candidate Jim Simon stopped by the studio for a bit again this morning. He spent some time talking with TnT about the progress of his current campaign to unseat Lee Terry, discussed how the TV ads have yet to turn ugly, and he was responsible for spawning a lengthy argument over the entertainment value of Sponge Bob Square Pants. He also sent Donnie to the dictionary several times during his visit with the guys as everyone’s favorite redneck producer tried to learn some new big words.

Travis joined the guys a little later in the show. Before he began his sports report, TnT talked to him about something that happened during his segment of the news on Saturday night after the Huskers got their asses handed to them by Iowa State. From e-mailed reports and a confirming phone call earlier in the show, TnT were informed that a drunken fan bared ass and dangly sack behind Travis during a live shot just after the game. Travis seemed pissed about the whole ordeal. TnT, on the other hand, thought that Channel 3’s news department should have at least acknowledged the ass instead of pretending it never happened.

Later, Travis delivered his sports report for the morning. There was plenty of talk about the Huskers and Iowa State, as well as speculation about how this week’s Lincoln news conference held by the team might go. Travis also reported that the Golden Rods won last night. Before concluding, TnT had to give Attaboy a little bit of a hard time for yet another Lock of the Week prediction gone wrong. From there, Travis wrapped up his sports report by reminding everyone that he will be doing his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary tonight during the KM3 10pm newscast. He’ll most likely talk about the Huskers. Tune in for that tonight or just listen to the Todd and Tyler show tomorrow for the recap.

Todd and Tyler are going to be out at the Z-92 sponsored haunted house just off of 178th & Giles Street on Friday night from 8 to 10pm. Slave Boy Jeremy and Donnie came into the studio to tell TnT about their experiences there, as they have both already attended the haunted house. The two detailed the various attractions and things to do and told TnT that they’ll definitely have a good time at the event. Please join the guys out there on Friday night!

Towards the end of the show, BW returned with the entertainment report. During this time, the guys discussed a variety of strange topics. The shininess of Todd’s dog’s poop, some ‘’CSI’’ chatter, and John Holmes’ gay porn film techniques were among the weirder points of conversation. Also during the e-news, Brian told TnT that he went to see the new Reese Witherspoon film, ‘’Sweet Home Alabama’’ over the weekend. TnT then proceeded to hammer on BW for having a vagina. That hammering continued for the remainder of the show.

Speaking of vaginas, BW concluded the e-news with a disturbing story out of Fremont about a woman who was raped by her drunk Native American hooker sister with a frozen sausage while she slept. J Medicine Hat’s terribly annoying Indian chant music then filled the roll as background music for the remainder of the show while TnT analyzed the hideous yet hilarious details of the story. From the sounds of it, the guys will be replaying a couple of clips from late in today’s show during the early segments of tomorrow’s show so if you’re not an all day listener (shame on you!), you’ll be able to catch that.

Well that’s all for the Tuesday update. It’s sure nice to have the guys back in town! Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Wednesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
