TnT Show 10-07-2002

Monday 10-7-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their Scary Acres visit last Friday night. They had a good turnout and seemed to enjoy the haunted house. From there, they discussed what they did over the weekend. It seems that both of the guys did little besides watch football. While they were on the topic of football, TnT mentioned that Saturday’s Husker victory meant nothing in the polls and everyone commented on how horrible the Husker Homer radio broadcast was/is/will always be. The gang also touched on the most recent episode of ‘’The Sopranos’’, Tyler talked about his fun filled trip to Linens & Things, and TnT gave us today’s Jocktaber artist of the day.

Brian came in with the news. His lead story was from Saturday’s World Herald, which felt it newsworthy to tell us all that Eric Crouch sold some dirt. TnT commented on the story, pondered aloud why the paper felt this was news, and then tried to figure out how a fresh-out-of-college student was able to purchase more than $100,000 worth of land, considering college athletes can’t have jobs and don’t get paid. Following that, there was a lengthy discussion involving the old Coal Vs. Oil heat argument before BW wrapped up the news with a heartwarming story about poop covered kids and squishy pee carpet.

Todd and Tyler announced the details of this year’s Freaker’s Ball today. It is going to take place on Friday, October 25th at Ameristar. First prize in the costume contest will win $1000. Second will get $300. Third place will receive $200. The best group/couple will win $500. On The Fritz, Down To Here, and Noise Next Door will all be playing. Tickets are $10 and you can get them from Ameristar or by visiting Star Tickets Plus. The doors will open at 6:30pm and the bands start at 7:30pm with the costume contest to follow. Stay tuned for further details on the event and make sure you get your tickets quick. The Freaker’s Ball has a tendency to sell out!

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with an angry commentary on the peace protesters in California. He also mentioned that he’s coming to Lincoln as part of the Blue Collar Tour some time in November but unfortunately, the night he’s in town, TnT will be hosting a Broom Ball game so they won’t be able to make it. Stay tuned for more from Larry.

Todd and Tyler got into a discussion about the different ways men and women discuss their sex lives. BW, recently single and whom they’ve been trying to live vicariously through spawned this line of conversation. Brian won’t spill the beans on the hot, tall, blonde school teacher he’s allegedly dating and TnT seem bummed out by the lack of sexy details the news chick is offering up. Todd and Tyler said that when they were young, they always bragged to their buddies about conquests but since they’ve become older, they don’t do it any longer. They said that they felt women are exactly the opposite. When women are younger, they seem less willing to talk about their sex lives but when they get older, they open up like a pink blossoming rose (so to speak). They opened up the phone lines and took calls from many women, most of whom agreed with what TnT said. Not many, however, were willing to give up the details of their sex lives. The only exception was a 22-year-old hottie who works at the Council Bluffs mall who told TnT she smacked gnarlies with one of her underlings over the weekend.

Travis came in with a sports report a little later in the show. There was plenty of Husker talk during his report and the guys continued trying to figure out where Crouch got the money for his land. The gang also had a lengthy discussion of exactly what you will need in order to watch this Saturday’s Husker game. From the sounds of it, you’ll need a slim little box in your bedroom, much like Tyler’s. Travis did miss a story on the Husker first baseman that was arrested for fighting in public over the weekend. That story came in from the phone lines after Travis left so Todd, Tyler, Brian, and Donnie discussed it amongst themselves.

Brian returned later with an entertainment report. He did a story on a baby who ate some ecstasy, followed it up with a little SNL and Letterman talk and then did an obscure Dr. Pepper dead guy of the day. That pretty much wrapped up the e-news and the show.

Tonight the guys will be out at Brewsky’s for another edition of Monday Night Football. Join them for fun and excitement as the Golden Rods take on Iowa State and the Packers meet the Bears. Rumors of the return of Todd and Tyler’s Finger Flicking Field Goal contest have also been circulating so don’t miss the fun.

That’s it for the update today. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and rejoin the guys tomorrow morning at 5:30am for the Tuesday show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
