TnT Show 10-15-2002

Tuesday 10-15-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their Monday Night Football party at Brewsky’s last night. They had another great turnout for the event, including some visits from several calendar girl contestants. The guys mentioned that they’re having a really hard time trying to narrow the field down to 12. They expressed some fear in the repercussions of not choosing certain women and think that it will eventually lead them into getting approached in a bar sometime down the road with the, ‘’Why didn’t you pick me?’’ question. They pondered ways of avoiding such confrontations and came to the conclusion that they’ll just blame whichever of the show’s member that isn’t there at the time. They then opened up the phone lines and took some sympathy calls from listeners, most of which were offering up ‘’Poor Todd and Tyler get to see naked women’’ sarcasm. There didn’t seem to be much actual sympathy coming in for the guys regarding the truly tough decision they’re about to make.

BW came in with the news a little later in the show. During a report on a license plate bust at a local apartment building, they got into a lengthy tax discussion. The guys both feel that those avoiding paying for plates in the state and/or avoiding paying the wheel tax by using perpetual ‘’In Transit’’ signs should be forced to pay what they owe. After all, they both pay their taxes and have to help make up for the slackers out there who don’t. They took a few phone calls from listeners who wanted to tell the guys about how long they got away with not plating their cars and the winner, as far as I can remember, was a guy who drove on home-made In Transits for 6 months. Also during the news, TnT spent some time discussing Lysteria and Tyler’s itchy bunghole.

Matt and Chris from the law firm of Cohen,Vacanti, Higgins, and Shattuck stopped by this morning and spent a few hours with TnT. Before getting into the listener’s phone calls, Matt talked with the guys about a recent trip to California. While there, he was sleeping at a buddy’s house and his face was bitten by a wolf spider. TnT speculated that it was more likely a wolf puss that bit Matt’s face but he declined their suggestion. The two lawyers also talked about a recent intimidation tactic used by an apposing lawyer. The lawyer told the guys that if they perused the case they were working on, ‘’I’ll smoke your dick.’’ Of course, the lawyer meant that he’d beat’em but his poor choice of words didn’t make it sound that way. TnT had a good laugh and throughout the remainder of the show, there were plenty of dick smoking references.

The phone lines lit up when the guys began taking calls for the lawyers. Most of this morning’s questions seemed to involve the dreaded child support topic. There were a variety of other topics covered today, though none of them as prevalent as the previously mentioned. The lawyers will be back in a few weeks so if you didn’t get the chance to get your question in today, you’ll get another chance in the near future. In the mean time, though, you can contact their firm by calling 345-7600 or visit them on the web at FATHERSRIGHTSLAW.COM.

The guys were blown off by a couple of scheduled guests this morning. Ben Nelson was obviously too busy trying to come up with $125 million dollars and the actress from NBC’s ‘’Hidden Hills’’ must have taken the hidden portion of her show’s title way too seriously. Perhaps they’ll reschedule.

Donnie came in at one point this morning and mentioned that he has started taking inquiries about this winter’s dodge ball season. He gave some rules for this year and they are as follows. The guys will not be playing schools they’ve already played. There must be a cause or benefit involved in which the money raised during the event will go to. The guys will only play teachers and faculty of the schools, no clubs, groups of drunks, or students. Each team must match the number of Traveling Dodge Ball All Stars. In other words, if the guys bring 14, the school has to have 14 players. They can’t swap out a group of 14 for a fresh, new group of 14. The games this season will be limited to Tuesday or Wednesday nights (with possible exceptions for Thursday being made if needed). The final rule is when getting a hold of Donnie, be clear on the details. He needs your name, affiliation with the school, and a clearly pronounced phone number for returned calls. It also helps if you’ve already talked to the school about the event and have gotten the okay to approach TnT. You can call Donnie at 592-5300 or e-mail him at Donnie@z92.com or tntshow@z92.com.

After Attaboy’s sports report and some football talk, Brian returned to the studio with the e-news. Included today was another obscure dead guy of the day and a Nebraska Sex Offender list. To their surprise, the first woman sex offender mentioned on the show was in the list this morning (no details on what she did, though). Brian also told yet another ghost story. This one involved his ghost opening up his garage door. TnT discounted the story as either an electrical glitch or kids playing around with other garage door openers trying to see if they could get theirs to work on random houses.

The guys read over a very nice thank you letter from Brian’s Arlington homecoming date, Susie. She was quite pleased with the way things turned out and thanked the guys for everything they did for her. TnT wondered what BW’s mom thought of him going to homecoming with an 18-year-old girl and decided to call her as they wrapped up today’s show. Debbie said that she had heard about Brian’s date and thought it was a very nice thing to do. TnT were rather surprised that she admitted that anything nice could come out of the Todd and Tyler show, but lovie dovie stuff didn’t last long. BW’s mom slammed the guys’ show a bit, stating how teenagers shouldn’t listen to it and expressing once again that she never listens to her own son on the radio. The conversation ended congenially, though, and I’m sure we’ll hear from Debbie the hot Republican again in the future.

Well that’s the Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Wednesday edition. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
