TnT Show 10-16-2002

Wednesday 10-16-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about the situation surrounding Husker QB Jamal Lord. They found it odd that Lord isn’t being forced to miss any games after getting cited for disturbing the peace and hauled away for being hammered but his girlfriend, a hottie of a UNL volleyball player won’t be participating in the next match. She’s also going to be forced to talk to the media about the incident but Lord, as typical with him this season, won’t be holding any sort of press conference. From there, the guys moved into a discussion about some items in the news, which continued later in the show when BW came in.

Brian joined the guys with his news report. During this portion of the show, the gang had a lengthy conversation about #2 furnace fuel, as well as talking about the news stories of the day. Also, Brian mentioned that he wouldn’t be joining TnT at the Funny Bone for Z Night because he has to take his grandfather to Bellevue for a driving class. At that point, TnT got a call from a calendar girl contestant named Summer. She told BW that since he’d be in Bellevue, she wanted to hook up with him for a drink or two while he waits for his grandfather to finish learning how to drive. Surprisingly Brian was up for the date, having seen Summer’s photo submissions already. He did clarify, though, that by going out with him tonight for drinks, it would in no way give her an edge in being chosen of one of the final 12 calendar girls. Summer didn’t seem to have a problem with that, although she sounded facetious. I’m sure we’ll hear all about the date tomorrow, as Summer will be stopping by the studio.

Todd and Tyler spoke to Senator Ben Nelson this morning. There was some talk of Ben’s hunting activities, followed by some Husker smack. Ben said he’s been getting a hard time from the Pennsylvania folks after the events of 9-14 (the big Penn State loss). From there, the guys asked about some of the things going on in Washington including the sniper murders and the buzz about the impending war with Iraq. Before letting him go, TnT asked Ben about the trouble he got into regarding the waste dump mess that was in the news last week. Ben talked about it for a bit but it was rather confusing and convoluted.

River City Lancers coach Mike Hastings stopped by the studio and hung out with TnT for a while. He talked with the guys about the Lancer’s new arena in Council Bluffs and seemed to be quite impressed with the facility. He also made it a point to mention that the new arena is a key focal point in his recruiting process. The gang also discussed the hole that is Aksarben. The coach hung out until later in the show, too, when TnT were joined by a couple of calendar girl contestants. By the way, the home opener for the Lancers takes place at their new Council Bluffs arena on Friday night so make sure to head out for the fun.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in and delivered a commentary on all of the sniper coverage on TV. Stay tuned for more from Cable Guy as the week progresses.

J. Scott Homan, the headliner at the Funny Bone this week, phoned the show. He was on his way to Omaha from Kansas and didn’t really have too much to say other than making a reference to staining his pants when TnT mentioned their calendar girls. He’ll be joining the guys in studio on Friday morning so tune in.

Travis came in with a sports report a little later in the show. He also gave his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary from last night’s 10pm KM3 newscast. His first topic set TnT off and spawned an argument between the guys. Travis said that disturbing the peace (as it relates to Lord) is not a crime and that Lord really did nothing wrong. From there, he went on to say that both Solich and the UNL volleyball coach made the right decisions for their players (even though they were two completely different decisions). TnT nailed him on that one, too. His final topic was about how if Husker fans are tired of a mediocre team this year, there are two great programs to watch just a state away; Iowa and Iowa State. If you’d like to leave him some feedback, you can e-mail Attaboy at travis@km3news.com or leave him a voice mail at 593-2706.

Mike Allen from the Funny Bone joined the guys in studio this morning. He talked briefly about playing for Miami in the ’88 college world series but for most of the show, he just hung out and joined in on the topics of the day. He seemed to be a pretty funny guy so why don’t you take advantage of tonight’s Z-92 night at the Bone and get out to see Mike Allen.

The guys got a visit from two of their calendar girl contestants today, Shanna and Monica. Shanna is from Long Pine so she talked with TnT about that. Monica is from Lincoln. Both are living in Lincoln now but have aspirations of Los Angeles. They discussed their theater geek lives for a bit, detailing things they’ve done in the past, and then discussed what types of guys they dig, how they got into the hot chick business, and whether they are listeners of the show. Later, the guys had them each read their own descriptions, porn music in the background.

BW returned later in the show with the entertainment news. During this portion of the show, Colleen from the Funny Bone came in and told TnT about how their buddy Sean Gnandt is stranded in Texas because he fell asleep on an airplane and lost his photo ID. The guys also continued their conversation with the two lovely ladies in studio, as well as talking to the photographer for the calendar, Frank Remar. They tried to get Frank to talk with them about what it’s like photographing hot legal-aged women, as well as attempting to get him to spill the beans about whether or not he nails any of them, but Frank wasn’t talking. It was rather funny, yet quite professional of him. For information on Frank and his business, visit his web site at Frank Remar Photography.

Tonight is another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. Join TnT this evening and you can get in for only $1 per person. You also need to bring in a decent can of food for a food drive. Also, if you happen to be one of the hotties who submitted your photo to TnT for their calendar contest, you’ll get into the Bone tonight for FREE.

That’s it for today’s update. Join the guys at the Funny Bone tonight, tune in at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and rejoin the guys for the Thursday show tomorrow from 5:30am to 10am. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
