TnT Show 10-23-2002

Wednesday 10-23-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the weather. As usual, the weathermen blew it by calling for overnight snow and when TnT arrived at work, the ground was still dry. Because of the threat of snow, the gang had scheduled Trisha to sit in for the plowing BW but with no snow, Brian showed up anyway. From there, TnT spent some time talking about a few items from the news before moving into a discussion about last night’s ‘’NYPD Blue’’ episode.

Also early in the show, TnT talked about Travis for a little bit. According to an e-mailer, confirmed by a caller, Travis sort of poked fun at Todd and Tyler’s Monday Night Football event on the radio this week. As some of you know, Travis hosts a MNF party at Ameristar on Monday nights and broadcasts during commercial breaks on Z-92’s sister station, Sports 1490. Well evidentially, Travis was poking fun at TnT’s event by saying that if people wanted to watch real football, they’d come and see him instead of seeing TnT with their pre-NFL game Golden Rods Playstation 2 simulations. The guys initially seemed a bit pissed off but were happy that they had ‘’snagged’’ Travis. They awaited his arrival to confront him on it.

BW and Trisha tag teamed this morning’s newscast, but not before the guys played a little catch-up with her and got the latest scoop on Trisha’s love life. When the mighty duo got into their report, the gang discussed a variety of stories, among them, the Washington DC sniper. The gang also spent some time talking about Brian’s infatuation with CNN’s Paula Zahn as well as talking about how Lee Terry allegedly referred to Jim Simon as an ‘’ass’’ after a recent debate.

Just after 7am, Todd and Tyler fired up their connection to Dr. Ed’s basement in Tyler, TX. Before he began diagnosing problems for TnT’s listeners, he talked with the guys about the calendar girls. He seemed impressed by the photos on the web site and offered the Guys in the Green Room assistance during the selection process. He also told TnT that he was headed to Atlanta, GA to speak this afternoon. That led the guys into a discussion about Atlanta strip clubs, something that Dr. Ed tongue-in-cheek denied having any knowledge of.

The calls for Dr. Ed poured in and included questions on such topics as hollowing out your throck and transgender people, painful toes and other funky feet problems, rusty-colored pee, brown drool spots, the dynamics of snot, the validity of ‘’M*A*S*H’’, and the history of medical advancements post Civil War. It was great to hear from the doctor again today. If you missed your chance to speak with him, he’ll be rejoining the guys in a couple of weeks so stay tuned.

Travis came in with his sports report a little later in the program. Before he got into it, TnT confronted him on his comments about their MNF parties. Travis seemed amused, stating that he’s been saying the exact same thing every week for the last 7 weeks. He wondered how long it would take for the Todd and Tyler Network to get the news back to TnT regarding it. After they heard that Travis wasn’t intending to be an asshole, the guys seemed to settle down and became friends again.

Travis followed up his regular sports report by reading his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary from last night’s 10pm KM3 newscast. The topics covered this morning include how the Huskers are playing bad on the road because of their uniforms, how CBS’s Spencer Tillman was wrong in saying that the Huskers should go to a pass offence, and how Trav will still be voting for Wallace as his selection for the Heisman. If you would like to leave Travis a comment, you can phone his voice mail at 593-2706 or e-mail him at travis@km3news.com or travis@z92.com.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on Andy Rooney’s comments about how there should be no female sideline reporters. It was a rather funny commentary that I’m sure you can read for yourself soon on Larry’s web site, Larry The Cable Guy.

BW returned later in the show with the entertainment report. To begin, he mentioned an earthquake that had occurred in Alaska in the early hours of today. His father and stepmother live there so he gave TnT their number and the guys phoned Brian’s dad’s home. They got a hold of his step-mom, Patty, and talked with her about the earthquake. Patty told the guys that she didn’t know they had one, having heard nothing about it yet and having felt nothing in the night. BW’s dad had slept through the earthquake, too, and was still sleeping the whole time TnT talked with Patty. In fact, they never did talk to BW’s dad.

The actual e-news began shortly after TnT spoke to BW’s step-mom, Patty the 39-year-old hottie. It included an obscure dead guy of the day, another installment of the Nebraska Sex Offender registry, some talk of salsa hand jobs (you’ve got to listen all day), and the gang played a clip from a terrible ‘’Spanglish’’ song called ‘’Ketchup’’. Also during the e-news, TnT seemed to give us all the impression that BW got laid last night. Unfortunately for all of us hoping to live vicariously through the news chick, no details were spilled and the comment was alleged. Perhaps we’ll hear more tomorrow.

Before ending their show today, Todd and Tyler mentioned that Slave Boy Jeremy produced this morning’s show. Without giving up any details, they said that their buddy Donnie (absent today) would be stopping by the studio on Friday morning, at which time they’ll announce a little bit of news. Something’s going down at the station so we’ll all have to tune in Friday to find out what’s up.

That’s it for today’s update. Make sure to tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday edition. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
