Tuesday 10-29-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a little talk about last night’s Monday Night Football party at Brewsky’s. They drank quite a bit of beer but didn’t seem entirely hung over today. On the other hand, the beer must have gone through Tyler rather viciously because throughout this morning’s show, he busted ass repeatedly. Also on the intestinal problems track, Todd told us that on his way home from the MNF party last night, he squeezed out a test fart that turned out to be more productive than he imagined. The poor non-underwear wearing guy crapped himself. Also early in the show, the guys played a few rounds of ‘’What Was I Watching on TV’’ with a few of their listeners as they tried to pinpoint a movie’s title by discussing its plot and actors/actresses.

BW came in with the news a little later in the show. As he read through each story, the guys took a few moments to comment on them. They also had a lengthy discussion about the political commercials that are all over the TV and radio now. Both TnT are a bit sick of them, poking fun specifically at one ad that has one candidate claiming his opponent is basically writing checks for abortions in front of the clinics.

After a call from their Native American buddy Drake, TnT got into a conversation about various ethnic bars around town. For quite some time now, Syed the Palestinian bouncer and Drake the Indian have been trying to get the guys to come down to the bar they bounce at, ‘’The Crate’’ off of 36^th and L Street. TnT are both a bit hesitant to go because they’ve heard it’s a rather rough place, especially for a couple of longhaired white dudes. Callers checked in who have been to The Crate, some saying they’d be just fine going there, others saying it would probably be a better idea if they didn’t make an appearance. During this point in the show, there was some verbal sparring between a female caller named Jennifer and a male caller named Mike. They went back and forth through several phone calls discussing Jennifer’s weight. It was rather amusing to hear Mike proclaim that ‘’If Jennifer’s under 3 bills, I’ll eat my hat.’’

The guys also got a call from Hank, the owner of the brotha bar called ‘’Hanks’’. TnT mentioned they’d probably be more comfortable there because even if they don’t entirely fit in, they at least speak the same language as the brothas so they can relate to them a bit better. When TnT asked if they would be allowed into Hanks, he told them ‘’Yea, we just won’t let you leave.’’ Laughs ensued.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today with a commentary on the political ads he’s been seeing on the TV. It fit in nicely with what TnT had discussed earlier in their show. Cable Guy also talked briefly about an upcoming Lincoln appearance as part of the Blue Collar tour. Perhaps TnT will get to speak with some of the other comic necks on the tour in the near future. Jessica Dol has been asked to the Fremont prom by an 18-year-old student who goes by the name of Styx. Evidentially, the two ran into each other out at Scary Acres and eventually the prom date was proposed. Styx phoned in to talk about the possible date, stating that he’d have to at least try to get some off of Jessica if the date does take place. Later, Jessica came into the studio to discuss it as well. TnT seemed supportive of Jessica going on the date but did point out a few problem points that could occur. First of all, there can’t be any alcohol involved because the guy’s a minor. Secondly, there could be some problems with her going to the prom because of her affiliation with Z-92 and Todd and Tyler. As you may recall, Fremont hates the station and TnT, as evident by their refusal of a Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star game last year. As further details approach, I’m sure we’ll be filled in.

As they were discussing Jessica’s possible prom date, callers began to check in and argue with TnT. It seems that most of the callers had somehow gotten the impression that TnT were trying to discourage Jessica from going to prom. TnT had to explain themselves to the morons, stating several times that they want Jessica to go but they know how 18-year-old guys are. They were just trying to warn their ‘’little sister’’ that Styx will probably try to get into her pants. Some of those confused callers brought up the Brian and Susie homecoming date as ammo for their arguments but there really wasn’t any correlation at all.

Chad from Ticket Express stopped by the studio and hung out for a bit this morning. He’s part of one of those ‘’We get together and drink at fancy bars and talk about Omaha just to make ourselves feel better’’ clubs called ‘’All About Omaha.’’ The group is putting on a Congressional Forum tonight at the 72^nd and Grover Holiday Inn Central in which candidates Lee Terry and Jim Simon will debate. He talked about tonight’s event as well as discussing his club. Later he talked with TnT about the ticket broker business and how this year’s Husker season slump has affected things. Travis came in with the sports report a little later in the show. Before he began, he imitated a sound clip from Jammal Lord’s recent media speech. It was quite funny and there’s no way to do it justice by repeating it here. You’ll have to catch the 3^rd Shift Replay or tune in tomorrow and hope he tries it again. Anyway, Trav did his sports report, mentioned he’s got an idea for tonight’s ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ segment (without detailing anything) and then spent some time riding Todd’s ass for pooping himself on the way home from MNF last night. ‘’He’s got ass juice in his socks,’’ said Travis. Todd defended himself rather nicely though. ‘’It didn’t penetrate the fabric!’’

BW returned later with the entertainment report. Early in the show, TnT got an e-mail from a guy named Ricky who said he hates BW’s e-news. So this morning BW catered his e-news segment to what he felt Ricky would like. Actually, it was the same sort of e-news as always, accentuated with more death, destruction, and dead kid stories than normal just to stick it in Ricky’s ass and break it off.

During the e-news, TnT spoke to actress Maria Bello. She appeared as the hooker in ‘’Payback’’ and as the bar owner in ‘’Coyote Ugly’’. She’s in the new movie about the life of Bob Crain called ‘’Auto Focus’’ that’s due out on Friday. At the beginning of the interview, Tyler asked her how she was made to look like such a ‘’skank’’ in ‘’Payback’’ and it sounded for a moment that the interview would be over. She took it worse than what Tyler meant it, funny as hell by the way, but eventually she got over it, the gang moved on, and they had a very nice discussion about her career and the upcoming film.

To wrap up the show, TnT brought in their buddy Jose from the Spanish speaking station down the hall. They continued their earlier discussion about ethnic bars in town and asked Jose if he would be willing to go to The Crate with them as a liaison. Jose said no way, later recanting and saying he’d go with the guys if it was in the morning or over lunch time. TnT found it funny that even Jose wouldn’t be willing to go to The crate, a bar filled with people who probably listen to him on the radio. TnT then asked Jose to teach them how to say ‘’These Gringos are OK’’ in Spanish. Following that, the gang spent some time discussing the whacked out system of policing in Mexico and talked about all of the kidnappings that take place in Mexico City.
