TnT Show 11-06-2002

Wednesday 11-6-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a little talk about yesterday’s elections. Both of the guys made it out to the booths, although Todd didn’t get there until much later in the day because he locked the keys in his running Tim O’Neill vehicle while picking his kids up from school. The gang then moved on to talk about how Eric Crouch was escorted away from the sideline during Saturday’s Husker game because he didn’t have a pass. The guys had heard this story rumored this week but it wasn’t until it was confirmed in the paper this morning that they talked about it on the air. Both TnT felt the situation was complete crap. Crouch is, after all, one of the best Husker players in the history of Husker football. He should be able to stand next to Solich if he wants. Then, before moving onto the news, Tyler talked about his trip to the baby factory yesterday, where he and Becky became acquainted with the hospital and were filled in on what they can expect when she gives birth.

BW came in with complete election coverage this morning. He read through the list of winners and losers, pointing out that there were a ton of Democrats who got their asses waxed in this state. The gang also argued back and forth about several of the issues voted on yesterday, each giving his thoughts on the topic at hand. It was really funny stuff but Todd, Tyler and Brian all seemed pissed off by the end of BW’s election coverage so they shut down the topic for the remainder of the show. Regular news then followed.

Dr. Ed was supposed to join the guys this morning but due to some sort of professional emergency, he wasn’t available. Perhaps his visit with TnT will be rescheduled soon or we’ll just have to hold off on the medical questions until his next scheduled visit two weeks from today.

The guys got an e-mail from a listener who wanted some relationship advice from TnT. He told the guys that he had recently hooked up with a group of friends and ended back at the house of a woman he had never met before but was attracted to. He wanted to know if Todd and Tyler thought it would be okay for him to go to her house and leave her a ‘’Nice to meet you, maybe we can do it again?’’ note. The guys bounced around the idea for a bit, seemingly coming back to the possible stalker aspect of leaving a note, and then told the guy would probably be better off meeting the lady face to face.

From there, they each shared some stories of their own lives, somewhat related to ‘’should I leave a note’’ topic. Tyler talked about an ex girlfriend that through a brick through his car and bitch slapped him a few times at a bar, following it up with another story about how the same woman cut up an $80 sweater he bought her. He admitted that both times he was a ‘’bad boy’’ but humorously concluded each of his stories with, ‘’but we got back together.’’ Jeremy also shared a story about how he left a note on the car of a woman he went out with a time or two. He said he was forced to leave her a note because she stopped taking his calls. Eventually the lady phoned TnT and asked them to make Jeremy leave her alone.

The relationship conversation and all of it’s tangents carried over to the phone lines, as a few listeners checked in on the topic. This led TnT to ponder why women play the games they play in relationships and they debated the 2-day rule when it comes to contacting someone after a first date.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered yet another commentary on Oprah. You’ll be able to get more of that on Friday night in Lincoln as Larry takes the stage with the other Blue Collar Tour comedians.

Todd and Tyler did the first round of their Broom Ball game draft this morning. Before doing selecting their players the guys each came up with a clever name for their teams. Tyler’s is called the Swinging Stain Sticks, while Todd’s team is the Battling Butt Juice. They each read over the list of possible contestants and chose which they wanted on their teams. They then phoned the media figures to welcome them to their side. They spoke to Jenkmeister of Channel 3 about shaving his sack and discussed strap-ons with KM3’s Deb Ward, among several other interesting conversations with the others they phoned today.

Tyler’s Swinging Stain Sticks will include Rob McCartney (7), Travis (3), Deb Ward (3), and Midget Brian. Todd’s Battling Butt Juice will be made up of Sarah Simmons (7), Trisha Meuret (7), Dean Wysocki (42), and the Jenkmiester (3). Round 2 of the draft will take place tomorrow on the show.

Travis came in with a sports report this morning. As he read through each story, TnT commented on each. He also talked with TnT about how Crouch was kicked off the sideline of Saturday’s game. He seemed to agree with TnT that Crouch shouldn’t have been removed. Attaboy then read over his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary from last night’s 10pm KM3 newscast. He discussed how the bad call in last Saturday’s Husker game wasn’t the interception near the end zone, it was actually the option play on the first drive of that series, then he went on to ask what ever happened to the QB sneak, and concluded by saying that Williams of Texas is a kick ass player. If you would like to leave Trav some feedback on these topics, you can phone him at 593-2706 or e-mail him at travis@z92.com or travis@km3news.com.

BW returned later in the show with the entertainment report. He attempted to bring a more upbeat attitude towards today’s e-news but it didn’t last throughout the segment. During this portion of the show, TnT discussed how the Spaniards and Pole Smokers in town dig their show, what might be in the future for Van Halen, and discussed how one gets to 71 from 69. The answer to that involves 2 fingers up the butt, I guess.

Before wrapping up their show, TnT discussed a news story that BW did regarding people drinking rubbing alcohol. They pondered how and why anyone would do such a thing, joking about Native Americans as they did, and then opened up the phone lines. Listeners checked in with details about how to strain rubbing alcohol and various other cleaning/health products through bread, all the while freaking out Todd and Tyler as they tried to figure out why such morons don’t just go and buy a 6-pack of beer. It was a rather interesting segment that made me feel much better about myself simply for the fact that I’ve never had the urge to filter Isopropyl rubbing alcohol through a sock or suck on a loaf of bread doused in Lysol.

That’s it for today’s update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday edition of the Todd and Tyler show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
