| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 11-08-2002 Friday 11-8-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by welcoming their buddy Black Tony to the studio. He was the first part of the Brotha bookends, concluded later in the program by Funny Bone comedian Ralph Harris. Tony joined in on the topics of the morning and hung out for a bit. One of those topics of the early morning segments of the show included a 24-page list of drug references sent to the guys by a listener. TnT read over some of the slang terms for various drugs and discussed how some of them might have got their origins. They later used the list to quiz everyone on their drug knowledge. The guys then took a phone call from a 6 5, 300+ pound listener named Adam in Pender and spoke to him about a movie script he sent to Hollywood. To their surprise, he actually got word back from a studio who showed interest in his script, loosely based on Titanic meets Lethal Weapon. He promised to keep the guys posted if any word from L.A. comes cross his desk. Also early in the show, TnT read over an e-mail from comedy contributor Chimmy Chonga. The e-mail was The 12 Days of Christmas as they relate to the TnT show. Initially, the guys thought about holding off the e-mail until later in the show but after reading over the first two days, they got in the spirit of the e-mail and sang the rest of the song to completion. 5 Golden Rods. From there, Tyler talked about his run-in with Crack Baby Katie, a friend of Susie, Brians Homecoming date. Tyler said he and Becky went out to eat last night and Crack Baby Katie was working the door as a greeter. She recognized Tyler and then plopped down and talked to him a bit about how the nickname BW gave her on Homecoming night has stuck, and she doesnt like it. Tyler seemed amused that Katie just sat down right at their table and chatted with them. He pointed out that Becky didnt mind because Katie is only 17-years-old. If she was 26, Becky might have gotten pissed. BW came in with the news a little later in the show. There were several stories about recent sexual predators TnT have discussed. The gang also talked about the My Three Sons connection in the Unicameral down in Lincoln (made up of two representatives named Ernie and Chip). From there, the guys had a lengthy discussion about the minimum wage changes over the years before moving on to discuss Tylers side job at Orange Julius in the mall. Bill Engvall of the Blue Collar Tour phoned the guys early this morning. He was with Larry the Cable Guy, both down in Lincoln already for tonights big show. He talked with TnT about the comedy tour, the upcoming movie scheduled to be released in February, his most recent comedy CD, and more. The whole while, Cable Guy was yelling things to TnT in the background. It was pretty funny stuff. You can catch Engvall and Larry along with Ron White and Jeff Foxworthy tonight in Lincoln for the Blue Collar Tour. Blue House stopped by the studio this morning and played a couple of tunes for the guys. They were joined by their new guitar player, Wink. They started off by playing How Big You Gonna Get. Then for the first time, Stan Harper took control of the vocals and sang a kick-ass version of Walking The Dog. Before heading out, Joe Blue House mentioned that today is his mothers birthday. Tyler held off on the mom jokes but the void was quickly filled by Todd, who jumped right in with a couple. You can catch Blue House playing at McCormicks tonight at 11pm. Trav came in with a sports report for us today. He also had his Lock and Saint of the week. Hes selected Baylor plus 40 at Texas and his Saint of the Week is St. Eugene de Mazenod, the patron saint of dysfunctional families. Piano master Bob Malone joined the guys in studio a little later in the show for some good old boogie woogie music. He performed a couple of tunes for TnT and sounded outstanding. Before leaving, he talked briefly with the guys about his engagement and how he has stopped drinking because of it. By the way, Bob will also be playing at McCormicks along with Blue House tonight. I believe he takes the stage around 8 or 9pm. Todd and Tyler spoke to actor Joe Penney this morning. He appeared on Jake & the Fat Man, countless men-bad Lifetime movies, last season on HBOs The Sopranos, and hes guest staring on Boomtown on Sunday evening. He talked with TnT about his extensive career as an actor and when TnT brought up some of his really old, obscure work, Joe seemed to cringe. He did, however, stay on the line with the guys and had a great time poking fun at his older stuff. Joe was super cool with Todd and Tyler, playing along quite well with them, so perhaps well hear from Joe Penney again in the future. Ralph Harris from the Funny Bone stopped in this morning and hung out with TnT for a while. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to have a great time with the guys. He talked with the guys about what it was like growing up as a kid and then discussed his acting/comedy career over the years. He told TnT several stories about opening for Ray Charles after he laughed his ass off at Rays counting clips that TnT like to play. Make sure to swing on out to the Funny Bone this weekend and catch Ralphs show. From the sounds of his visit with TnT today, youll definitely not be disappointed. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. BW returned later in the show with the entertainment news. He went over a list of the top 10 films of the last 25 years as determined by some group of pretentious British guys, most of which TnT either had never heard of or disagreed totally with. He then followed that up with another installment of the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry (which Ralph Harris got a kick out of) and concluded the e-news segment with a heartwarming story about a squirrel that chewed up the face of a 4-year-old London girl. Before ending their show, Todd and Tyler spoke to Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Jessie James Dupree of Jackyl. The two recently worked together on a Jackyl tune, Kill The Sunshine. The two described how they met and what it was like collaborating on the tune. They then discussed a couple of appearances on stage together, where they performed the tune. TnT also congratulated Brian for this mornings announcement that AC/DC will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. They also talked a bit about the AC/DC Behind the Music show on VH-1. Brian called the program total crap and later referred to it as a program to cut your wrists to. It was hilarious. The two metal monsters then talked with the guys about their current tours, Jackyl in Lincoln soon and AC/DC approaching the studio in the not too distant future. It was an outstanding interview this morning that is sure to end up on a Best Of Todd and Tyler show soon so make sure to stay tuned in. Todd and Tyler will be out at the new Mid America Center in Council Bluffs tonight playing Broom Ball between the first and second period of tonights Lancers game. Stop on out and see Todds Battling Butt Juice take on Tylers Swinging Stain Sticks. It should be a great time. I hope to have photos of the event sent to me over the weekend so Ill try to get those posted up on the web site before Monday morning. Well thats it for the big Friday update. Tune in on Sunday night at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings show and please rejoin the guys on Monday morning at 5:30am as they kick off another week of outstanding radio. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
