Todd and Tyler Unauthorized

Monday 11-18-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their weekends. Tyler went to the Upstream on Friday night as part of a sales get-together and while there, he overheard two guys whispering something about ‘’white trash radio’’ when he walked passed them. Assuming they were talking about their show, Tyler approached the two guys and confronted them angrily. The two wouldn’t admit they had said anything so Tyler called them pussies and left. Related, Tyler also got pissed off at the wife of a buddy of his whom, when he ran into them at the mall, said she didn’t listen and alluded to similar reasons as the Upstream duo.

Todd went up to Minnesota over the weekend and checked out the Iowa game. He also commented on a radio station he heard up there practically begging their listeners to send in donation checks so they could afford further Husker football game broadcasts. With mention of the Huskers, the guys brought up this weekend’s Husker ass pounding, without dwelling on it too much, though. BW came in and told the guys about how a friend of his who works as a waitress at the Buffalo Wild Wings was confronted by an angry Husker fan on Saturday because she happened to be wearing a Colorado shirt. Well, that must have pissed him off and the two verbally sparred for a bit. That story spawned some discussion and phone calls on bad sports fans.

A few teachers from the Sidney, IA school stopped by this morning with some gifts and food for Todd and Tyler as enticement for them to bring their Traveling Dodge Ball team to Sidney. The guys talked with the teachers about the school and from the sounds of it, Sidney’s now on the list of schools TnT’s dodge ball team will be attending. As the list gets firmed up, the details will be made available on the web site and on the Todd and Tyler show so stay tuned to see where the guys will be playing this season.

BW came in with the news a little later in the show. Before he began, he told the guys about his date on Friday with the hot attorney. At first, he thought she had stood him up. He waited at the bar they were supposed to meet at for about a half hour and eventually walked out to his car to check his cell phone. It turns out that she had overslept during her nap. They eventually hooked up, went out on the town, and ‘’nothin’’. When BW did the news, there was some talk about a bomb-threatening Council Bluffs casino hater, the golf club to the head kid that died in Lincoln, tomorrow morning’s AM meteor shower, and a great story about a man who fell out of an airplane over Houston, TX.

Positively Peterson from Channel 3 stopped by the studio today and hung out for a bit. It’s sweeps week so the guys talked with Greg about what he has planned. Because ‘’CSI’’ is on CBS, Peterson plans to cash in on the success of that show and drag it into his sweeps week stories. He spent some time with the Douglas County CSIs and has prepared a few stories for us all that sounded quite interesting, as he described them. Peterson also talked with the guys about the Motorsports television show he hosts, discussed the different styles of newscasts that can be found up and down the dial, and did a pretty good job at verbally slapping the s-bomb out of competitor Channel 7. It was cool to hear Greg back on the air with Todd and Tyler. I’m sure he’ll join them again in the not too distant future but in the mean time, you can catch him nightly on Channel 3.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a commentary on how freaky Michael Jackson is. He also talked about his appearances on the neck show, ‘’Buckmasters’’, which Jeremy caught over the weekend, and discussed the Husker’s loss and his outlook on this season in general. I’m sure we’ll hear more from Larry as the week progresses so stay tuned. By the way, Jeremy’s big buck hunting trip over the weekend? ‘’Nothin.’’

Hilary, a.k.a. Big Country, a.k.a. the smallest mammal ever to have given birth, came into the studio this morning and spent some time with Todd and Tyler as they tried to round up some contestants to speed date her tonight at Brewsky’s. After describing the types of guys she would be interested in and those that she wants to stay away from, Todd and Tyler opened up the phone lines and started filling time slots for tonight’s speed date rounds. Not surprisingly, the phones lit up exponentially more than when they tried to do the same thing for Brian just last week. The guys this morning all described themselves, briefly summed up their lives and interests, and took their slot in the speed date roster for this evening. Tomorrow there is sure to be a recap of tonight’s dates so make sure to tune in and see if Big Country hit it off with any of this morning’s contestants.

Travis came in with the sports report. Before he began, he told TnT all about his trip to the theater yesterday to see the new ‘’Harry Potter’’ movie with his kids. As usual when Travis leaves the house, things went wrong. The projector broke in the middle of the movie and after a half hour wait to see whether or not it would be fixed, the theater gave everyone rain checks for the movie. Thrifty Travis, though, just walked down the hall to another theater showing the movie and picked up about where he left off. All in all, Attaboy spent about 5 hours at the movies yesterday just to catch the one flick. After sharing that story, Travis did the sports.

Funny Bone comedian, the Kid phoned Todd and Tyler today while on his way to the airport to escape the vortex of Omaha. He talked with the guys about this past weekend’s shows at the Bone, mentioned how he dealt with the crowd’s reaction to the Husker loss on Saturday, and joked with TnT about his ability to conveniently switch back and forth between his white and black heritage, depending on the situation he’s in at the moment. Kid will probably be back to town in a year or so, at which time he’ll join Todd and Tyler on their radio program again.

BW returned later in the show with the entertainment news. Before he began, the guys were still taking speed date calls for Hilary. One of the callers that checked in decided he’d comment on how Brian hasn’t been showing any nads when it comes to the dates TnT have been trying to set him up with. Well Brian flipped out and verbally lashed the caller with what can only be described as a nuke of rage. It didn’t faze the caller, however, which TnT both found rather funny. After that, BW settled down a bit and jumped back into e-news mode. There were several stories about child porn freaks in the news, floods all over the damned place during the ‘’This day in history’’ segment, and the gang got off on an impressive tangent centering on anuses of the peasantry. I wish I could explain that last one to you but I just can’t do it justice, I’ve tried and deleted countless times. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3^rd Shift Replay and you’ll catch what I mean.

Todd and Tyler are out at Brewsky’s again this evening for another installment of Monday Night Football.
