| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 12-02-2002 Monday 12-2-02 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about Bono of U2s appearance in Lincoln over the weekend. He was there as part of World Aids Day, speaking at a church as well as Lincolns big conference center. TnT found it rather sad that the mayor and other officials of Lincoln and the state turned down Bonos invitation to join him. The guys thought that the reason they turned him down was because they still associate Aids with the homosexual community and everyone knows that Nebraska will have no homos! After all, this is the state that basically banned them with the 416 bill a few years ago. Rainbow wrote an article about Bonos visit, too. TnT read bits and pieces of it and as you might imagine, they had quite a bit to say about the article and Rainbows point of view. One line in particular blew TnTs mind. Rainbow said something about going to see Bono in a Methodist church in Lincoln and she was worried that she might not fit in because shes a Catholic. The guys wondered aloud why she would write such a stupid line and then pondered further exactly what Rainbow could have meant by it. Are there some physical characteristics of Catholics that are immediately evident to Methodists? Later TnT took a call from a guy who attends the church and he gave his viewpoint on Bonos visit. Following the big Rainbow discussion, the Husker loss over the weekend came up in conversation. Todd was in Colorado on a skiing trip so he got to see the first-hand effects of the game in that state. From his viewpoint, nobody really seemed to care much about the game in Colorado, unlike how this state completely shuts down on game day. He didnt even run into any freaky fans, although the gang did discuss a couple of reports done by local television and newspaper people who dressed up as Colorado fans in order to get Husker fans reactions to them. The concept was rather lame and TnT pointed out that it was lamer that those same reporters had to apologize for dressing up in Colorado gear in order to avoid a backlash of viewers and readers who might turn on them for it. Also related to the Husker game, the guys commented on how the TV coverage kept going to Josh Brown on the sidelines any time the kicker on the field did anything. The guys thought it would have been better if the television cameras had actually covered the kickers reaction to the situation instead of going to a guy on the sideline who wasnt even playing because he got busted for DUI. BW came in with the news a little later in the show but before he began, he gave TnT a review of his weekend activities. He went to Lincoln for the Husker game but doesnt remember much of it because he was completely hammered. At one point in the evening, he was peeing in an alley behind a bar when out of the blue, a truck approached. Fun Guy happened to be in it, notorious among the TnT circle of friends for his wild adventures. So BW and Fun Guy spent the remainder of the night hanging out, eventually getting kicked out of an Omaha Perkins restaurant after getting into a yelling match with a sheriff. When BW eventually got to the news, the gang covered quite a few topics. There was a lengthy discussion about the new Ricks restaurant downtown. The guys discussed how they dont believe the jazz music concept is going to work for the restaurant and pointed out that the river rats who hang out down by the water all summer might not fit in with the type of atmosphere the new restaurant is trying to have. TnT then talked about the Throw Down 2 event that sparked gunshots and a riot. And while on the riot topic, BW did a story about a woman who was injured at the NFM Friday morning as everyone in town flocked to the store at 6am to try to save $10 on a DVD player. One of the guys in line that morning checked in and said that the lady got what she deserved because she was being a real bitch to everyone around her. To wrap up the news segment of the show, BW read a list from the paper detailing disciplinary action taken on local doctors and medical professionals. The concept seemed to be much along the lines of the sex offender registry, except this one related to people in the medical profession who were sanctioned for various activities. There were quite a few on the list who were busted for diverting medication, some stole money and/or checkbooks from their co-workers, and much to the delight of Todd and Tyler, Kent Pavelkas hair doctor was allegedly busted for allegedly playing grab-ass allegedly on another doctor, allegedly. Travis came in a little later with his sports report. The Husker talk from earlier in the show resurfaced and Trav pointed out that Lord just isnt that good. Trav was of the opinion that part of the reason the Huskers are so bad this year is because after Crouch, the focus of the team shifted from the I-Back position to the QB. Now that theres not as talented an athlete in the QB position, the Huskers seem a bit lost. His points seemed to make sense. After all, the Huskers are 7 and 6. The gang also spent some time speculating on the possible coaching staff changes that might be announced today. Evidentially, the coaches are having a team meeting and everyone thinks that there is going to be some sort of staff changes announced. Tune into Travis on KM3 tonight and Im sure hell have all the details from this afternoons meeting. Lynn Taylor stopped in this morning for a few minutes to try to defend herself from Todd and Tylers claims that she was being catty a few weeks ago when Big Country was speed dating at Brewskys during a Monday Night Football party. TnT said that she was nitpicking every guy who sat down with Big Country; The cat claws were out. Lynn attempted to defend herself but did a piss poor job of it. She eventually left, defeated, and went to go lick the juices off of her latest Creed CD. For the last few months, there have been a couple of contests in which listeners were able to qualify for a Super Bowl trip give-away. This morning, the culmination of the contests was reached and TnT selected a winner. Out of the 34 names in the hat, so to speak, Amy Yeck was chosen to receive the grand prize. Congratulations Amy. Todd and Tyler phoned her at work to tell her she won but by the time Todd was able to figure out his phone, she had already heard she won on the radio. She was quite excited, though, when the guys got her on the air and told TnT that shed be taking her Bears fan husband. TnT pointed out to Amy that the Bears probably wont make it to the big game this year but Amy didnt seem to care. She thanked them for the prize and listened to TnT and James the Giant Vacation detail the events of her trip. Todd and Tyler spoke to actress Jane Seymour this morning. You might recognize her as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman or as the hot Bond girl, Solitaire, from Live & Let Die. She talked with the guys for a bit about the success of the Bond movies and her roll as Solitaire. From there, they discussed the Dr. Quinn phenomenon and how the love fans had of the show prompted CBS to make a few made-for-TV movies of the show. TnT moved on to talk a bit more about some of the various rolls on her filmography and then brought up her current project. Janes in a new lifetime movie that will air next Monday called Heart of a Stranger. She plays a transplant patient who begins to take on some of the characteristics of the person who gave her character a heart. As she described it, it sounded interesting, but a little mushy. Hey, its Lifetime, after all. Before wrapping up her visit with TnT, Jane told the guys about her 1000-year-old house in England that was once owned by the guy who invented the toilet. She talked about letting it out for parties and such, too. All in all, it was a great interview with Jane Seymour. Im sure it will end up on a Best Of in the future. BW returned later in the show with the entertainment report. Just after 9:15am, and only a moment or two into the segment, Tyler disappeared from the studio. Although no details were given other than a joke or two about him leaving the show to peruse a career in firefighting, I think it is safe to assume that Tylers Becky might have went into labor. Anyway, BW continued with the e-news as Todd took over the controls of the show. Jessica Dol and Jeremy also came into the studio during this portion of the show to carry on with Todd while Tyler was taking care of his wife. Everyone participated in the e-news chatter, all agreeing that BWs and finally story was probably the worst and finally in history. It was a story about a man who stabbed his newlywed wife a bunch of times in the middle of the night and claimed to have some sort of REM sleeping disorder. I dont remember the details because my brain turned off about 8 minutes into BWs setup of the story. Before wrapping up todays show, Todd told us that Jessica Dol was going to sit in as a speed dater tonight at Brewskys. Originally, BWs cousin Melissa was going to do it tonight but due to some communication problems, she didnt get word that TnT wanted her to join them in studio. Anyway, Jessica is going to fill the void this evening. She spent some time talking with Todd about the types of guys she likes and what qualities shes looking for in a man. Jeremy, Jessicas old sex partner, chimed in on the conversation as well. To Todds surprise, the two still seem to get along fine. He wondered aloud what it was like to be able to carry on a civil conversation with ones ex. Several callers checked in to discuss speed-dating Jessica, although no reservations were taken. Youll just have to show up tonight, guys, and hope for your 5 minutes with J. Dol. Tonight is another Monday Night Football party at Brewskys. Chances are that Todd will be hosting the event solo tonight, depending on Tylers situation with his wife. Make sure to swing on out to see Todd and the rest of the Z gang. Get there early if youre interested in speed dating Jessica. Also keep in mind that if you wear any Colorado gear tonight or you bring a coat for Brewskys coat drive or a new, unwrapped toy for Stuff The Chub, youll get qualified to win the TV from Best Buy. Remember that the Golden Rods and Colorado take the field at 7pm, to be followed up by an NFL game of some sort. It should be a great time so dont miss it. Thats it for todays update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this mornings show. It is possible that the guys will be sticking in a tape tomorrow. It all depends on the situation with Tylers Becky. I assume if she gives birth, there will be no show. On the other hand, if its a false labor, considering today is about a week and a half before the due date, the guys will probably be back on the air tomorrow. Tune in at 5:30am with me and well all find out. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby- |
