Monday 12-16-02

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the warm weather. They mentioned an article in the paper quoting some locals that aren’t in the Christmas spirit because there’s no snow on the ground. TnT didn’t seem to have the same opinion, though. From there, the gang spent some time talking about their weekends. Todd went and saw ‘’About Schmidt’’. He said he liked it and seemed to give up too many details about the movie for Tyler, who hasn’t seen it yet but plans to. Tyler’s dad flew into town over the weekend so they went out to see the Buddy Holly show at the Funny Bone, which he said was excellent. It happened to be Becky’s first time out without the baby and Tyler said she was a bit freaked out. BW and Jeremy both went out with female ‘’friends’’ this weekend, too, which came up in conversation again after the news.

BW provided us with a news report early in the show. During that segment, Tyler proclaimed, ‘’Pong is tough!’’, the guys played a round or two of ‘’What was I watching?’’, and Todd talked about killing off all of the brain cells that help one to remember not to lock his keys in the car. There was also some talk about the news topics of the day.

As a wrap-up for the news segment, Brian went off on a rant about how he just doesn’t have enough time in his life for more friends. That seemed odd to Todd and Tyler because they’re of the opinion that BW has plenty of time for friends, just no time for women. They continued the discussion by talking about how BW and Jeremy both have female friends but neither of the two ever seem to attempt to score with them. TnT referred to BW and Jeremy as pussies, took a few phone calls from listeners who agreed, and eventually wrapped up the discussion in order to move on. It seemed like TnT have both given up on the thought living vicariously through their single buddies.

Todd and Tyler announced that their new calendar will be released on Thursday night at the Ice House. Their release party begins at 6pm and all 12 models that posed for the calendar will join the guys. They spoke to Peach over the phone, later in studio, about the event and from the sounds of it, the Thursday night kick-off party is going to be a blast. By the way, the calendar will only cost $5! You’ll be able to get them at the Ice House Thursday with Todd and Tyler and they will also be available at any local Homers store. They’ll make an excellent stocking stuffer for all of you Christmas shoppers so make sure to stop out to the release party and pick one up.

Todd’s wife’s friend Rose stopped by the studio this morning. She is going to be speed dating at Brewsky’s tonight during Todd and Tyler’s Monday Night Football party. She spent some time talking with TnT about her past relationships and then moved on to talk about the types of guys she might be interested in. TnT then opened up the phone lines and for the remainder of the show, they took calls from listeners who wanted to reserve speed date spots for tonight.

Travis came in with the sports report today. There was some discussion of the Heisman Trophy and Trav’s picks followed by some NFL talk. Todd then shared a story about how he missed the end of the Vikings game over the weekend. Evidentially, someone ran into a telephone pole near his home and knocked out his power. Todd had to catch the conclusion of the game on the radio from inside his truck.

Towards the end of Travis’s sports report, the coffee must have kicked in because Travis went into giddy kid mode. TnT had picked up their conversation with speed dater Rose again, pointing out that she’s a good looking lady and has ‘’a nice rack.’’ That’s when Thesaurus Travis stepped up to the plate and whipped out a bunch of alternative terms for big boobs. As guys phoned in to schedule their speed date with Rose, Travis made sure to tell each of them in differing ways exactly how large her breasts are. ‘’They’re mammoth!’’ he told one caller, ‘’They’re monumental!’’ he told another. It was hilarious.

Smooth Dogfish stopped in this morning and started off Todd and Tyler’s week of Christmas songs. The band’s flute player, Dan, speed dated with Hilary at Brewsky’s earlier in the football season. After hearing the two songs performed by Smooth Dogfish, Todd and Tyler both seemed quite impressed with the band. Even the flute sounded cool with the bands mix of eclectically influenced, acoustic alternative/folk rock. For further information on the band, visit their web site at http://www.smoothdogfish.com. BW returned later in the show with this morning’s entertainment report. There was a lot of talk about the Mandrel sisters today, spawned by an off-handed comment made by Brian. BW also did a ‘’Who the hell is that segment’’ written all on his own because the e-mailer who has been feeding him the celebrity birthdays lately messed something up and BW received a blank message. As in recent days, that segment also turned into ‘’Would you lick that?’’ with some accompanying sound effects of a sexy-sounding female asking that very question.

Tonight is the second to the last Monday Night Football party at Brewsky’s. There are still some slots available for speed dating with Rose so if you didn’t get the chance to phone in this morning, show up early and register. The guys will also be giving away front row tickets to Friday night’s Def Leopard concert during their fisting field goal contest and if you bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army, you’ll qualify to win the Best Buy TV. Make sure to swing out to Brewsky’s at 156^th and Q Street tonight and join Todd and Tyler for their party!
